<p>According to Algerian civil protection authorities, a plane crashed on Tuesday at Jijel Ferhat Abbas Airport in Taher, a city located 350 kilometres east of Algiers, the nation&#8217;s capital.</p>



<p>Algerian civil protection authorities reported that the plane involved was a training aircraft, which crashed during a training mission.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Four Fatalities</h2>



<p>The plane crash resulted in four fatalities. Among the deceased were two members of the civil protection force; a flight instructor from a civil protection aviation school; and a manager from an aviation company, a Chilean national.</p>

<p>Triple Murder in Delhi: A shocking triple murder case has sent ripples through Karawal Nagar in the national capital on Raksha Bandhan. </p>



<p>According to police sources, preliminary investigations reveal that the husband murdered his wife and two daughters, aged seven and five, following a minor argument. </p>



<p>The accused then fled the scene. Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and launched an investigation.</p>

<p>The incident occurred in Bhagat Singh Colony, Karawal Nagar area of North-East Delhi. Pradeep lived there with his wife, Jayshree, and their two daughters, aged seven and five. Initial police investigations and statements from neighbours indicate that Pradeep had ongoing domestic disputes with his wife, Jayshree. An argument ensued on Raksha Bandhan (Saturday), after which the accused murdered his wife and two daughters before fleeing. The police have launched a search for the accused.</p>



<p>The news of the triple murder on Raksha Bandhan in Karawal Nagar, Delhi, caused a stir within the police administration. Police immediately arrived at the scene and began their investigation. The bodies were sent for post-mortem, and a forensic team was called to collect evidence. The investigation is ongoing.</p>

<p>According to police records, 51-year-old Rajesh Kumar, his 46-year-old wife Komal, 23-year-old daughter Kavita, and 20-year-old son Arjun lived together in Devli village, South Delhi. In December last year, 20-year-old Arjun reported the murders of his parents and sister to the police. During the investigation, suspicion fell upon Arjun himself. Arjun initially claimed to have discovered the bodies of his parents and sister. The police initially investigated the possibility of robbery, but found no evidence of theft or forced entry.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Humiliation and Property as Motives for Murder</h2>



<p>The police discreetly gathered information from Arjun&#8217;s neighbours. Inconsistencies emerged in Arjun&#8217;s statements. Under intense questioning, the truth began to surface. Police also found injuries on Arjun&#8217;s hands. Arjun confessed to the murders, stating that his parents had not made him their heir and that he had been constantly humiliated at home, while his sister received more affection. This led him to commit the heinous act.</p>

<p><strong>Monsoon 2025:</strong> The southwest monsoon arrived earlier than expected in Rajasthan this year, bringing much-needed relief with heavy rainfall. Excessive rainfall in 19 districts led to flood-like situations in some areas. The monsoon is poised to return with another phase of heavy rain. Monsoon clouds, returning from the Himalayan foothills, could drench more than ten cities over the next three days. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in more than ten cities for the next three days, starting today.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Yellow Alert for Three Days in These Districts</h2>



<p>According to the alert issued by the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy to moderate rainfall in Alwar, Baran, Bharatpur, Dausa, Dholpur, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, and Churu districts on 9th, 10th, and 11th August. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for these districts regarding rainfall.</p>

<p>Out of a total of 693 large and small dams in Rajasthan, bumper rainfall this year has caused 270 dams to overflow. However, 136 dams are still awaiting water inflow. Meanwhile, only partial water inflow has been recorded in 287 dams this season.</p>

MP&#39;s biggest ₹1,052 crore flyover, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to inaugurate


<p>The construction of Madhya Pradesh&#8217;s largest flyover is complete. The official inauguration of the flyover in Jabalpur has been scheduled, with Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, set to attend. Although the flyover was completed months ago, its inauguration was delayed due to internal BJP politics. Congress had even staged protests against the delay. The BJP and the state government have now announced the official inauguration date.</p>



<p>Madhya Pradesh&#8217;s Public Works Minister, Rakesh Singh, recently met with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi to formally invite him to the inauguration. Mr. Gadkari has accepted the invitation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Flyover Inauguration on 23 August</h2>



<p>Following the confirmation from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, the flyover will be inaugurated on 23 August. The inauguration ceremony in Jabalpur will be attended by Mr. Gadkari and Madhya Pradesh&#8217;s Chief Minister, Dr. Mohan Yadav.</p>



<p>This Jabalpur flyover sets a new standard for modern infrastructure in the state. It has significantly eased traffic congestion in the city. The 6.855-kilometre-long flyover connects the old and new areas of Jabalpur. The elevated corridor was constructed at a cost of ₹1052 crore.</p>

