Extremely heavy rainfall is predicted for Araria and Kishanganj, while very heavy rainfall is likely in Madhepura, Purnia, and Katihar. Furthermore, the Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for Samastipur, Begusarai, Supaul, Khagaria, Munger, and Bhagalpur.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Reason for Heavy Rainfall</h2>



<p>According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon trough is passing over Darbhanga, Bihar. A low-pressure area will persist near Bihar until 5 August. This is causing heavy rainfall in several districts across north, east, west, and south Bihar. On Sunday (3 August), the highest rainfall is expected in 19 districts of North Bihar. After this, rainfall activity is expected to decrease slightly.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">August Weather Forecast</h2>



<p>According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in some parts of the south-western region, i.e., Shahabad, is likely to remain below 34°C in August, while in the remaining areas, it is likely to remain above 36°C. Rainfall activity is expected to be normal this month.</p>

<p>The monsoon&#8217;s fury in Himachal Pradesh shows no signs of abating. Continuous rainfall and cloudbursts have caused widespread flooding in several areas. Landslides are also being reported daily, with a series of natural disasters plaguing the state. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">State Emergency Operation Centre Releases Report</h2>



<p>The State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), under the State Disaster Management Authority, released a report on Thursday morning stating that by August 6th, these events had caused 199 deaths and ₹1,90,550 lakh (₹19,05,50,00,000) in economic losses. With the state already significantly impacted, further devastation is anticipated as the meteorological department has issued a heavy rainfall warning until August 12th.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">108 Deaths Due to Rainfall</h2>



<p>According to the report, 108 deaths were directly attributed to rain-related disasters, while 91 fatalities resulted from road accidents. These deaths occurred between June 20th and August 6th, 2025. The report also highlights the significant impact on livestock, homes, and infrastructure. The total estimated economic loss to the state during the monsoon season exceeds ₹1,90,550 lakh. This includes damage to roads, water schemes, electricity infrastructure, schools, healthcare facilities, agriculture, and housing.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Heavy Rainfall Warning Until August 12th</h2>



<p>The meteorological department has warned of further heavy rainfall in the state until August 12th. Concerns are rising that this could further hamper essential services and lead to more casualties.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">17 Deaths Due to Cloudbursts</h2>



<p>Of the rain-related deaths, 17 were caused by cloudbursts, 20 by drowning, 9 by flash floods, 6 by landslides, and 1 by electrocution. Other fatalities resulted from falls, fires, lightning strikes, and other rain-related incidents.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Highest Road Accident Fatalities in Mandi</h2>



<p>Road accidents have claimed 91 lives. Slippery roads, poor visibility, and road closures were the primary causes. Mandi district recorded the highest number of road accident deaths with 19 fatalities, followed by Shimla (15), Kullu (8), Kangra (6), and Kinnaur (7).</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">493 Roads Still Closed in the State</h2>



<p>The SEOC report indicates that 493 roads remain closed due to heavy rainfall, landslides, and flash floods. 1,120 electricity transformers have been damaged, and 245 water supply schemes are affected. Districts like Mandi, Kullu, and Solan continue to face significant challenges. While the administration is working to restore services, they have urged people to avoid travelling in vulnerable mountainous areas.</p>

<p><strong>Ghana Helicopter Crash:</strong> A helicopter crash in Ghana has claimed the lives of eight people, including the country&#8217;s Defence Minister and Environment Minister. </p>



<p>The incident was confirmed by Ghana&#8217;s Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, on behalf of President John Mahama. He stated that the crash killed eight people, including Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammad.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Helicopter Crashes in Forest</h2>



<p>According to reports, the eight individuals, including Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammad, were travelling from Accra to Obuasi to attend an environmental program. Mid-flight, the helicopter lost radar contact and shortly after crashed in a dense forest.</p>



<p>The Ghanaian government has described the event as a tragic loss. The government statement confirmed the deaths of Minister Boamah, Minister Muhammad, the National Vice Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress, the National Security Advisor, and all crew members. The government declared this an irreplaceable loss to the nation, expressing condolences and ordering flags to be flown at half-mast until further notice.</p>



<p>Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah was a doctor by profession. He assumed his ministerial role in January of this year under President Mahama&#8217;s government. He was leading the country&#8217;s security strategies amidst growing jihadist threats on Ghana&#8217;s northern border, a region bordering Burkina Faso and known for its instability. Meanwhile, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammad, as Environment Minister, was actively cracking down on illegal mining.</p>



