
<p>MP News: Train operations have commenced on India&#8217;s longest grade separator track in Katni, Madhya Pradesh. The first coal-laden goods train and other trains ran on Friday. A goods train arriving from Bilaspur proceeded towards Bina on the up track. Officials and staff were deployed on-site for security purposes. However, work is still ongoing on the down track.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Completed at a cost of ₹1248 crore</h2>



<p>This grade separator has been constructed in the Jabalpur division of West Central Railway. The project cost is approximately ₹1248 crore. The up grade separator is 16 km long, and the down grade separator is 18 km long, making the total length of the grade separator 34 km. This total length includes a viaduct (18 km), retaining walls (3 km), and earthwork (13 km) for both the up and down grade separators.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Project Highlights</h2>



<p>A key feature of the grade separator project is the elevated viaduct used to cross the busy yards of Katni, Katni Murwara, and New Katni Junction. The total length of the viaduct (bridge) in this grade separator is 18 km. The up grade separator has a total of 260 spans, and the downgrade separator has 411 spans.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Grade Separator Project Included in Rail Doubling</h2>



<p>The 257 km-long rail line between Katni and Singrauli is undergoing doubling. This grade separator project is part of that rail line.</p>

<p>All ceasefire attempts have failed, and Russia recently launched a devastating air strike on Ukraine. The attack involved over 800 drones and 13 missiles, resulting in the deaths of two people, including a child, and numerous injuries. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the attack. Sharing images of the aftermath on social media, Zelenskyy stated that Russia launched a large-scale drone attack across the Ukraine-Belarus border beginning Saturday night. A total of over 800 drones and 13 missiles, including four ballistic missiles, were used in the attacks, causing widespread damage across the country.</p>

<p>Numerous residential buildings in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, were severely damaged, with the middle floors of one multi-story building collapsing. Two people, including a child, lost their lives in the attack. Zelenskyy expressed condolences to their families. Dozens more were injured in the capital.</p>

<p>Zelenskyy reported damage to the Council of Ministers building, with upper floors catching fire. Furthermore, over 20 houses and a kindergarten were destroyed in Zaporizhzhia. Warehouses in Kryvyi Rih were destroyed, while casualties were also reported in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. A high-rise building in Odesa was also damaged.</p>

<p>A new notification has been issued for devotees visiting Vaishno Devi. Heavy rainfall over the past few days has caused landslides and roadblocks in the Trikuta hills, making the pilgrimage route unsafe for devotees.</p>



<p>Authorities have stated that the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage will remain suspended until conditions improve and the route is declared safe for devotees.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Kerala Devotee Shares His Difficulties</h2>



<p>Meanwhile, a devotee from Kerala shared his distress, stating, &#8220;I am very saddened that I couldn&#8217;t visit the temple. I have been waiting for the past two days. People here are saying the shrine will open after 15 days. But I am hopeful and will only return home after completing my pilgrimage.&#8221;</p>



<p>He also expressed grief over the deaths of pilgrims due to landslides in the area. Another devotee, Arun, said, &#8220;I am from Kerala and have been waiting to visit the temple for the past two to three days. The routes have been closed after some pilgrims lost their lives. I am praying for the weather to improve and hoping the rain will stop.&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Vaishno Devi Yatra Suspended Following Landslide</h2>



<p>The Vaishno Devi Yatra was suspended following a landslide on 26 August, which killed 34 people and injured many. This disaster struck at around 3 pm when heavy rainfall triggered a massive landslide near the Indraprastha Bhojanalaya, approximately halfway through the 12-kilometre journey from Katra to the temple, at Ardhakunwari.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Orders for Inquiry Issued</h2>



<p>The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, ordered the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the causes of the landslide. Shalin Kabra, Additional Chief Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Jal Shakti Department, is leading this committee, which includes the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu and the Inspector General of Police.</p>



<p>The committee has been tasked with conducting a thorough investigation and submitting its report to LG Sinha within two weeks. The order states that the committee will investigate the causes of the incident, identify all shortcomings, assess the response in terms of rescue and relief measures, and suggest measures to prevent such incidents in the future.</p>