<p><strong>Jaipur.</strong> The body of a nursing student was found hanging in the Sanganeer Sadar police station area. Police cut open the door of the room with a cutter and took the body to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. </p>



<p>According to Thana Officer Anil Jaimani, the deceased, Priyanshu Chawla (22), originally hailed from Shahpura, Bhilwara. He was studying nursing at a private college and living in a rented room in Sitapura RK Puram. On Thursday morning, his body was found hanging from a noose made of a sheet.</p>



<p>When family and friends could not reach him on Thursday morning, the landlord was informed. When there was no response to knocking on the door, the police were informed. As the door wouldn&#8217;t open, it was cut open with a cutter. Police did not find any suicide note at the scene. The cause of death is being investigated.</p>



<p>Relatives have accused someone of murder and hanging the body, although police say the room was locked from inside and there were no injury marks on the body. Mobile call details are also being examined.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Father Says Window Was Open</h2>



<p>The deceased&#8217;s father, Shyamlal, has filed a case against an unknown person at the Sanganeer police station on suspicion of murder. The father alleges that his son was murdered and his body was hung from a noose. Shyamlal said that even though the room was locked from inside, the window was open for exit.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Case Registered Based on Father&#8217;s Complaint</h2>



<p>Based on the father&#8217;s complaint, the police have registered a case and started an investigation. No suicide note was found at the scene. Therefore, the police are searching for clues based on the deceased&#8217;s mobile details.</p>

<p>Due to continuous rainfall, the water level of the Mandakini river in Chitrakoot is rising rapidly. <p><strong>Murder in Delhi: </strong>A minor parking dispute in Delhi&#8217;s Bhogal area turned bloody on Friday night. Asif Qureshi, 35, a cousin of film actress Huma Qureshi, was murdered by two brothers, Ujjwal and Gautam, using sharp weapons. Police investigations have revealed that this incident was not spontaneous but the culmination of a long-standing feud that had been brewing for the past year. According to the police, Asif and the two accused had clashed at least six times in the past 12 months. Three months prior, a physical altercation occurred, where the accused openly threatened, “We will kill you next time.” This threat became a reality late Thursday night.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Dispute Started Over Scooter Parking</h2>



<p>According to South-East DCP Hemant Tiwari, the deceased&#8217;s wife, Shaheen Qureshi, stated that around 10 pm on Thursday, Asif noticed Ujjwal had parked his scooter in front of their house gate again. He asked him to move it, but Ujjwal started an argument. Hearing the commotion, his brother Gautam came out of the house and immediately began fighting with Asif. During this, Gautam started attacking with a sharp weapon. According to Asif&#8217;s wife Shaheen, after a fight three months prior, she wanted to file a police complaint, but the neighbours intervened and mediated a settlement. Despite this, Ujjwal frequently parked his scooter in front of the gate, causing disputes. The same happened on Thursday night, escalating into a fatal attack.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Accused Deliberately Parked Scooter</h2>



<p>DCP Hemant Tiwari told TOI that after the murder, a team comprising Inspector Pankaj Kumar, Deepak Kumar, and Sub-Inspectors Anil Kumar and Paras Dhyani launched an investigation. During this, the team examined CCTV footage and activated an intelligence team. A punch and a sharp weapon (a &#8216;sua&#8217;) were recovered from the accused. Shaheen alleges that neighbour Ujjwal deliberately parked his scooter in front of their house. This had led to about six arguments over the course of a year, but the accused remained defiant.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Neighbours Intervened, But to No Avail</h2>



<p>Hearing the commotion, several neighbours arrived and tried to intervene, but the accused refused to stop. Gautam brandished a weapon, warning people to back off, and repeatedly stabbed Asif in the chest. Seriously injured, Asif fell to the ground. Local residents informed the police and rushed him to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Gautam, an Addict with a Criminal Record</h2>



<p>Police sources say Gautam has been involved in criminal cases before and has cases registered against him at Lajpat Nagar police station. He was reportedly under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident. Interrogation revealed that Ujjwal provoked him during the fight, after which he attacked with the weapon. The incident was captured on CCTV. The footage clearly shows both brothers attacking Asif while people around try to intervene. The police seized the video and identified and arrested the accused based on it. The video went viral on social media from Friday morning.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Huma Qureshi&#8217;s Father Informed by Phone</h2>



<p>Salim Qureshi (सलीम कुरैशी), father of actress Huma Qureshi and Asif&#8217;s relative, said he learned of the incident over the phone. He stated, “Asif only said, ‘Please move the scooter a little’, but they made it an ego issue and murdered him.” Salim described Asif as a simple and hardworking young man and said this incident reflects the growing intolerance in society.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Both Accused Arrested</h2>



