
<p>A cloudburst in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday, 14 August, caused significant devastation. The incident occurred in the Chashoti area, along the pilgrimage route to the Machail Mata Temple in Kishtwar district. The cloudburst triggered flash floods, swelling nearby rivers. A community kitchen (langar) was washed away, and several houses and buildings suffered damage.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Fears of Multiple Casualties</h2>



<p>The cloudburst in Kishtwar is feared to have resulted in numerous casualties, with reports suggesting over 10 deaths, although official confirmation is pending. Approximately 25 injuries have also been reported, leading to the launch of rescue operations.</p>

<p>A meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled for tomorrow, 15 August, in Alaska. Prior to this, Trump has employed a masterstroke to pressure Putin, issuing a significant statement regarding the Ukraine war just before the meeting.</p>



<p>Trump has explicitly threatened Russia, stating that Putin will face extremely serious consequences if he does not cease the war in Ukraine.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Action will be taken if agreement on halting the war is not reached &#8211; Trump</h2>



<p>During a media interaction at the Kennedy Center on Wednesday, Trump stated that if Russia does not agree to halt the war after the meeting with Putin in Alaska, it will face action.</p>



<p>During the press conference, media personnel questioned Trump, asking if Vladimir Putin would face any consequences if he did not agree to stop the war even after the meeting scheduled for Friday.</p>



<p>Responding, Trump said, &#8220;Yes, absolutely. I don&#8217;t need to say anything about it, but understand that there will be serious consequences.&#8221;</p>



<p>Trump also stated that he would advocate for a second meeting with Putin to discuss ending the war, which would also include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">No second meeting if the first meeting is unsuccessful &#8211; Trump</h2>



<p>Trump stated that if the first meeting goes well, they will hold a second meeting soon. &#8220;I would like to do this almost immediately, and if they would like to invite me there, there will be a second meeting soon between President Putin, President Zelenskyy, and myself.&#8221; The US President also clarified that if he doesn&#8217;t receive the desired response, this second meeting will not take place.</p>



<p>Meanwhile, Russia has accused Ukraine of escalating attacks on Wednesday, prior to the meeting between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15th.</p>



<p>The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that as the Russia-US summit approaches, Ukraine has increased its attacks on Russian territories. Last week, 127 Russian citizens were victims of shelling and drone attacks; 22 were killed, and 105 were injured.</p>

<p><strong>Independence Day in Pakistan:</strong> Pakistan is celebrating its 79th Independence Day today. This morning, celebratory gunfire in Karachi on Independence Day resulted in the deaths of three people, including a three-year-old child and an elderly person, while over 60 others sustained gunshot wounds. Pakistani media, citing Karachi administration officials, reported widespread celebratory gunfire across the city on the 79th anniversary of independence.</p>



<p>A child was shot in Azizabad, while a man named Stephen died in Korangi. Media reports indicate at least 64 people were shot in total. </p>



<p>Following the incident, chaos ensued in various hospitals across Karachi. Karachi authorities described the events as dangerous and irresponsible, urging citizens to celebrate Independence Day safely. Cases have been registered against those involved in the celebratory gunfire, and investigations are underway.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Authorities Appeal to the Public</h2>



<p>According to Pakistani media reports, at least 42 people, including five women, died in celebratory gunfire across the city a few months ago.</p>



<p> A further 233 people were injured during these incidents. Authorities stated that celebratory gunfire poses a serious risk and appealed to citizens to celebrate national occasions without endangering lives.</p>

<p>Arjun Tendulkar, son of former Indian captain and Bharat Ratna recipient Sachin Tendulkar, has gotten engaged to Saaniya Chandok, granddaughter of prominent Mumbai businessman Ravi Gaikwad. The Gaikwad family owns the InterContinental Hotel and the ice cream brand Brooklyn Creamery.</p>



<p>According to reports, close friends and family from both sides attended the engagement ceremony. The 25-year-old Arjun Tendulkar is a left-arm fast bowling all-rounder. He represents Goa in domestic cricket and is part of the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.</p>

<p><strong>ICC ODI Batsman Ranking:</strong> The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the latest ODI batsman rankings on Wednesday. Indian captain Rohit Sharma gained one position, moving up from third to second place, surpassing former Pakistan captain Babar Azam.</p>



<p>Babar Azam had a disappointing ODI series against the West Indies. Shubman Gill remains at the top of the ODI rankings with 784 rating points. Rohit Sharma is now second with 756 rating points. His last ODI match was the Champions Trophy final. Former Indian captain Virat Kohli also features in the top 5, holding the fourth position with 736 rating points.</p>



<p>Babar Azam&#8217;s performance against the West Indies was underwhelming. He scored only 56 runs in three matches at a poor average of 18.66, with his highest score being 47. He now has 751 rating points and is ranked third. New Zealand&#8217;s Daryl Mitchell is fifth with 722 rating points, while Sri Lanka&#8217;s Charith Asalanka remains at number six with 719 rating points.</p>

