<p><strong>PM Modi Speech on Independence Day 2025:</strong> Prime Minister Narendra Modi created history on Independence Day 2025. In his twelfth consecutive Independence Day address from the Red Fort, he delivered a speech lasting 103 minutes, setting a new record for the longest speech ever given by an Indian Prime Minister. He not only surpassed his previous record but also eclipsed the length of speeches given by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A New Record of 103 Minutes</h2>



<p>PM Modi&#8217;s speech, which began at 7:33 AM, concluded at 9:16 AM. This exceeded his previous year&#8217;s speech, which lasted 98 minutes. Previously, Pandit Nehru&#8217;s 72-minute speech (1947) and I.K. Gujral&#8217;s 71-minute speech (1997) were among the longest addresses on record.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">12th Consecutive Independence Day Address</h2>



<p>PM Modi has addressed the nation from the Red Fort every year since 2014. This year marks his 12th consecutive speech, second only to Indira Gandhi. Pandit Nehru holds the record for the most consecutive addresses, having delivered 17.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Issues Covered in the Speech</h2>



<p>In his lengthy address, PM Modi detailed the government&#8217;s achievements and presented a roadmap for building a new and developed India by 2047. He placed particular emphasis on the economy, digital development, infrastructure, social schemes, women&#8217;s empowerment, and India&#8217;s growing role on the global stage.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Speech Durations of Prime Ministers</h2>



<p>Modi&#8217;s speeches have previously been noted for their length. In 2016, he spoke for 96 minutes, 92 minutes in 2019, approximately 90 minutes in 2023, and 85 minutes in 2015. His shortest speech was 56 minutes long in 2017. In contrast, Pandit Nehru in 1954 and Indira Gandhi in 1966 delivered the shortest speeches, lasting only 14 minutes each.</p>



<p>Furthermore, Manmohan Singh&#8217;s speeches in 2012 and 2013 lasted 32 and 35 minutes respectively, while Atal Bihari Vajpayee&#8217;s addresses in 2002 and 2003 were even shorter, at 25 and 30 minutes.</p>

<p><strong>Bus Accident</strong>: A road accident in West Bengal has resulted in the death of 10 people, with over 30 others sustaining serious injuries. The incident occurred in the Bardhaman district of West Bengal on the morning of 15 August, at approximately 7 am. </p>



<p>According to locals, the collision between a bus and a truck claimed the lives of 10 pilgrims and injured more than 30 others. These pilgrims are reportedly from Bihar. Following the accident, local residents immediately informed the police, who promptly initiated rescue operations. The injured passengers were transported to Bardhaman Medical College and other nearby hospitals via ambulance.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bus Collides with Stationary Truck</h2>



<p>Locals reported that the bus was carrying 45 passengers, including 5 children. All passengers were reportedly travelling from Bihar to Gangasagar for a pilgrimage. They were returning to Bihar by bus after their pilgrimage. Near Phaguppur on National Highway 19, the bus collided with a stationary truck. The impact was so severe that the front of the bus was extensively damaged, trapping several passengers inside. The 10 deceased passengers are reported to be from Bihar, including 2 women and 8 men. However, locals swiftly responded and commenced rescue efforts.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Police and Officials Arrive at the Scene</h2>



<p>A crane was used to separate the bus from the truck. After considerable effort, the trapped passengers were extricated. Authorities attribute the accident primarily to the truck being parked on the road without warning, coupled with the bus&#8217;s high speed. The police have launched an investigation into the incident and are reviewing CCTV footage.</p>


<p>Ten passengers from Bihar died in a road accident in Bardhaman, West Bengal. More than 30 others were injured. All were returning to Bihar after bathing in the Ganga Sagar.</p>

<p>Official reports indicate HIV/AIDS has escalated from a threat to a full-blown crisis in West and East Jaintia Hills. Over half of Meghalaya&#8217;s approximately 5000 cases originate from this region, highlighting insufficient awareness and prevention efforts.</p>



<p>An Intensified Campaign for Eradication (ICE) was launched at Thomas Jones Synod College on International Youth Day, aiming to raise awareness and combat the social stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Stigma: More Dangerous Than the Disease</h2>



<p>Sandy Tariang, Cluster Programme Manager for the District Integrated Strategy, highlights that social stigma is now more dangerous than the disease itself. Fear of social exclusion deters people from testing and seeking treatment. Amelia Momin, Assistant Commissioner, emphasises that an HIV-positive individual is first and foremost a human being deserving of respect, compassion, and support.</p>



<p>The campaign, spanning the next two and a half months, will reach approximately 150 villages through rallies, traditional games, and cultural events to address the awareness gap in rural areas. Students are being engaged as information ambassadors to disseminate accurate information within their communities.</p>

<p>The need is to make treatment accessible and confidential, while intensifying social awareness campaigns. People must understand that living with HIV is possible with timely and consistent treatment. Legislation alone won&#8217;t solve the problem unless societal attitudes change and the fear of stigma is eradicated. This requires a collaborative effort from the government, society, and individuals.</p>

