
<p>Road accidents occur frequently worldwide, and their incidence shows no sign of decreasing. Road safety is paramount globally, yet lapses in safety measures often lead to accidents. Every year, numerous fatalities and even more injuries result from road accidents. On Tuesday, 6 May, another such accident occurred in Padang Panjang city, West Sumatra province, Indonesia. A passenger bus overturned, resulting in casualties.</p>

<p>Twelve people, including women and children, died in the bus accident in Padang Panjang city, West Sumatra province, Indonesia, this morning. Some perished at the scene, while others succumbed to their injuries en route to or at the hospital.</p>

<p>Twenty-three people sustained injuries in the bus accident. They have been admitted to two different hospitals for treatment, with some reported to be in critical condition.</p>

China&#8217;s military capabilities have now reached a level where it can monitor India&#8217;s every move in real-time – be it along the Himalayan border, the movements of the Indian Navy in the Indian Ocean, or through space-based surveillance.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Chinese Presence in Pakistani Fighter Jets</h2>



<p>Reports suggest that Pakistan, using Chinese-made J-10 fighter jets, targeted at least two Indian military aircraft. One of these is reportedly a Rafale fighter jet, although India has not yet confirmed any aircraft damage. <p><strong>India-Pakistan Tension:</strong> Rising tensions between India and Pakistan are now impacting daily life. Initially, schools in several states were closed due to security concerns. School closures were reported. Now, several entrance and college exams are being postponed. The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) exam, scheduled for May 10th, has been postponed in 12 cities across Punjab, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Jammu and Kashmir. Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has also rescheduled its entrance exams, originally planned for May 10th and 11th, 2025, for students in Jammu and Kashmir.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">JMI and COMEDK Exams Cancelled/Postponed</h2>



<p>JMI has clarified that an alternative date for Jammu and Kashmir students will be announced soon. Jamia&#8217;s entrance exams for the 2025-26 academic session began on April 26th and are scheduled to continue until May 31st. New dates for the COMEDK exam will be announced shortly. This year, 131,937 students registered for the COMEDK exam. Meanwhile, the CA Final CA Inter exams have also been postponed.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Jamia Millia Islamia Issues Notice </h2>



<p>The notice issued by Jamia states: “The Jamia Millia Islamia entrance examinations for the 2025-26 session commenced on April 26th, 2025, and are scheduled to conclude on May 31st, 2025. Entrance exams for some programs are scheduled for May 10th and 11th, 2025. Considering the current situation and the well-being of the students, JMI has decided to conduct separate entrance examinations for students from Jammu and Kashmir.”</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ban to be implemented across urban and rural areas of Bikaner district</h2>



<p>Bikaner District Collector Namrata Vrishni stated in the order that using the powers conferred under Section 163 of the Indian Citizen Protection Code 2023, restrictions have been imposed across all urban and rural areas of the Bikaner district. According to the order, flying UAVs, drone cameras, hot air balloons, etc., will be prohibited. This prohibition will not apply to the operation of strategically important activities by the central government&#8217;s military or paramilitary forces and the state government&#8217;s police department.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ban on the purchase, sale, and use of firecrackers and fireworks</h2>



<p>Similarly, District Collector Namrata Vrishni has banned the purchase, sale, and use of all types of firecrackers and fireworks. This order will be applicable to the entire Bikaner district. Violation of the order will be punishable under Section 223 of the Indian Penal Code 2023. This order will come into effect immediately and will remain in force for two months.</p>

<p><strong>Operation Sindoor First Poster Out:</strong> The Indian government has finally retaliated for the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April. The first poster of a film titled &#8216;Operation Sindoor&#8217; has been released. Viewers, instead of being happy about the poster and the new film, have become angry and expressed their displeasure with the makers, calling it shameful. <p>After seeing the anger of people on social media, the film&#8217;s producer, Nickky Bhagnani, clarified. Sharing a long post on his Instagram story, he apologised. He wrote: “We apologise for announcing a film based on ‘Operation Sindoor’ in relation to the courageous steps taken by the Indian Army. Our intention was not to hurt anyone&#8217;s sentiments. As a filmmaker, I was impressed by the courage, sacrifice and strength of our soldiers and leaders, and therefore decided to bring this powerful story to the screen.”</p>

<p>The film based on &#8216;Operation Sindoor&#8217; is being produced by Vikky Bhagnani, who is Jackie Bhagnani&#8217;s cousin. It is being made by Nikki-Vikky Bhagnani Films and Content Engineers. Both companies announced the film on Operation Sindoor through an AI poster. The poster shows a female officer in action mode with a gun in her hand, applying sindoor to her forehead with the other. The poster reads, &#8216;Bharat Mata Ki Jai Operation Sindoor&#8217;.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">People Outraged by Operation Sindoor Poster </h2>



<p>Upon seeing this poster, people criticised the makers. Users commented on social media saying, &#8220;Shame on you, the country is in a state of war, and you are doing all this.&#8221; Someone wrote that no actor is speaking out, but everyone is making movies to benefit themselves. Another wrote, &#8220;Stop embarrassing yourselves and your country.&#8221; After this, the makers apologised. Reports suggest that so far 50 filmmakers have applied for the Operation Sindoor title, with everyone wanting to make a film on it.</p>