<p>The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested former Commissioner IAS Anil Pawar, corporator and builder Sitaram Gupta of the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi, builder Arun Gupta, and suspended Deputy Town Planning Officer YS Reddy in a major scam connected to the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) in Palghar district, Maharashtra.</p>



<p>The investigation revealed that some builders constructed illegal buildings and sold flats to unsuspecting investors. Later, these illegal structures were demolished following a Supreme Court order, rendering many homebuyers homeless. IAS Anil Kumar Pawar, a relative of Maharashtra&#8217;s Education Minister Dada Bhuse, was recently the Commissioner of the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation.</p>



<p>According to officials, all the accused were taken into custody on 13 August and the ED will seek their remand in a special PMLA court in Mumbai.</p>



<p>During the Shinde government, IAS Anil Kumar Pawar, a relative of Maharashtra&#8217;s Education Minister Dada Bhuse, was appointed as the Additional District Collector of Thane and the Commissioner of the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation. Following the revelation of the unauthorised construction scam in Vasai-Virar, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his displeasure.</p>



<p>Last month, the ED launched a major operation against this alleged illegal construction syndicate in Vasai-Virar, Maharashtra, conducting simultaneous raids at 16 different locations. These raids targeted architects, engineers, and agents linked to YS Reddy, the Deputy Director of the Town Planning Department of the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation.</p>



<p>The ED has obtained information about financial transactions, cash amounts, and properties linked to this racket. The investigating agency suspects that this syndicate is involved in the construction of 41 illegal residential and commercial buildings on approximately 60 acres of government land. It is believed that these constructions were carried out using forged documents and bribery. Substantial bribes were paid to secure approvals for the necessary files for illegal construction. These transactions were conducted through architects and agents.</p>

<p><strong>RPSC 1st Grade Teacher Vacancy 2025:</strong> Rajasthan has announced a bumper vacancy for teachers. The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has released a recruitment drive for over 3000 posts of School Lecturers (First Grade Teachers). This recruitment will fill 3225 teaching positions. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official website. The last date to apply is 12 September 2025. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Eligibility Criteria</h2>



<p>For this recruitment, candidates must possess a postgraduate degree and a B.Ed degree for the First Grade School Lecturer position. Candidates meeting these requirements are eligible to apply. The age limit is 18 to 40 years.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Application Fee</h2>



<p>The application fee is ₹600 for General, OBC, and EWS category candidates. For SC, ST, and differently-abled candidates, the fee is ₹400. Candidate selection will be based on a written examination consisting of two papers. The first paper will be 1 hour and 30 minutes long and carry 150 marks, while the second paper will be 3 hours long and carry 300 marks.</p>

After Looting ₹15 Crore, Dacoits Stayed 31 Km Away for 24 Hours, Mastermind Revealed


<p><strong>MP News:</strong> Significant clues have emerged in the ₹15 crore robbery from the Isaaf Small Finance Bank located in Khitaula, Jabalpur Sihora. After executing the sensational crime, the robbers stayed for 24 hours in Indrana, 31 kilometres from the scene. After monitoring police movements, they escaped on bikes the next day. They left the weapons used in the crime at the same rented house in Indrana, which they had taken seven days prior. Police claim that the mastermind behind this incident is a young man from Patan, who is currently being sought.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Reconnaissance Conducted on Bikes Wearing Helmets</h2>



<p>This entire incident was carried out in a cinematic style. The robbers targeted the small finance bank and then, seeking a safe distance, rented a house from Indrajit Vishwakarma, a resident of Indrana, through a broker. The accused had said they would stay for eight to ten days.</p>



<p>From there, the accused would come to Sihora on separate bikes wearing helmets to conduct reconnaissance. Having made their plan, all five arrived in Sihora on Monday morning and then, in 27 minutes, looted 14 kg 875 gm of gold and ₹5 lakh in cash before escaping.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Cache of Weapons Recovered</h2>



<p>The accused escaped with only the looted goods. They left the weapons and some bags at Indrajit&#8217;s house. Following leads, the police raided Indrana. They broke the lock of the criminals&#8217; rented room and found pistols and revolvers. Some empty bags and clothes were also found there. The police detained and questioned Sonu, a Sihora resident who helped the criminals get the room. The statement of the house owner, Indrajit Vishwakarma, was also recorded.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Gang Hired from Outside</h2>



<p>Police are piecing together the entire sequence of events. According to the information revealed so far, the mastermind of the incident is a young man from Patan who hired a gang from outside for the robbery. The young man has been absconding since the incident and the police are searching for him. Police suspect at least three people were from outside the area.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Reconnaissance for a Week</h2>



<p>Police have examined CCTV footage from around the bank. It revealed that the robbers conducted reconnaissance for seven days before the incident. They thoroughly studied the bank&#8217;s schedule, gathering complete information about which employee came on duty at what time. They chose the morning time for the robbery because fewer customers visit the bank then.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">₹30,000 Reward on Robbers</h2>