<p>The crashed helicopter was a Z-9 utility helicopter, commonly used for transport and medical services. An investigation into the accident has been launched, and the government has expressed its condolences to the families of the victims.</p>

<p><strong>Trump Tariff:</strong> A 25% tariff imposed by the US on India came into effect today. An additional 25% tariff will be levied from 27 August. US President Donald Trump stated in his executive order that the additional tariff is being imposed due to India&#8217;s purchase of Russian oil. </p>



<p>The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has responded sharply to Trump&#8217;s tariff, calling the Trump administration&#8217;s decision unfair and unwise. Indian industrialists have also responded strongly to the US tariffs. Indian industrialists Harsh Goenka and Anand Mahindra have offered suggestions to the Indian government on how to counter the American tariffs.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">India Will Not Bow Down</h2>



<p>Commenting on the tariffs imposed by the US, businessman Harsh Goenka stated on X: India will find better alternatives and become self-reliant. The US can impose tariffs on Indian exports, but not on India&#8217;s sovereignty. India will not bow down to anyone. Anand Mahindra also offered suggestions to the government on how to deal with the US tariffs. Mahindra stated that a single-window clearance system is necessary to attract more foreign investment into the country.</p>

<p>Mahindra stated that we need to make India stronger than before. India needs to take calculated steps. Mahindra said that radical changes are needed to maintain ease of doing business. <p>The Indian government has responded to Trump&#8217;s additional tariffs. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs stated that we buy oil based on market conditions. Our aim is to meet the energy needs of 1.4 billion Indians. It is unfortunate that the US is imposing additional tariffs on India, while many other countries are also doing the same. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Heavy Rainfall Disrupts Life in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh</h2>



<p>According to the latest updates from the meteorological department, heavy rainfall in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday caused a rapid surge in water flow in the Yamuna&#8217;s catchment area. </p>



<p>This torrential rain has rapidly increased the water level in the rivers, the impact of which is now reaching Delhi. The Irrigation Department&#8217;s control room confirmed that at 6 am on Wednesday, the Yamuna&#8217;s water level reached 73,749 cusecs, the highest level this season.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Yamuna in Spate, Record Water Level at Barrage</h2>



<p>On Wednesday, the water level of the Yamuna River at the Hathini Kund Barrage reached its peak this monsoon season. According to officials, water is flowing from the barrage towards Delhi at a rate of 6,520,600 cusecs per second. At 6 am, the water level was recorded at 73,749 cusecs, which has become a cause for concern. </p>



<p>The Yamunanagar district administration has issued an alert in view of this growing threat. The rising water level of the Yamuna could pose a major challenge for Delhi. The administration has advised people living in low-lying areas to exercise caution and take necessary steps. The next 72 hours could be crucial for the city, as the Yamuna&#8217;s water is poised to reach Delhi&#8217;s borders.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Monsoon Turns into a Worry Since Early August</h2>



<p>The monsoon&#8217;s generosity in Delhi-NCR has now started to cause concern. Waterlogging due to heavy rainfall is affecting daily life. Flood-like situations have arisen, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, and Himachal Pradesh due to heavy rainfall. In Delhi-NCR, it has been raining continuously since the beginning of August. </p>



<p>The meteorological department has now issued a heavy rainfall alert for the next week for Delhi-NCR and the adjoining states of Punjab and Haryana. A red alert for rainfall has been issued for Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Current Meteorological System</h2>



<p>IMD scientists have reported that a cyclone is currently active in the Bay of Bengal. There is also a possibility of a monsoon break in the coming days. According to meteorologists, while there is a possibility of a monsoon break, there is no chance of rain stopping in North India. That is, the cyclonic circulation forming in the Bay of Bengal near the southern Bay of Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh is conducive to rainfall for the next week.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What will be the weather in Delhi-NCR?</h2>



<p>As far as Delhi-NCR is concerned, the rain is likely to continue until August 11. Prior to this, Delhi witnessed four spells of heavy rainfall in July. Now, the meteorological department has forecast light to heavy showers in the national capital for the next week. </p>



<p>According to the IMD forecast, Delhi-NCR may experience light to heavy rainfall on August 8, 9, 10 and 11. Furthermore, heavy rainfall has been predicted for Haryana and Punjab for the next week. In Uttar Pradesh, intermittent rainfall is expected in various parts for the next 4-5 days.</p>

