<h2 class="wp-block-heading">60 Deaths</h2>



<p>The floods in and around Beijing have claimed the lives of 60 people so far. Approximately 31 of these were residents of an elderly care home in a Beijing suburb. The death toll in Beijing stands at 44, while 16 deaths have been reported in the neighbouring Hebei province.</p>

Rajasthan: Fake Certificates Used in Securing Government Jobs in Major Fraud


<p><strong>Manish Kumar Singh</strong><br>Ajmer: A fraud is underway in the issuance of disability certificates and specific disability identity cards in the state. Investigations at Jaipur&#8217;s SMS Hospital have revealed cases of fraudulent disability certificates. Not only this, but government jobs have also been obtained using fraudulent disability certificates.</p>



<p>This revelation came from a letter by Rajesh Agrawal, Secretary, Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. In a letter to the state&#8217;s Chief Secretary, Sudhanshu Pant, Agrawal stated that the investigation found that the disability certificates of Rahul Kasana and Pramod were fake, issued by the CMHO, Bharatpur.</p>



<p>Similarly, the case of Mahendra Singh Nain also came to light, who was issued a certificate by the Jodhpur CMHO stating 63% hearing impairment. Still, the SMS Hospital investigation found that he had no hearing impairment. Additionally, 40 other disability certificates are under scrutiny and require re-examination.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Slow Pace of Police Investigation</h2>



<p>Agrawal expressed regret in the letter that the police investigation in these cases is proceeding at a slow pace. Strict action should be taken against such officials and doctors issuing fraudulent disability certificates, who are involved in the fraudulent game of issuing disability certificates in the state.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Warning of Action Against Negligence</h2>



<p>Following the letter, Chief Secretary Sudhanshu Pant has also warned the medical college and hospital management to take strict action against those who are negligent in issuing disability certificates. It is noteworthy that a few days ago, a case came to light in which a junior clerk obtained a job in 2019 using a fake certificate of an ophthalmologist in the RPSC.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Instructions to Exercise Caution</h2>



<p>Previously, disability and UID were being created through the CMHO on online applications. Recently, a few cases of obtaining jobs using fake certificates have emerged. <p><strong>US Nuclear Submarines Near Russia:</strong> US President Donald Trump has ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines near Russia, warning of severe consequences for Russia. <p>Earlier, during his visit to Scotland on 28 July, Trump issued an ultimatum to Russia to end the war with Ukraine. Trump stated that Russia had 10 to 12 days left to end the war. Russia reacted sharply to this statement by Trump.</p>



<p>Dmitry stated that Russia is not Iran or Israel, which would remain silent after American rhetoric and accept its demands. He said that Trump&#8217;s statements are bringing America closer to all-out war. Trump should not become like former US President Joe Biden. Trump also responded to Dmitry&#8217;s statement. Trump said that he was a failed president and still considers himself president. He should restrain his tongue.</p>

<p><strong>Kalabhavan Navas Passed Away:</strong> Sad news has emerged from the film industry. Renowned Malayalam actor and mimicry artist Kalabhavan Navas has passed away. The actor was found dead in a hotel room near Chottanikkara on Friday evening, 1 August. The incident came to light when hotel staff informed the police. <p>Gold reserves discovered in MP: Jabalpur, previously known for its iron ore mines, has now yielded gold, exciting geologists. Gold and other metals have been found alongside iron and manganese ore in the Mahgawan Keolari area of Sihora tehsil in the district.</p>



<p>While a gold deposit was discovered in Katni district a few years ago, this new discovery, after a prolonged search, is located in Jabalpur, adjacent to Katni.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Multi-tonne Reserves</h2>



<p>Recently, geologists from the regional office of the Geological Survey of India collected samples during a survey of the area. Chemical analysis revealed the presence of gold and other metals. </p>



<p>It is estimated that the gold deposit spans approximately 100 hectares. Scientists believe that it could contain several tonnes of gold.</p>