<p>IG Pramod Verma has announced a reward of ₹30,000 on the robbers. This reward was announced on the recommendation of SP Sampat Upadhyay. The informer&#8217;s name will also be kept confidential.</p>

<p>A pall of grief descended upon the village of Asrauli on Wednesday morning, replacing the anticipated joy. A family returning from a pilgrimage to Khatu Shyamji on Raksha Bandhan returned home to find their loved ones shrouded in white. </p>



<p>A horrific accident in Dausa has plunged the entire village into mourning. Every home echoed with wails of sorrow. Hearths grew cold, courtyards fell silent, and the streets resounded only with cries of anguish. Even those who came to offer condolences could not hold back their tears. Some lost sons, some daughters, and some lost their entire families.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Lakhan Singh&#8217;s World Shattered</h2>



<p>This tragedy devastated Lakhan Singh&#8217;s world. In a single stroke, he lost his daughter-in-law Seema, his three-year-old granddaughter Babu, his daughter Sonam, and his one-year-old granddaughter Mishti. Lakhan Singh&#8217;s wife wept inconsolably over the loss of four cherished members of her family. Her trembling voice uttered only one plea: “<em>Oh God, return my children…rebuild my shattered home.</em>”</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Jayprakash and Sanju&#8217;s Family Torn Apart</h2>



<p>For Jayprakash, this accident became life&#8217;s greatest pain. In an instant, he lost his wife Sheela and their seven-year-old son Nirmal. Sheela had brought her nieces, Mahk and Saloni, from her parents&#8217; home to share in the pilgrimage, but both young girls also perished in the tragedy. Meanwhile, Jayprakash&#8217;s cousin Sanjeev, also known as Sanju, lost his wife and three-year-old daughter Purvi in the horrific accident. Sanjeev&#8217;s son survived because he had been, by chance, placed in a different vehicle.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Screams Erupt as Bodies Arrive in the Village</h2>



<p>When seven bodies arrived in Asrauli on Wednesday evening, thousands gathered. The sight of the small children&#8217;s corpses shook the village to its core. The funeral rites lasted late into the night. Three children were buried outside the village, and the funeral pyres of three women were lit together at the cremation ground.</p>


<p>People who left home happily for Khatu Shyam have now left their families weeping. The accident was so horrific that identifying many victims is proving difficult. As news of the accident reached the village, the morning&#8217;s silence turned into screams. </p>

<p>Govind Devji Temple : भाद्रपद मास के कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी तिथि 15 अगस्त की रात 11:50 बजे से 16 अगस्त की रात 9:35 तक रहेगी। इसके सूर्योदय व्यापिनी होेने के चलते जन्माष्टमी 16 अगस्त को मनाई जाएगी।</p>


जन्माष्टमी पर्व नजदीक आते ही जयपुर के कृष्ण मंदिरों में कान्हा के स्वागत की तैयारियां अंतिम दौर में हैं। गोविंददेवजी मंदिर में बधाई गान की शुरुआत के साथ ही रंग-बिरंगी झालरों व रोशनी से सजावट की जा रही है।

 गोविंद देवजी मंदिर में जन्माष्टमी पर्व पर श्रद्धालुओं को सिर्फ भारतीय परिधान में प्रवेश दिया जाएगा। 15 अगस्त को मंदिर छावण क्षेत्र में श्रद्धालुओं का प्रवेश बंद रहेगा। इस दौरान श्रद्धालु तय गेट और रूट से ही मंदिर में दर्शन कर सकेंगे। 

16 अगस्त की रात 10 से 11 बजे तक जन्माष्टमी व्रत कथा का पाठ गोविंद मिश्र करेंगे। रात 12 बजे ठाकुर श्रीजी का पंचामृत अभिषेक होगा। 31 तोपों की हवाई गर्जना और विशेष आतिशबाजी की जाएगी। 


तीन हजार कार्यकर्ता व 150 स्काउट मंगला झांकी से लेकर अभिषेक समाप्त होने तक सेवा में लगे रहेंगे। दर्शनों के लिए लगभग 13 एलईडी स्क्रीन लगाई जाएंगी।

ज्योतिषाचार्य पं.दामोदर प्रसाद शर्मा के मुताबिक तीन साल बाद वृद्धि योग, ध्रुव योग और कृतिका नक्षत्र जैसे विशेष संयोग में पर्व मनाया जाएगा। जन्माष्टमी के दिन चंद्रमा उच्च राशि वृषभ में रहेगा। 

यह दुर्लभ योग भगवान कृष्ण के जन्म के समय भी बना था। इसके अलावा सूर्य और बुध के कर्क राशि में होने से बुधादित्य योग बनेगा। इस अवधि में व्रत करने का विशेष फल मिलेगा।