<p>Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba has decided to resign from his post. PM Ishiba cited internal party strife as the reason for his resignation. Since the Upper House election defeat in July, Ishiba has faced criticism within the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). Ishiba assumed the premiership last October.</p>



<p>Japan Today, citing sources close to Ishiba, reported that Ishiba, who assumed office in October 2024, had expressed a desire to quell the leadership struggle within the LDP by threatening to dissolve the House of Representatives and call for snap elections. This stance faced strong opposition within the LDP.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Loss of Majority in Both Houses</h2>



<p>This decision comes less than a year after the 68-year-old Ishiba took the helm of the long-dominant Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). He has lost his majority in both houses of parliament.</p>

<p>Amidst the celebrations of Ganeshotsav in Mumbai, the city has once again received a bomb threat. Mumbai Police reported that Sahar Airport and Nair Hospital received bomb threats via suspicious emails. An anonymous email claimed a bomb had been planted in the airport&#8217;s washroom. Following this information, bomb disposal squads and security forces conducted extensive searches at the airport and hospital for hours. No suspicious objects were found during the investigation.</p>



<p>Preliminary investigations revealed that the email was sent from a fake ID. Following the threatening message, Mumbai Police immediately launched an investigation. They are gathering information about the suspect through technical investigation and tracking. The cyber cell is attempting to trace the sender of the email.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">False Information about 14 Terrorists Entering Mumbai</h2>



<p>Earlier, a message was also sent to the Mumbai Traffic Police&#8217;s WhatsApp helpline. It claimed that 14 terrorists from the &#8216;Lashkar-e-Jihadi&#8217; organisation had infiltrated Mumbai and were plotting a major attack with 400 kg of RDX planted in 34 vehicles, potentially endangering the lives of 1 crore people.</p>



<p>However, the message was proven false after investigation, and after the accused&#8217;s location was traced, Mumbai Police contacted Noida Police. Subsequently, a special team from Noida Police arrested the accused, Ashwini, and handed him over to Mumbai Police.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Threat to Blow Up ISKCON Temple</h2>



<p>This is not the first such incident. On 22 August, a threatening email was also received by the ISKCON Temple in Girgaum, Mumbai. Following this, the police and bomb disposal squad conducted a thorough search of the entire temple premises, but no suspicious objects were found. However, given the ongoing festivals, additional police forces have been deployed in sensitive areas of the city to further enhance security.</p>

<p><strong>Rajasthan Weather</strong>: Life in many parts of Rajasthan is being affected by rainfall. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for rain in 23 districts today. Of these, 13 districts have been issued warnings of extremely heavy, very heavy, and heavy rainfall. Heavy rainfall is expected in all districts, including Barmer and Jaisalmer in western Rajasthan, on Sunday and Monday. According to the department, the spell of rain may cease from 9 September, after which only light rain may occur in a few places.</p>



<p>The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert, warning of extremely heavy rainfall, in four districts: Balotra, Barmer, Jalore, and Sirohi. <p>A yellow alert has been issued for Bhawani Mandi, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Bikaner, Churu, Didwana-Kuchaman, Hanumangarh, Nagaur, and Sri Ganganagar, in view of the possibility of heavy rain. The impact of the weather may be seen in these districts for the next 24 hours.</p>



<p>The weather in the capital Jaipur is clear this morning, and no warning has been issued for rain here. However, life is being affected by the continuous rain in other parts of the state. In many districts of western and southern Rajasthan, rivers, streams, dams, and ponds have overflowed.</p>



<p>On Saturday, 2 to 5 inches of rain was recorded in Udaipur, Pali, Jalore, Sirohi, and Rajsamand. Waterlogging in several areas has affected traffic, and there is also an increased fear of crop damage in rural areas. On the other hand, the filling of reservoirs may provide relief to areas facing drinking water shortages.</p>

