<p>Rain activity is set to increase in parts of Rajasthan starting today. According to the meteorological centre, parts of Bharatpur and Jaipur divisions in north-eastern Rajasthan are likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall at isolated places between 3 and 6 August. The remaining areas are expected to see light to moderate rainfall at isolated places. Meanwhile, light rain is anticipated at a few places in western Rajasthan over the next 5-6 days, with mostly dry weather conditions predicted for most areas.</p>

<p>India’s first bullet train, connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad, is soon to commence operations. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the bullet train travel time will be reduced to just 2 hours and 7 minutes. This project marks a significant revolution in the country&#8217;s railway system. He inaugurated three new trains at Bhavnagar station in Gujarat and stated that the bullet train project is progressing rapidly. This 508-kilometre high-speed rail line will run from Mumbai&#8217;s Bandra Kurla Complex to key cities in Gujarat: Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad. <p><strong>Nitin Gadkari House Bomb Threat:</strong> A bomb threat against the Nagpur residence of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, caused widespread panic in the city. At 8:46 am on Sunday, an unknown caller threatened to blow up Gadkari&#8217;s house at Enrico Heights on Wardha Road in 10 minutes via a call to Nagpur Police&#8217;s emergency number 112. Following the threat, police and security agencies sprang into action.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Police Swift Action</h2>



<p>Immediately after receiving the threat, Nagpur Police launched a thorough search of both of Gadkari&#8217;s residences – on Wardha Road and in the Mahal area. The Bomb Detection Squad (BDS) was activated, and a comprehensive search of the entire area was conducted. Zone 1 Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rishikesh Reddy stated that no explosives or suspicious material were found during the search, leading to the initial assessment of the threat as a hoax.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Accused Arrested</h2>



<p>Police launched an investigation into the call and, within hours, identified the accused as Umesh Vishnu Raut. Raut, a resident of Tulsi Bagh Road, Mahal, and an employee at a country liquor shop on Medical Chowk, was arrested from the Beema Hospital area. A case has been registered against him, and questioning has begun. The motive behind the threat remains unclear from the preliminary investigation, but police are thoroughly investigating all aspects.</p>

<p>As a precaution, security has been further tightened at both of Gadkari&#8217;s residences. Gadkari was present in Nagpur at the time and is safe. Police confirmed that the situation is under control and appealed to citizens not to heed rumours.</p>

<p>This is not the first time Nitin Gadkari has received threats. In 2023, his offices and residences in Nagpur and Delhi received several threatening calls. <p><strong>ChatGPT Share Feature:</strong> A recent incident involving ChatGPT users has caused quite a stir. Many were shocked to discover that their conversations with the chatbot were appearing in Google search results. Following the escalation of this issue, OpenAI swiftly took action and removed the feature responsible for this leak.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What was this feature and how did it work?</h2>



<p>Some time ago, OpenAI launched a new experimental feature called ‘Make This Chat Discoverable’. Its purpose was to allow users to publicly share useful or interesting chats, enabling others to read them. The use of this feature was entirely at the user&#8217;s discretion; no chat became public unless the user explicitly chose to share it.</p>



<p>Using this feature required users to follow two steps:</p>



<ul>
<li>First, the user had to select the chat they wished to share with others.</li>



<li>Then, they had to click a checkbox, which made the chat visible on sites like Google.</li>
</ul>



<p>This means that no chat was automatically made public without the user&#8217;s consent. However, some users inadvertently enabled this option, resulting in their chats appearing on Google.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Where did the mistake occur?</h2>



<p>Although safety measures were in place within the system, many users enabled this option without fully reading or understanding it. Consequently, their private conversations, including sensitive topics such as mental health, career issues, or personal experiences, became indexed on Google.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">OpenAI&#8217;s response</h2>



<p>OpenAI&#8217;s Chief Information Security Officer, Dane Stki, confirmed the removal of this feature via a post on X (formerly Twitter). He stated, ‘This feature was experimental, but it created the possibility of users inadvertently sharing sensitive information, so we have removed it.’</p>



<p>Dane also clarified that ChatGPT itself did not automatically publish anything. Only the chats of users who manually selected the share option appeared on Google.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Data removal process initiated</h2>



<p>OpenAI is now working with search engines to remove the chats already indexed from the internet. This process is expected to be completed soon.</p>

