
<p><strong>Thunderstorm and Rain Alert:</strong> Madhya Pradesh is experiencing August-like weather in May. Instead of the expected intense heat, many areas are experiencing rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. Due to moisture from the Arabian Sea and active weather systems, several parts of the state witnessed thunderstorms and rain on Sunday, 11 May. This led to a drop in temperature, but also caused discomfort due to humidity. The Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms, rain, and strong winds in parts of the state for today as well.</p>



<p>According to the Meteorological Department, a western disturbance is currently active as a trough near Pakistan. An upper air cyclonic circulation persists over central Maharashtra, and a trough extends from Saurashtra to the central Arabian Sea. These systems are drawing moisture from the Arabian Sea, leading to continued rainfall in various districts of the state.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Weather to clear after the 14th</h2>



<p>The Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm, strong wind, and rain alert for Monday for Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Narmadapuram, Rewa, and all other districts. There is a forecast for the weather to gradually clear after 14 May, which may lead to a rise in temperatures.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Heavy rain with strong winds on Sunday</h2>



<p>Bhopal, Mandsaur, Shahdol, Khargone, and Ashoknagar experienced heavy rain and strong winds on Sunday. Hail also fell in Ashoknagar. According to the Meteorological Department, similar weather conditions are expected on Monday. A strong wind alert is in place for over 45 districts in the state. Rain is also possible in several districts, including Bhopal, Indore, and Gwalior.</p>

<p><strong>Virat Kohli Test Retirement:</strong> Former Indian captain and legendary batsman Virat Kohli has announced his retirement from Test cricket. Kohli ended his 14-year-long Test career on Monday with an emotional post on Instagram. He had already informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about his decision. Although the BCCI, keeping in mind the upcoming England Test series, suggested he reconsider his decision, Kohli remained firm and bid farewell to Test cricket.</p>

<p><strong>Raipur Road Accident:</strong> A horrific road accident occurred late at night in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. A trailer crashed into a Mazda vehicle that was returning from a Chhathi ceremony. Thirteen people lost their lives in the collision, while twelve others were injured and are currently undergoing treatment.</p>



<p>According to reports, the accident happened near Saragaon on the Raipur-Balodabazar road. A collision between a small truck and a trailer resulted in the deaths of approximately 13 people. Several women and children were critically injured in the late-night Sunday accident and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The death toll may rise.</p>



<p>It is reported that relatives of Puneet Sahu from the Chatoud area had arrived in a goods vehicle to attend a Chhath Puja ceremony at his home. After the ceremony, they were returning when their vehicle was struck by a trailer near Saragaon on the Raipur-Balodabazar road. Thirteen people lost their lives in this horrific accident. It is said that the goods vehicle was carrying over 50 people. The Mazda first collided with a speeding trailer before crashing into another.</p>



<p>The deceased include nine women, two young women, one young man, and a six-month-old baby girl. Police have confirmed the deaths of 13 people. More than 12 others were injured. The injured were taken to the Kharora Community Health Centre and Raipur Medical College for treatment.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Police File Case, Launch Investigation</h2>



<p>The vandalism occurred at the Shamshabad branch of Karachi Bakery. Inspector K. Balaraju of RGI Airport Police Station stated that no bakery staff were harmed and there was no significant damage. Police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and dispersed the mob.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Previous Protests</h2>



<p>This is not the first protest against Karachi Bakery. Last week, during the peak of the conflict, protestors were seen hoisting the Indian flag at the Banjara Hills branch of the bakery.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bakery Manager: We Cannot Be Called Pakistani</h2>



<p>While Karachi Bakery takes its name from Karachi, Pakistan, it is run by an Indian family, descendants of those who migrated to Hyderabad during the partition. Established in 1953 in Hyderabad&#8217;s Mojamjahi Market, the bakery&#8217;s manager stated, &#8220;We are an Indian establishment. We cannot be called Pakistani.&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Branches Across the Country</h2>



<p>Karachi Bakery has branches in several cities, including Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai. It has 24 branches in Hyderabad alone. Its most popular baked goods are fruit biscuits and Osmania biscuits. Previously, the bakery owners, Rajesh and Harish Ramnani, issued a statement requesting protection from Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Police say the bakery was also vandalised during the Pulwama attack in 2019.</p>

<p><strong>Kashmir Singh Galwaddi arrest, Nabha jailbreak:</strong> The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Khalistani terrorist Kashmir Singh Galwaddi from Motihari, Bihar on Sunday. The operation was conducted with the assistance of local police. Kashmir Singh hails from Ludhiana, Punjab, and was one of the notorious criminals who escaped during the high-profile Nabha jailbreak in Punjab in 2016.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Linked to Terrorist Network in Nepal</h2>