Nepali women alleges sexual assault insiide bus for two days in Patna, Driver Absconding


<p>A case of assault against a Nepali woman has come to light in Patna. Police have filed an FIR based on the victim&#8217;s statement and launched a search for the accused. Police, while providing information about the case, stated that the victim, upset with her family, first went to Siliguri. From there, she reached Patna. In Patna, a private bus driver allegedly assaulted her for two days before fleeing. The victim&#8217;s age is estimated to be around 25 years.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Police Launch Investigation</h2>



<p>Patna police refused to comment on the accused bus driver. However, sources say the accused driver is from Delhi. Police are conducting raids to arrest him. The victim told police that after a dispute with her family in Nepal, she fled home and first reached Siliguri in West Bengal. From there, she took a train and arrived in Patna two days ago.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Lured with the Promise of a Job</h2>



<p>The victim told police that upon exiting Patna station, she met the accused bus driver. He lured her with the promise of a job and took her near the Biscomaun-1 campus in the Airport police station area. The victim stated that the accused bus driver raped her inside the bus for two days. The victim alleges that the driver also stole her money and mobile phone.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Case Registered Based on Victim&#8217;s Statement</h2>



<p>The victim said that she somehow managed to escape and recounted her ordeal to Biscomaun personnel. With their help, she reached the police. Police say a case has been registered based on the victim&#8217;s statement and an investigation has begun. The accused is reported to be absconding. He has been identified. Police claim he will be arrested soon.</p>

Nine More Districts to Join MP&#39;s Metropolitan Regions


<p><strong>MP News:</strong> On Monday, the Madhya Pradesh Metropolitan Region Planning and Development Bill, 2025, was introduced in the Vidhan Sabha for the development of the Bhopal and Indore Metropolitan Regions. The Bhopal region will include Bhopal, Sehore, Raisen, Vidisha, and Rajgarh, while the Indore region will comprise Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, and Dhar. The bill includes provisions for the formation of a Metropolitan Area, a Metropolitan Planning Committee, a Metropolitan Area Development Authority, its executive committee, a Metropolitan Development and Special Planning Authority, and an Integrated Metropolitan Transport Authority.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Chief Minister to Head the Authority</h2>

<p>The Chief Minister will be the chairman of the authority. The ministers of three departments – Urban Development, Panchayat &amp; Rural Development, and Revenue – will be the vice-chairpersons. The Chief Secretary will be a member. An executive committee will be formed to implement the authority&#8217;s work. Its chairman will be the Metropolitan Commissioner. After the formation of the Metropolitan Authority, the power to grant development permissions will rest with it. The authority will also grant development permissions in the areas of the Area Development Plan and TDS. Government departments will also have to inform the authority before undertaking any construction. The authority will have the power to revoke permissions if objections are raised. The Metropolitan Commissioner will grant development permissions for private projects as well. There is a provision for appeal if development permission is not granted. Local bodies will continue to issue building permits at the local level.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Functions of the Metropolitan Authority</h2>



<p>● Assisting the planning committee in drafting the plan.</p>



<p>● Planning and development in areas outside the jurisdiction of development authorities.</p>



<p>● Development of projects spanning multiple authority jurisdictions.</p>



<p>● Coordination and implementation of projects and schemes.</p>



<p>● Management of the Metropolitan Development Fund and land bank.</p>



<p>● Planning and implementation of government-directed projects, schemes, or area development plans.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Metropolitan Development and Investment Plan</h2>



<p>The Metropolitan Area Development Plan will be prepared for a minimum of 15 years. It will define the economic development policy for the metropolitan area. It will outline the proper utilisation of all resources. It will comprehensively depict the uses of land in the region, including settlements, agricultural land, forests, barren land, water bodies, transportation, and industrial areas. Furthermore, it will set policies for infrastructure, tourism, watershed management, water supply, public amenities and services, transportation, public transport, industrial development, forest conservation, and the development of large infrastructure projects.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Plan Approval Process</h2>



<p>● The authority will prepare a draft plan, obtain approval from the Metropolitan Planning Committee, and then invite objections and suggestions.</p>



<p>● A committee will be formed to hear objections and suggestions and resolve them.</p>



<p>● After the hearing, the authority will send the draft plan, along with its report and the committee&#8217;s recommendations, to the government for approval.</p>



<p>● The final decision on the plan will rest with the state government. Work will commence only after approval.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Other Provisions</h2>



