Rajasthan Govt School: 261 government schools shut, education department acts after Patrika report


<p>Sri Ganganagar: Government schools with low enrollments, which had become more of a ‘jugaad’ hub for teachers than a place for children&#8217;s education, have finally faced the consequences. Following issues consistently raised by Rajasthan Patrika, the education department has shut down 261 such government schools across the state where only a handful of students were enrolled.</p>



<p>These schools will be integrated into nearby secondary schools to create unified higher secondary schools (SHM). Eight schools from Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh districts are also included in this list.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why this decision was necessary</h2>



<p>Many schools in the state had entire buildings, staff, and resources allocated for only 2-5 students. Several schools had become merely a means of ‘posting’ teachers. This reality was revealed in Patrika&#8217;s investigation. The integration of these schools will now provide children with a larger and better-resourced environment.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Hindi medium schools also included</h2>



<p>Nine Hindi medium schools with low enrollment have been merged with higher secondary schools on the same premises, while 11 schools have been integrated into schools with higher enrollment. The primary education department has also coordinated 35 schools separately.</p>

Password Leak: 1.6 Billion User Passwords Leaked Online


<p><strong>Passwords Leak:</strong> Approximately 1.6 billion user passwords from Apple, Google, Facebook, and Telegram have been leaked online globally. Cybersecurity experts have described this as the largest data breach to date, raising concerns about increased cybercrime risks. They say that cybercriminals can use these passwords to steal users&#8217; personal information, photos, videos, and other data.</p>

<p>According to reports from Forbes and Cybernews, the data breach targeted individuals, government portals, and large companies. Most passwords are new and were stolen systematically using specialised malware called &#8216;infostealers&#8217;. This malware steals usernames and passwords from users&#8217; computers or mobiles and sends them to hackers. This information is then sold on the dark web or used in cyberattacks.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">1.6 Billion Apple, Google, Facebook, and Telegram Passwords Leaked</h2>



<p>The report states that the leaked data includes login information for various services. This includes users&#8217; emails and details from social media platforms (Facebook, Google, Telegram). It also includes developer account details on GitHub and information from some government portals. Much of this information is organised in a format that makes it easy for cyber attackers to use.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Blueprint for International Cybercrime</h2>



<p>Experts are calling this leak a ‘global cybercrime blueprint’. It reportedly includes 30 large datasets, each containing millions to billions of login credentials.<br>Experts found approximately 3.5 billion records in the 30 datasets examined. These include credentials from corporate and developer platforms, VPN logins, and social media platform users.<br>The data spans from the beginning of 2025 to the present. Experts claim that scammers can use these credentials to trap users in phishing scams and attack business emails.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sale on the Dark Web</h2>



<p>Passwords from the data breach are being sold cheaply on the dark web. Anyone can buy passwords and access others&#8217; accounts. This puts not only individuals but also large companies and institutions at risk.</p>

<p>You can easily find out if your data has been leaked. Go to the ‘Have I Been Pwned’ website (https://haveibeenpwned.com). Enter your email to check. The website will tell you if your data was part of a leak and what was leaked – such as email, password, username, or other personal information. It will also show when it was leaked, how many people&#8217;s data was compromised, and when it was shared on the dark web.</p>

<p>&#8211; Change your passwords immediately.<br>&#8211; Use a different password for each account.<br>&#8211; Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA). <p>The incident came to light when, around 10 pm, a room&#8217;s window offered a clear view into the hotel room. A couple inside were engaged in private moments, and the room&#8217;s window had no curtains. Several people standing on the street recorded this and uploaded it to social media. The video quickly went viral, attracting a crowd to the scene. Traffic was disrupted, requiring intervention from the hotel staff.</p>



<p>Following the incident, a debate has erupted on social media regarding who is at fault: the couple for not drawing the curtains, the hotel administration for not providing any safety measures for the transparent window, or the individuals who recorded someone&#8217;s private life without permission and shared it online.</p>

<p>The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of the potential for flash floods in at least 11 districts of Jharkhand. The meteorological department stated that the situation will be critical in the low-lying areas of the state. The IMD also indicated a risk of flash floods in four districts of the neighbouring state of Odisha, in addition to the 11 districts of Jharkhand.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Red Alert Issued in Jharkhand</h2>



<p>The IMD has issued a red alert (Red Alert) for Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Ramgarh, Latehar, Gumla, Ranchi, Saraikela, Simdega, and West Singhbhum districts of Jharkhand, anticipating heavy rainfall. A heavy rainfall warning has also been issued for 13 districts in eastern Uttar Pradesh (UP).</p>