Stray Dogs Kill Woman in Lakhimpur Kheri


<p><strong>UP News:</strong> A 45-year-old mentally ill woman was killed in a stray dog attack in the Mitauli area of Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday evening.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Woman Attacked by Dogs While Going Towards Fields</h2>



<p>The woman, a resident of Piyara village, was reportedly on her way to the fields when she spotted a pack of dogs mauling a dead animal. Frightened, she ran towards a millet field, where she was brutally attacked by the stray dogs.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Deceased Lived with her Uncle</h2>



<p>Locals reported that the dogs mauled the woman, inflicting bites on her neck, face, and head. With no one nearby to help, she died at the scene. Police stated that the woman&#8217;s mental health deteriorated after her husband&#8217;s death. She lived with her uncle in the village. The deceased, Kaisar Jahan (40), was the daughter of Masook Ali.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Family Refuses Post-Mortem</h2>



<p>Mitauli SHO Shivaji Dubey said, “The woman was severely mauled. The family refused a post-mortem and did not file a complaint. Municipal council officials have been instructed to capture and relocate the stray dogs.”</p>


<p>A mentally ill woman was attacked and killed by stray dogs in Lakhimpur Kheri. An investigation into the incident is underway.</p>

<p><strong>RPSC 1st Grade Teacher Vacancy 2025:</strong> Rajasthan has announced a bumper vacancy for teachers. The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has released a recruitment drive for over 3000 posts of School Lecturers (First Grade Teachers). This recruitment will fill 3225 teaching positions. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official website. The last date to apply is 12 September 2025. Teachers for various subjects will be selected through this recruitment, with the highest number of vacancies (710) being for Hindi.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Vacancy Details</h2>



<p>This recruitment drive will fill 3225 posts. This includes 710 Hindi, 430 Commerce, 330 Political Science, 270 Geography, 307 English, and 170 History. There are also 1385 Senior Teacher positions for Mathematics, 1355 for Science, 1305 for English, and 1052 for Hindi.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Eligibility Criteria</h2>



<p>For this recruitment, candidates must possess a postgraduate degree and a B.Ed degree for the First Grade School Lecturer position. Candidates meeting these requirements are eligible to apply. The age limit is 18 to 40 years.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Application Fee</h2>



<p>The application fee is ₹600 for General, OBC, and EWS category candidates. For SC, ST, and differently-abled candidates, the fee is ₹400. Candidate selection will be based on a written examination consisting of two papers. The first paper will be 1 hour and 30 minutes long and carry 150 marks, while the second paper will be 3 hours long and carry 300 marks.</p>

<p>Govind Devji Temple : भाद्रपद मास के कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी तिथि 15 अगस्त की रात 11:50 बजे से 16 अगस्त की रात 9:35 तक रहेगी। इसके सूर्योदय व्यापिनी होेने के चलते जन्माष्टमी 16 अगस्त को मनाई जाएगी।</p>


जन्माष्टमी पर्व नजदीक आते ही जयपुर के कृष्ण मंदिरों में कान्हा के स्वागत की तैयारियां अंतिम दौर में हैं। गोविंददेवजी मंदिर में बधाई गान की शुरुआत के साथ ही रंग-बिरंगी झालरों व रोशनी से सजावट की जा रही है।

 गोविंद देवजी मंदिर में जन्माष्टमी पर्व पर श्रद्धालुओं को सिर्फ भारतीय परिधान में प्रवेश दिया जाएगा। 15 अगस्त को मंदिर छावण क्षेत्र में श्रद्धालुओं का प्रवेश बंद रहेगा। इस दौरान श्रद्धालु तय गेट और रूट से ही मंदिर में दर्शन कर सकेंगे। 

16 अगस्त की रात 10 से 11 बजे तक जन्माष्टमी व्रत कथा का पाठ गोविंद मिश्र करेंगे। रात 12 बजे ठाकुर श्रीजी का पंचामृत अभिषेक होगा। 31 तोपों की हवाई गर्जना और विशेष आतिशबाजी की जाएगी। 


तीन हजार कार्यकर्ता व 150 स्काउट मंगला झांकी से लेकर अभिषेक समाप्त होने तक सेवा में लगे रहेंगे। दर्शनों के लिए लगभग 13 एलईडी स्क्रीन लगाई जाएंगी।

ज्योतिषाचार्य पं.दामोदर प्रसाद शर्मा के मुताबिक तीन साल बाद वृद्धि योग, ध्रुव योग और कृतिका नक्षत्र जैसे विशेष संयोग में पर्व मनाया जाएगा। जन्माष्टमी के दिन चंद्रमा उच्च राशि वृषभ में रहेगा। 

यह दुर्लभ योग भगवान कृष्ण के जन्म के समय भी बना था। इसके अलावा सूर्य और बुध के कर्क राशि में होने से बुधादित्य योग बनेगा। इस अवधि में व्रत करने का विशेष फल मिलेगा।