<p><strong>Jaipur:</strong> The Rajasthan PTI recruitment fraud of 2022 continues to unravel, with over 300 candidates already facing FIRs (First Information Reports) and investigations underway for over 1800 more. The involvement of personnel within the recruitment branch of the education department is also under suspicion, raising serious questions about the department&#8217;s recruitment processes.</p>



<p>In the recruitment drive for 5,546 positions, over 2,000 candidates are under investigation by the Special Operations Group (SOG). The department is accused of making appointments without thoroughly verifying documents.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">SOG Alleges Bribery in Appointments</h2>



<p>The SOG has written to the Education Secretary, alleging that appointments were being made in exchange for large sums of money. Despite this, the department has not re-verified the recruitments or made changes within the recruitment branch. Certain personnel within this branch remain in their positions despite concerns.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Role of Several Employees Questionable</h2>



<p>Employees who were previously suspended or transferred have been reinstated. Despite the questionable roles of several personnel, they have been given responsibility for the LDC recruitment. Over 1200 candidates provided different information regarding educational institutions and other details during application and verification stages, suggesting fraudulent acquisition of degrees.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How the Fraud Was Perpetrated</h2>



<p>Despite this, the recruitment branch accepted affidavits from these candidates, attributing the discrepancies to unintentional errors, and proceeded with their appointments. Attempts to contact the Education Secretary, Krishna Kunal, and the Director of Education, Sitaram Jat, were unsuccessful.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why Were These Documents Not Scrutinised?</h2>



<p>The following irregularities were uncovered despite the appointments being made:</p>



<ul>
<li>1259 candidates had data mismatches, yet were appointed after submitting affidavits.</li>



<li>153 candidates scored below 45%, despite needing 45% in their undergraduate degree for B.P.Ed admission.</li>



<li>173 candidates obtained their educational qualifications after the recruitment exam date of 25 September 2022.</li>



<li>49 candidates possessed degrees from institutions not recognised by the NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education).</li>



<li>266 candidates obtained B.P.Ed degrees without entrance exams.</li>



<li>243 candidates did not undergo document verification, yet were appointed after the department conducted verification later.</li>



<li>41 candidates possessed fake degrees, with cases of dummy candidates registered.</li>



<li>13 candidates were appointed with fraudulent sports certificates.</li>

<p>A tragic accident occurred on Sunday morning in Gonda district, Uttar Pradesh. Prahalad Gupta, a resident of Sihagaon, Motiganj police station area, along with his family and relatives, were travelling in a Bolero vehicle to visit the Prithvinath temple. There were 15 people in the vehicle.</p>



<p>While the vehicle was passing through the Parasray-Alawal Devaria road in Gonda district, near Rehera village, it suddenly veered off control near the Sarayu canal bridge and plunged into the canal. Due to the strong current and depth, those in the vehicle did not have a chance to react. Chaos ensued at the scene. As soon as the police and administration received information, a rescue operation was launched.</p>



<p>Itiyathok police station chief, KG Rao, confirmed that 11 bodies have been recovered from the canal, while four people in the Bolero were rescued. This accident has not only extinguished the lives of many in a single family but has also cast a deep shadow of grief over the entire region. The administration is currently investigating and trying to ascertain the cause of the accident.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">SP States 11 Dead, Four Rescued Including Driver</h2>



<p>Superintendent of Police, Vineet Jaiswal, stated that the Gonda district&#8217;s Itiyathok police station received information about a Bolero vehicle that had overturned in a canal. Upon receiving the information, local villagers and the local police immediately arrived at the scene and began rescue operations. A total of 15 people were in the Bolero. 11 people died, including children and women. During the rescue operation, the driver and three children were safely rescued and admitted to a hospital for treatment. The bodies of all the deceased have been sent to the district hospital mortuary.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Victims&#8217; Families to Receive ₹5 Lakh Each</h2>



<p>Following this unfortunate incident, the Chief Minister&#8217;s Office instructed all senior officials to reach the scene and carry out rescue operations. Instructions were given to provide immediate medical facilities through the CMO. The SDRF team has reached the spot. The Chief Minister has announced financial assistance of ₹5 lakh each to the dependents of the deceased. <p>An important update has been released regarding the Agniveer Vayu recruitment process. The Indian Air Force (IAF) has extended the application deadline for Agniveer Vayu recruitment. Candidates who have not yet applied can do so on the official website, <a href="agnipathvayu.cdac.in">agnipathvayu.cdac.in</a>. The new deadline is 4 August 2025; it was previously 31 July.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">IAF Agniveer Vayu Recruitment 2025: Educational Qualifications and Age Limit</h2>