<p>● The government will create a Metropolitan Development Fund with an initial capital of ₹200 crore for administrative functions under the Act. Development charges and fees will be deposited into this fund.</p>



<p>● The Metropolitan Commissioner may authorise entry onto any building or land within their jurisdiction for investigations and surveys.</p>



<p>● If the Metropolitan Commissioner does not decide on a development permission application within 60 days, it will be deemed approved.</p>



<p>● The government will form an Integrated Transport Authority for the Metropolitan Area (Bhopal Indore Metropolitan Region). It will effectively implement and coordinate measures taken by various departments regarding transport and traffic.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Action for Violations of Development Permissions</h2>



<p>In the metropolitan area, for any development without authority approval, violation of development permission conditions, or failure to provide stipulated amenities, the Metropolitan Development Authority will issue a notice to provide the amenities within a specified time. Failure to comply will result in the Metropolitan Authority undertaking the development or providing the amenities itself, and recovering the entire cost as a penalty.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Development as per Plan</h2>



<p>Development in the metropolitan area will be in accordance with the Metropolitan Development and Investment Plan. The Metropolitan Area Development Authority will create plans and schemes and will be responsible for their approval.</p>

<p>In an interview with <em>The Guardian</em>, Chris Woakes revealed that while attempting to save a boundary, his hand slipped, and the full weight of his body fell on his shoulder, causing a popping sound. He said at that moment, the thought crossed his mind that his career was over. England&#8217;s physiotherapist then attempted to put his shoulder back in place; a 30-minute period of excruciating pain followed, eventually providing some relief.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">‘Glad I Didn’t Face Any Bouncers’</h2>



<p>Woakes said he contacted England&#8217;s head coach, Brendon McCullum, the next day, telling him he was ready to bat if needed. However, McCullum declined. Woakes wanted to face a ball but was also glad that while batting one-handed, he didn&#8217;t have to face any bouncers.</p>

<p>Secondary Education Director Sitaram Jat has issued orders for the transfer of 509 principals across the state. </p>



<p>The order states that the transferred principals should be relieved of their duties with immediate effect and assume charge at their new postings. They are also required to upload this information on the Shaala Darpan portal. </p>



<p>Omprakash Khatik of the Jahazpur region has been appointed as APO and attached to the Directorate of Secondary Education headquarters in Bikaner. ADE0 Secondary Education Vikas Joshi has been posted to the Government Senior Secondary School, Salmgarh, Pratapgarh.</p>



<p>It is noteworthy that for several months, the education department had been stating that there would be no transfers this time. Education Minister Madan Dilawar himself had reiterated this on various platforms. Despite this, teachers&#8217; organisations had consistently maintained that transfers would take place and would be sudden. The list includes 26 principals and officials from Bhilwara district, who have been transferred to different locations. Officials from other districts have also been posted to Bhilwara district.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">SSC Stenographer Exam 2025: When will the SSC Stenographer Exam be held?</h2>



<p>The SSC Stenographer examination will be held from 6 August to 8 August 2025 at various examination centres across the country. A total of 1,590 posts will be filled through this recruitment, including 230 Grade ‘C’ and 1,360 Grade ‘D’ posts. Candidates will be appointed to various ministries and departments of the central government. For some candidates who had requested a scribe, the deadline to register their scribe on the official SSC website was 2 August 2025. Instructions have been issued that only pre-registered scribes will be permitted entry to the examination centre.</p>

<p>National Bone and Joint Day is observed every year on 4 August. It aims to raise awareness about bone and joint health. In today&#8217;s digital age, those who spend all day sitting in front of laptops or computers are at the greatest risk. If you also remain glued to your office chair from morning till evening, this habit is slowly damaging your back, neck, and knees.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why is the Problem of Joint Problems Increasing?</h2>



<p>Dr. Amit Meena, Senior Consultant-Arthroplasty and Arthroscopy, Jaipur, explains that nowadays, complaints of back pain, neck stiffness, and knee pain are common even among young people aged 25-40. The biggest reason for this is sitting in one place for too long. Whether it&#8217;s the office or work from home, sitting all day without moving causes joint stiffness and muscle weakness in the body.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Seven mistakes that most office workers make daily</h2>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>1. Sitting continuously for hours</strong></h3>



<p>Sitting for long periods makes muscles and joints stiff.</p>

<li>Walk at least 50 steps every hour.</li>



<li>Take a 5-minute walk break every hour.</li>