<p>The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) demolished a 15-storey building in Gaza City on Saturday by bombing it. Gaza residents told the Xinhua News Agency that Israeli fighter jets fired multiple missiles at the Al-Susi Tower, located in the western part of Gaza City, reducing it to rubble within minutes.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Damage to Homes and Shops</h2>



<p>According to news agencies, the powerful explosions shook the surrounding area. The IDF bombing caused significant damage to nearby homes, shops, and roads. Gaza resident Ahmad Al Ras said that they felt the ground shake as the missiles fell. He stated, &#8220;We dropped everything and fled with the children in our arms.&#8221;</p>



<p>Mahmoud Bassel, spokesperson for civil defence in the Gaza Strip, reacted to the attack. Bassel said that his team had arrived at the scene to search for survivors under the rubble. There were no immediate reports of casualties. However, dozens of families have been displaced, as the building housed many displaced Palestinians.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Hamas Allegedly Used for Attacks</h2>



<p>The attack on the 15-storey Al-Susi Tower came approximately 24 hours after Israeli aircraft demolished the 13-storey Mushtaha Tower in western Gaza City. The IDF claimed that the Al-Susi Tower was used by Hamas to install intelligence-gathering equipment and establish observation posts to monitor the positions of IDF soldiers in the area.</p>



<p>The Israeli army stated that Hamas had constructed tunnels near the building, from which Hamas militants targeted Israeli soldiers. The army said that instructions were given to Palestinians to evacuate the building before the attack. According to Gaza health officials, over 64,000 Palestinians have been killed and 161,000 injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza since the Hamas attack on southern Israel in 2023, which resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths and around 250 hostages.</p>

<p>US President Donald Trump has now expressed anger towards the European Union (EU), threatening to impose heavy tariffs. The reason for his displeasure stems from a decision involving Google.</p>



<p>The European Union imposed a €3.47 billion (approximately ₹28,945 crore) fine on Google, citing violations of competition laws. Trump retaliated immediately after the EU&#8217;s decision.</p>

<p>In a Friday social media post, Trump wrote that Europe has fined another large American company, Google, €3.5 billion, money that could have gone towards American investment and jobs. He stated that this is highly unfair and American taxpayers will not tolerate it.</p>



<p>The US President further stated that, as he has said before, his administration will not tolerate these discriminatory actions. He indicated that he will be forced to initiate action under Section 301 to overturn these unfair fines imposed on American companies.</p>

<p>Heavy rainfall in Jaipur has resulted in a tragic incident in the Walled City area. Late last night, a house collapsed, resulting in the reported deaths of two people who were trapped under the rubble. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local police worked through the night and into the morning on rescue operations, recovering four to five unconscious and injured individuals. These individuals were subsequently hospitalised.</p>



<p>Reports indicate that the house owner had rented the property to a Bengali family just a few days prior to the incident. The incident occurred in the Subhash Chowk police station area.</p>



<p>Initial reports suggest the incident occurred in Ramkumar Dhawai Wali Gali. Continuous rainfall is believed to have caused significant water damage to the old building, weakening a section of its structure. The house owner had rented out the property recently. Approximately seven to eight people were residing in the house at the time. Around 2 am, screams and shouts alerted neighbours. Witnesses reported hearing a loud bang before contacting the police, who in turn informed the Civil Defence and SDRF.</p>

<p>Two fatalities have been confirmed, and four to five injured individuals have been admitted to SMS Hospital. The rescue operation continued until morning. Police are currently gathering information about the deceased. Neighbours have been alerted, and the surrounding area has been cordoned off. It is noteworthy that Jaipur experienced continuous rainfall from early morning until late at night yesterday, and further heavy rain is forecast for today.</p>

<p><strong>Health Emergency in Andhra Pradesh:</strong> A small village, Turkapalem, in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, is currently under the spotlight due to a series of mysterious deaths. Blood samples have been sent to the laboratory for confirmation, with results expected within three days. Experts say this disease often spreads in areas affected by rain and floods. Farmers and villagers who work in water or whose livelihoods depend on animal husbandry are particularly susceptible to this infection.</p>