<p>The Indian Meteorological Department has sent a National Flood Guidance Bulletin to all regional meteorological centres: Mumbai IMD, Bhubaneswar IMD, Ranchi IMD, and Ahmedabad IMD. A red alert has been issued for Navsari, Valsad, Dang, Daman, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Meanwhile, a landslide occurred on the Kedarnath pilgrimage route in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, due to heavy rain, resulting in two deaths and three injuries.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Delhi&#8217;s AQI Improves Due to Rainfall</h2>



<p>Delhi is experiencing intermittent rainfall due to pre-monsoon activity. The rain has provided relief from the heat, and the air quality index has also improved. Delhi&#8217;s AQI has dropped to 81. The cleanest air previously recorded was on 29 September 2024, with an AQI of 76.</p>

<p>In Gudiya village, Mirzamurad police station area, Kachhwa Road, Varanasi district, panic ensued during a 13th-day ceremony (Terahvi) when a four-year-old girl fell into a well. A young man jumped in to save her, followed by another young man in a desperate attempt to rescue both. When all three failed to emerge for a considerable time, alarm spread through the village, gathering a large crowd.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Two Youths Who Jumped Into Well to Save Child Succumb to Toxic Gas</h2>



<p>Police, NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), and DCP Akash Patel arrived on the scene. After a strenuous effort of one and a half hours, the police and villagers managed to pull out all three. Chaos erupted at the scene. All three were rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared them dead. News of their deaths led to an uproar among villagers who surrounded the NDRF, preventing them from leaving the village. Following reports of the commotion and protests, police forces from several stations arrived in Gudiya village.</p>



<p>According to reports, a 13th-day feast was held at the home in Gudiya village following the death of Rishikesh’s grandmother on Thursday. During this time, a child fell into a well while playing. Those present informed the family. Rishikesh, present in the crowd, jumped into the well to save the child. When he didn&#8217;t resurface after a considerable time, Ramkesh Bind also jumped in to help, but neither emerged. Villagers called out to them, but receiving no response, informed the police. The NDRF team arrived and rescued them one by one. Rishikesh sustained a head injury. All were taken to the hospital by ambulance, but doctors pronounced them dead.</p>


<p>A five-year-old girl fell into a well in Gudiya village on Thursday evening. Two young men jumped in to save her, but all three lost their lives.</p>

<p>Jodhpur: Boranada police station police apprehended a young man along with five foreign women in a flat in Parshwanath City on the Pal-Sangaria bypass on Thursday. One woman, who was pregnant, was admitted to AIIMS. An FIR has been registered against the flat owner for keeping foreign women without submitting the C-form.</p>



<p>According to SHO Shakil Ahmad, information was received about some foreign women and a young man staying at a ground floor flat in a block of Parshwanath City. Suspecting suspicious activities, people gathered outside the flat. Frightened, the women locked the flat from inside. Police, along with female constables, arrived at the scene.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Five Foreign Women Found Inside the Flat</h2>



<p>Upon opening the flat, five foreign women and a young man were found inside. Three of the women were from Thailand, one from Tanzania, and one from Kenya. Investigation revealed that the visas of three women had expired, while the visas of two were found to be valid.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">One Woman Pregnant, Admitted to AIIMS</h2>



<p>One woman was found to be pregnant. She was admitted to AIIMS with the help of a female constable. The four other foreign women were sent to the One Stop Sakhi Centre. Rahul, a resident of Udaliyawas who worked at the flat, was arrested on charges of disturbing the peace.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Case Against Flat Owner</h2>



<p>The investigation revealed that a woman from Delhi and a man named Yogesh had arranged accommodation for the foreign women in this flat. No agreement, verification, or C-form was submitted to the flat owner regarding them. An FIR has been registered against the flat owner under the Foreigners Act.</p>

<p>Bandikui-Jaipur Expressway: The 67-kilometre Bandikui-Jaipur Expressway, connecting the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to Jaipur, is complete, and the road safety audit is also finished. <p>Officials from Jaipur and Dausa state that they have completed their work and are only waiting for the green signal from Delhi to commence operations. An inauguration ceremony is likely to precede the expressway&#8217;s opening. However, all these decisions rest with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways at the central level.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Traffic Jams Due to Expressway Delay</h2>



<p>Since the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway opened, Jaipur&#8217;s traffic has been diverted. Many vehicles travelling from Jaipur to Delhi now use the expressway via Dausa. This has led to traffic jams in Kanota, immediately outside Jaipur. The situation has become so severe that Kanota intersection experiences jams lasting 10 to 20 minutes. The situation worsens on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Additionally, occasional jams occur at various points between Jaipur and Dausa.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Delhi Now Just Two to Three Hours Away</h2>



<p>Once the Bandikui-Jaipur Expressway opens, Delhi, Gurgaon, Sohna, and Faridabad will be much closer. After joining the expressway near Bagrana on the Jaipur-Agra Road, reaching Delhi will take only two to three hours.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Cars to Cruise at 120 kmph</h2>



