The night temperature was 22.2 degrees Celsius, 4 degrees below normal. The maximum temperature may increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in the next two days. However, heatwave conditions are unlikely. The first week of May is also expected to provide relief from the intense heat. However, heatwaves are expected in May. Naunata also falls in this month, from 25 May to 2 June. The Meteorological Department reported 101.1 mm of rainfall in the capital from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on Monday. However, according to residents of the Lalpur area, this much rain did not occur. If this were true, it would have broken the 114-year-old record. On 20 April 2011, the highest rainfall of 45.2 mm in 24 hours was recorded. The total monthly rainfall in 1909 was 131.1 mm. From 5:30 pm on Sunday to Monday morning, 38.4 mm of rain fell. However, this was later revised to 13.6 mm. Only 0.4 mm of rain fell in the evening.