<p>Numerous stars from Bollywood and the Punjabi film industry have come forward to aid those affected by the devastating floods in Punjab. Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has taken a significant step, donating a substantial sum to flood relief efforts in the state. The floods in Punjab have caused widespread concern across the nation, with people expressing prayers for the affected population on social media, while many celebrities have travelled to Punjab to offer assistance. Now, Akshay Kumar, known as &#8216;Khiladi Kumar,&#8217; has also joined the relief efforts.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Celebrities Extend Help to Punjab Flood Victims </h2>



<p>Punjabi artists such as Amy Virk, Shehnaaz Gill, Sonu Sood, Diljit Dosanjh, and Mika Singh have already been distributing relief materials and appealing for aid. Amy Virk has even adopted 200 villages. Following their lead, Akshay Kumar has demonstrated his generosity by donating ₹5 crore to the flood victims of Punjab.</p>

<p>Regarding his donation, Akshay Kumar stated, “I stand by my decision. I am donating ₹5 crore to purchase relief materials for the Punjab flood victims. But who am I to give to charity? When I get the opportunity to lend a helping hand, I consider myself fortunate. For me, this is my service, my very small contribution. I pray that this natural calamity affecting my brothers and sisters in Punjab will soon pass. May God bless them.”</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Akshay&#8217;s Consistent Support During Disasters</h2>



<p>This is not the first time Akshay Kumar has stepped up to help during a disaster. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he supported the families of soldiers through the ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ initiative. Meanwhile, Shilpa Shetty&#8217;s husband, Raj Kundra, has also announced that the first-day earnings of his film ‘Meher’ will be donated to the Punjab flood victims. According to the Punjab government, approximately 1,655 villages have been affected by the floods.</p>

<p><strong>Lucknow:</strong> Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a significant benefit for teachers across the state on Teacher&#8217;s Day – cashless medical treatment. This facility will not only be available to teachers of primary, upper primary, secondary, aided schools and colleges but will also cover Shikshamitras, instructors, and cooks.</p>



<p>At the state-level Teacher&#8217;s Honour Ceremony held in Lucknow on Friday, the Chief Minister announced that all teachers in the state will now be able to avail of cashless medical treatment. This facility will not only be available to teachers of primary, upper primary, secondary, aided schools and colleges but will also cover Shikshamitras (Shiksha Mitra), instructors, and cooks.</p>



<p>Making this historic announcement, CM Yogi said that this decision will directly benefit approximately 9 lakh teacher families. Now, in any illness or emergency situation, teachers and their families will not have to face financial hardship.</p>



<p>CM Yogi described this as a &#8216;symbol of the government&#8217;s gratitude for the contribution of teachers&#8217;. </p>



<p>He honoured teachers, distributed tablets, and inaugurated smart classes at the event held in the Lok Bhavan auditorium on Teacher&#8217;s Day. In his address, the Chief Minister said, &#8220;I would say to all the teachers across the state: you do well, and we are with you. On Teacher&#8217;s Day, you all must be thinking what more could be done. We want to announce that we will provide all teachers in the state with the benefit of cashless treatment. Along with this, we will also include Shikshamitras, instructors, and cooks. That is, this facility will benefit approximately 9 lakh teachers, or 9 lakh families, of Uttar Pradesh. The Basic Education, Secondary Education, and Higher Education departments will complete all formalities as soon as possible and work to provide cashless treatment within a time frame.&#8221;</p>



<p>He also announced that a high-level committee has been formed to increase the honorarium of Shikshamitras and instructors. After the committee&#8217;s report, the government will soon take a positive decision on this. The government&#8217;s decision is because these people also support this campaign step by step. The report will be coming very soon, and we will try to do something better in that direction.</p>



<p>CM Yogi said that campaigns like Operation Kayakalp and Project Alankara were launched to improve the condition of schools in the state. Under Operation Kayakalp, 1.36 lakh schools were connected with 19 basic facilities. Meanwhile, through Project Alankara, 2,100 schools have been provided with new buildings and a safe environment so far.</p>