<p>In view of the situation, schools in several districts have been declared closed on 1st and 2nd August. Government and private schools, Anganwadis, and coaching institutes in Ajmer, Bundi, Bikaner, Nagaur, Didwana-Kuchaman, Jaisalmer, and Dholpur will remain closed due to heavy rainfall warnings.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Teachers and Staff to Remain Present</h2>



<p>In Ajmer, District Collector Lok Bandhu has ordered the closure of schools and Anganwadi centres on 1st August. However, teachers and staff have been instructed to remain present at their designated times. In Bundi, schools will remain closed for students from classes 1 to 12 until 2nd August.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Administrative Confusion Regarding Closure</h2>



<p>However, administrative confusion regarding school closures has also emerged. The authority to close government schools has been delegated to the respective CBEOs (Cluster Block Education Officers), but the lack of clear instructions regarding private schools has created uncertainty. Some private schools have announced closures independently, leading to confusion among parents.</p>

<p>In Jaisalmer district, the holiday period for students has been extended due to safety inspections of school buildings. The district administration has decided to keep all government and non-government schools and Anganwadi centres closed for students until 2nd August.</p>



<p>According to the order issued by the district administration, the inspection of the structural condition of buildings, the need for repairs, and other safety aspects is currently underway. This decision has been taken to avoid putting children at risk. However, all teaching and non-teaching staff have been instructed to remain present at schools and Anganwadi centres as per their departmental timings.</p>



<p>A warning has also been issued of disciplinary action against the relevant government and non-government educational institutions that fail to comply with the order. It is noteworthy that this holiday was initially announced from 29th to 31st July and has now been extended to 2nd August.</p>

<p>India&#8217;s assistant coach, Ryan Ten Doeschate, has explained Jasprit Bumrah&#8217;s absence from the fifth and final Test match. He stated that the team management respected Bumrah&#8217;s wishes and believed that limiting him to three matches was the right decision, prioritising his long-term future over a single Test.</p>



<p>Jasprit Bumrah completed his pre-determined participation of three matches in the Manchester Test. The Indian team management decided against risking the star pacer in the fifth and final Test. Speaking to reporters after the end of play on the first day of the fifth Test, Ryan Ten Doeschate described Bumrah&#8217;s situation as complex. He explained that while the team wanted to include him, his health was prioritised, leading to the decision to rest him for the final Test.</p>



<p>Ten Doeschate highlighted Bumrah&#8217;s significant workload across the three Tests, despite bowling only in one innings in Manchester. We’ve tried to manage the situation. I think it’s important to look after players, especially when you’re playing with 18 players.”</p>

<p>The recruitment process has two distinct educational categories: Science and Non-Science. Candidates must have at least 50% marks in their 12th standard examination from a recognised board with Maths, Physics, and English. </p>



<p>Alternatively, they must have at least 50% marks in a three-year engineering diploma (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation, or IT), along with 50% marks in English. Registered Post Service to be Discontinued from September 1st


<p><strong>Registered Post:</strong> The Indian Postal Department has decided to discontinue the registered post service, which has been in operation since the British era, and merge it with the speed post service. The postal department has sent a circular to postmasters across the country instructing them to complete all necessary revisions by 31 July, so that registered post can be discontinued from 1 September 2025. <p>The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for several districts in Rajasthan following widespread rainfall across the state. Light to moderate rain was recorded in most parts of eastern Rajasthan, with heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas. </p>



<p>Western Rajasthan also experienced light to moderate rainfall, with heavy showers in isolated locations. The highest rainfall was recorded in Shahpura, Jaipur, at 156 millimetres. The highest maximum temperature was recorded in Ganganagar at 37.0 degrees Celsius, and the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Sirohi at 20.1 degrees Celsius. The IMD has forecast further rainfall for the next 48 hours.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Orange Alert in 6 Districts</h2>



<p>The IMD has issued an orange alert for Ajmer, Jaipur, Sikar, Churu, Nagaur, and Pali districts, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning.</p>



<p>A yellow alert has been issued for Alwar, Bhilwara, Bundi, Dausa, Jhunjhunu, Kota, Rajsamand, Tonk, Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Jodhpur, and Sri Ganganagar, predicting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning.</p>