<p>The recruitment process has two distinct educational categories: Science and Non-Science. Candidates must have at least 50% marks in their 12th standard examination from a recognised board with Maths, Physics, and English. </p>



<p>Alternatively, they must have at least 50% marks in a three-year engineering diploma (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation, or IT), along with 50% marks in English. For the Non-Science category, candidates need a minimum of 50% marks in their 12th standard from any stream, with at least 50% marks in English. Alternatively, those who have completed a two-year vocational course must also have at least 50% marks.</p>



<p><strong>Age Limit</strong></p>



<p>The minimum age is 17.5 years and the maximum age is 21 years. Only candidates born between 2 July 2005 and 2 January 2009 are eligible to apply.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Agniveer Recruitment 2025: Selection Process</h2>



<p>Candidate selection will be based on a four-stage process: a written examination, a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), document verification, and a medical test. Male candidates must complete a 1.6-kilometre run in 7 minutes, while female candidates have 8 minutes. Push-ups, sit-ups, and squats will also be part of the test.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Application Fee</h2>

<p>The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for all 38 districts of Bihar. The department says that northeastern Bihar will receive the most rainfall on Saturday. The administration has also advised people to remain vigilant. Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, and Muzaffarpur have been experiencing rainfall since morning. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Districts to Experience Rainfall</h2>



<p>Heavy rainfall is expected in most parts of 32 out of Bihar&#8217;s 38 districts on Saturday. Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Bhabua, Aurangabad, and Arwal districts are likely to experience heavy rainfall. Extremely heavy rainfall is predicted for Araria and Kishanganj, while very heavy rainfall is likely in Madhepura, Purnia, and Katihar. Furthermore, the Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for Samastipur, Begusarai, Supaul, Khagaria, Munger, and Bhagalpur.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Reason for Heavy Rainfall</h2>



<p>According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon trough is passing over Darbhanga, Bihar. A low-pressure area will persist near Bihar until 5 August. This is causing heavy rainfall in several districts across north, east, west, and south Bihar. On Sunday (3 August), the highest rainfall is expected in 19 districts of North Bihar. After this, rainfall activity is expected to decrease slightly.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">August Weather Forecast</h2>



<p>According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in some parts of the south-western region, i.e., Shahabad, is likely to remain below 34°C in August, while in the remaining areas, it is likely to remain above 36°C. Rainfall activity is expected to be normal this month.</p>

<p>The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for several districts in Rajasthan following widespread rainfall across the state. Light to moderate rain was recorded in most parts of eastern Rajasthan, with heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas. </p>



<p>Western Rajasthan also experienced light to moderate rainfall, with heavy showers in isolated locations. The highest rainfall was recorded in Shahpura, Jaipur, at 156 millimetres. The highest maximum temperature was recorded in Ganganagar at 37.0 degrees Celsius, and the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Sirohi at 20.1 degrees Celsius. The IMD has forecast further rainfall for the next 48 hours.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Orange Alert in 6 Districts</h2>



<p>The IMD has issued an orange alert for Ajmer, Jaipur, Sikar, Churu, Nagaur, and Pali districts, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning.</p>



<p>A yellow alert has been issued for Alwar, Bhilwara, Bundi, Dausa, Jhunjhunu, Kota, Rajsamand, Tonk, Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Jodhpur, and Sri Ganganagar, predicting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tomorrow&#8217;s Forecast</h2>



<p>The IMD has issued a yellow alert for eight districts for tomorrow, predicting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning in Ajmer, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Bikaner, Churu, Hanumangarh, Nagaur, and Sri Ganganagar.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">IMD Forecast</h2>



<p>According to the IMD, a circulation system persists over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining eastern Rajasthan, leading to the ongoing heavy rainfall. However, there is a strong possibility of relief from heavy rainfall from August 1st. However, some parts of the Shekhawati region and Bikaner division may still experience isolated heavy rainfall on August 1st.</p>