<p>Cars will be able to travel at a speed of 120 kilometres per hour. Travelling on the fully controlled expressway from Jaipur to Sohna and Gurgaon will not only alleviate traffic congestion but also eliminate the need for frequent speed adjustments. The Bandikui-Jaipur Expressway is a four-lane highway, while the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is an eight-lane highway. A six-lane expressway, approximately 20 kilometres long, connects Sohna and Gurgaon.</p>

<p>UP Rain Alert: The monsoon has fully arrived in Uttar Pradesh. Rain, intermittent over the past three days across various parts of the state, has provided relief from the heat. The meteorological department has issued a heavy to very heavy rainfall alert for several districts over the next 24 to 48 hours. It is anticipated that the monsoon may intensify between 5 and 6 August in eastern and western UP.</p>



<p><strong>Yellow alert for 31 districts, thunderstorm warning for 21</strong></p>



<p>According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast centre, the monsoon has entered UP via Sonbhadra. Clouds have now settled over eastern and central UP. Rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is predicted for 21 districts, including the capital Lucknow, Kanpur Nagar, and Unnao. A yellow alert has been issued for 31 districts, including Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Kanpur Dehat, Ambedkar Nagar, Agra, and Mainpuri.</p>



<p><strong>Heavy rainfall expected in these districts</strong></p>



<p>Heavy rainfall is anticipated in Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Bhadohi (Ravindas Nagar), Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Basti, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Kanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Bareilly, Hamirpur, and Mahoba districts.</p>



<p><strong>Heavy rainfall in western UP until 22 June</strong></p>



<p>Heavy rainfall is likely to continue in several districts of western Uttar Pradesh, including Agra, until 22 June. This will lead to a drop in temperature and provide relief from the heat and humidity.</p>



<p><strong>Caused by trough line and low-pressure area</strong></p>



<p>According to the meteorological department, a trough line exists in the lower troposphere, extending from Punjab and northern parts of Madhya Pradesh to southern Assam. Additionally, an upper atmospheric pressure area is active towards north-eastern Jharkhand and West Bengal, which will move northwestward in the next 24 hours. This is the reason for the likelihood of heavy rainfall in Uttar Pradesh.</p>



<p><strong>Relief from heat, but caution necessary</strong></p>



<p>While the rain has provided relief from the intense heat and humidity, the meteorological department has advised people to remain cautious about lightning, waterlogging, and strong winds.</p>


<p>The meteorological department has issued a heavy to very heavy rainfall alert for several districts in Uttar Pradesh for the next 24 to 48 hours. It is anticipated that the monsoon will be particularly intense in eastern and western UP between 5 and 6 August.</p>

<p><strong>Udaipur News:</strong> A doctor died due to electrocution in Udaipur district, Rajasthan. The incident occurred in the hostel of Ravindranath Tagore Medical College.</p>



<p>The accident happened late Wednesday night while the doctor was filling water in a cooler. As he was filling the cooler, he received an electric shock and was severely burnt. He was rushed to MB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.</p>

<p>The deceased doctor, Ravi Sharma, was posted at the Kherwara Community Health Centre. He had been staying with his cousin, Prashant, at the PG hostel located in Chetak Circle of the medical college for two to three days.</p>

<p>The deceased doctor, Ravi Sharma, was about to join MB Hospital. His cousin, Prashant, was on night duty. Ravi was alone in the room when the accident occurred. After receiving the shock, he screamed loudly and then collapsed unconscious.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Life could not be saved even after CPR</h2>



<p>Upon learning of the accident, other resident doctors from nearby rooms rushed to help. Immediate CPR was administered to Ravi Sharma, but his life could not be saved. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.</p>

<p>The Indian Navy has released the results for the Agniveer SSR and MR recruitment exam 2025 on its official website, <a href="https://agniveernavy.cdac.in" target="_blank" rel="noopener">agniveernavy.cdac.in</a>. <p><strong>UPPSC PCS Mains 2024 Admit Card:</strong> The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has released the admit cards for the PCS Mains Examination 2024. Candidates who successfully cleared the preliminary examination can now download their admit cards from the official website, uppsc.up.nic.in. This main examination will be held over four days, from 29 June to 2 July 2025.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Examination Schedule and Pattern</h2>



<p>This year&#8217;s mains examination will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift will be from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the second shift from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The examination will comprise a total of 1500 marks. Papers on General Hindi and Essay will each carry 150 marks, while there will be six papers on General Studies, each carrying 200 marks.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Reach the Examination Centre on Time</h2>



<p>Candidates are advised to reach the examination centre at least one hour before the commencement of the examination to ensure timely completion of the admission process. This recruitment drive is for a total of 947 posts, and the state government has made all necessary arrangements for the peaceful conduct of the examination.</p>