<p>DCP Hemant Tiwari stated that the police have registered a murder case and arrested Gautam and Ujjwal. Investigations into their criminal background are ongoing. <p><strong>RSRTC:</strong> As part of the budget announcement and to strengthen public transport, 300 new buses have been added to the roadways fleet. Of these, 12 Volvo buses have recently been launched by Roadways. Furthermore, 288 buses have been allocated to 34 depots across the state. Of these, Jaipur&#8217;s Vaishali Nagar, Vidhyadhar Nagar, and Jaipur depots have received 82 buses. The new buses will improve connectivity between rural and urban areas. The General Manager of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) has recently issued orders in this regard.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Buses to Feature GPS System and Panic Button</h2>



<p>Sources say that these buses are equipped with GPS systems and CCTV cameras. Comfortable seating and improved ventilation have been provided for passenger convenience. Each woman&#8217;s seat will have a panic button. If a female passenger feels any discomfort or senses danger, she can use the panic button.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">E-Ticketing System Also Available</h2>



<p>These buses will also have an e-ticketing system, which will promote cashless payments. According to Roadways officials, these buses will be sent to various depots across the state in a phased manner and deployed on priority routes. This will also increase Roadways&#8217; revenue.</p>

<p>According to information received from the Roadways headquarters, Jaipur&#8217;s Vaishali Nagar depot has received the most buses, with 40. Following this, Vidhyadhar Nagar and Shahpura depots received 22 buses each, while Jaipur and Dausa depots received 20 buses each. Bhilwara, Sikar, and Udaipur depots received 10 buses each. Ajmer and Ajmeru received 7 buses each, and the remaining depots received 5 buses each.</p>

<p><strong>Kota Railway Division: </strong>A special train was hastily run from Kota to Bhopal by the railway administration in the Kota Railway Division of West Central Railway, with only two hours&#8217; notice given on Thursday night. This lack of timely information meant the train ran almost empty. This move by the railway administration has angered passengers, especially considering the high demand for travel around Raksha Bandhan.</p>



<p>The Kota Railway Division announced the running of a special train from Kota to Bhopal via Nagda on Thursday evening. However, this information did not reach the public. A special train (09822) departed from platform number 3 of Kota station at 11.10 PM on Thursday, but its compartments remained largely unoccupied. Normally, the railway provides at least 48 hours&#8217; notice for special trains, but in this case, information was given only two hours prior, around 9.15 PM.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">11-Coach Unreserved Train</h2>



<p>Railway officials stated that this special train was entirely unreserved, comprising 11 coaches – four general and five sleeper coaches. Although the train was operated in anticipation of passenger crowds between Kota and Bhopal, the lack of a timely announcement resulted in it running almost empty.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Running a Train Like This is Ridiculous</h2>



<p>Dheeraj Gupta Tej, a member of the Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee, commented that the railway&#8217;s decision to run this train without prior publicity was ridiculous, as it resulted in an almost empty train. He demanded that the railway management clarify when they received information about the need for the train and when they took action. He pointed out that passengers did not benefit from this decision, and that if there was extra crowding in Bhopal and Sehore, the decision could have been made earlier in the day.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Post Subsequently Removed</h2>



<p>The Kota Railway Division announced the operation of the special train via the social media platform X around 9.15 PM. The train departed at 11.10 PM. Following criticism of this short notice, the railway deleted the post at 10.08 PM and announced that the train was unreserved.</p>



<p>An unreserved train was sent from Kota in anticipation of extra crowds in Bhopal to bring back passengers. This decision was taken immediately, leading to the operation of the special train.</p>

This inflated fare has not only imposed a significant financial burden on passengers but also exposed the shortcomings of local transport regulations and administrative oversight.</p>

<p>The Indian Motor Vehicles Act and transport regulations strictly prohibit the arbitrary collection of fares from passengers. However, this rule is being openly violated during festivals. Additional Regional Transport Officer Madhu Singh was contacted for comment, but their phone was unavailable.</p>

<li><strong>Bhopal to Chhatarpur:</strong> Buses that usually charge between ₹700 and ₹900 are now charging ₹1500 to ₹1720.</li>



<li><strong>Delhi to Chhatarpur:</strong> Fares ranging from ₹899 to ₹1599 are being charged, almost double the usual fare.</li>



<li><strong>Indore to Chhatarpur:</strong> Passengers are being charged ₹750 to ₹900, compared to the usual ₹400-₹500.</li>



<li>This increase is even higher for air-conditioned (AC) and sleeper class buses. Passengers reported that the trend of higher fares is also evident during online ticket booking, further encouraging this arbitrariness.</li>