<p>The NIA stated that the arrest was made in connection with a Khalistani terror conspiracy. After escaping from jail, Kashmir Singh collaborated with Khalistani terrorists like Babbar Khalsa and Harwinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda. He aided in the plans of terrorists based outside India. According to the NIA, Kashmir Singh was a key member of the Nepal-based network of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and Rinda. He is accused of providing shelter, funds, and supplies to terrorists hiding in Nepal. He was also allegedly involved in incidents like the rocket attack on the Punjab Police Intelligence office in Mohali.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Terrorist Previously Wanted</h2>



<p>The NIA registered this case in August 2022. The investigation involves terrorist organisations such as Babbar Khalsa, Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), and International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF). The investigation revealed a large network of terrorists and criminals operating across the border, smuggling weapons, ammunition, explosives, IEDs, and other terrorist materials into India. Kashmir Singh was declared a proclaimed offender by the NIA, and an arrest warrant was issued for him. A reward of ₹10 lakh was also announced for information leading to his arrest.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Action Taken Against Several Accused Previously</h2>



<p>In July 2023, the NIA filed a chargesheet against Harwinder Singh Rinda, Landa, and seven other accused in this case. Subsequently, two more chargesheets were filed against six more individuals. In August 2024, the NIA extradited Landa&#8217;s brother, Tarsem Singh, from the UAE and brought him to India. Another charge sheet was filed in December 2024.</p>

<p>Most Hindustan Petroleum (HP) petrol pumps have been dry for the past five days due to a technical server malfunction. Notices have been put up at the pumps due to the disruption in the petrol and diesel supply. However, HP officials say their technical team is continuously working to fix the server. Manual work is being carried out due to the problem in the online system. This has affected supply and distribution from the depot.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Petrol Diesel Pump: Normalcy Expected Today</h2>



<p>The server is expected to be back to normal by Monday evening. According to Abhay Parkh, president of the HP Petrol Pump Association, there is sufficient stock at the depot, but the supply is delayed due to the server outage. However, there has been no significant impact on vehicle drivers as supplies at Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Reliance pumps are normal. It should be noted that there are more than 750 petrol pumps in various districts of the state, and about 100 in Raipur district alone. Supply is done through tankers based on the demand of petrol pump operators. However, the departmental work has been affected due to the server outage.</p>

<p>Due to the technical malfunction in the server, only a few vehicles received petrol and diesel supplies from the depot. It is reported that over the past five days, 20% of tankers were issued manual tokens instead of online tokens on a priority basis. This caused difficulties for drivers in remote rural areas. It should be noted that more than 8.2 million vehicles are registered with the state&#8217;s transport department.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Suspicion of Cyber Attack</h2>



<p>Petrol pump operators have suspected a cyber attack due to the sudden server outage. However, HP management has denied this, attributing it to a technical fault in the server and claiming it will be fixed soon. It should be noted that, according to regulations, each pump is required to maintain a 10% reserve stock according to its capacity for emergency situations.</p>


<p>HP officials say that their technical team is continuously working to rectify the server. Manual processes are being used due to problems with the online system.</p>

<p>MP News: A preliminary map of the Bhopal Metropolitan Region (Bhopal) has been prepared. An area of 8791 sq km, encompassing five districts around Bhopal, is being designated. This translates to 879,109.94 hectares. Based on Bhopal district&#8217;s population density of 855 persons per hectare, this area will accommodate a population of 7.5 million (Development News). Bhopal Development Authority (BDA) has initiated the process of selecting a consultant for the Detailed Project Report (DPR), with an initial budget of ₹10 lakh. The consultant will be selected this month, and the DPR must be completed within 14 months thereafter.</p>

<p>Late on Friday night, Bassi police station police recovered a large quantity of explosives from an unattended pickup van parked on the highway near Mohanpura Pullia, Dausa-Jaipur road in the capital Jaipur. Police have seized the vehicle and launched an investigation.</p>



<p>Police said that during night patrol, information was received that a pickup van was parked in a suspicious condition near Mohanpura Pullia. Police arrived at the scene and searched for the driver but could not find him. The pickup was then brought to the police station with the help of a crane.</p>

<p>Police said that during the investigation at the police station, 63 cartons were found in the pickup van, each marked with a weight of 25 kilograms. Each carton contained 12 bundles, thus a total of 756 bundles were recovered. All cartons were marked &#8220;Opty Star Explosive Classic 2-Cat ZZ AV&#8221;. The investigation confirmed that all bundles contained explosive material. In addition, ten white plastic sacks were also found in the pickup, marked &#8220;Ammonium Nitrate, Weight 50 kg&#8221;. These sacks also contained explosive material.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Police Searching for Vehicle Owner and Driver</h2>



<p>Police said that transporting such a large quantity of explosives without a license and leaving it unattended in a public place could pose a serious threat to human life. Therefore, a case has been registered under the Rajasthan Explosives Act and the pickup van, 63 cartons and 10 sacks have been seized. Police are now searching for the vehicle owner and driver based on the pickup&#8217;s registration number.</p>
