
<p><strong>Sawai Madhopur.</strong> A pregnant woman travelling from Gangapur City to Sawai Madhopur on a train delivered a baby onboard. The assistance provided by railway staff and fellow passengers during her labour is commendable. Both mother and child are reported to be safe.</p>



<p>The incident occurred in Sawai Madhopur district. A woman, along with her husband and three children, boarded the Nanda Devi Express in an AC coach from Gangapur City railway station. The family was reportedly travelling to Sawai Madhopur, but the woman went into labour before reaching the station.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Railway Medical Team Provides Assistance</h2>



<p>With the help of fellow passengers, the woman was quickly taken to the train&#8217;s toilet, where she safely delivered her baby. Her three children and husband remained with her throughout the ordeal. Upon arrival at Sawai Madhopur, the GRP (Government Railway Police) and the railway medical team immediately attended to them.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Admitted to the Hospital </h2>



<p>The railway medical team transported the mother and newborn to a hospital via ambulance, where they are receiving treatment. The incident took place in AC coach B-8 of the Nanda Devi Express train. According to reports, the mother is the wife of Kanhaiya, a resident of Hamir Puliya Kacchi Basti.</p>

<p><strong>Jammu Kashmir:</strong> Three army personnel died in a road accident in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. In an accident a vehicle plunged 700 feet into a gorge near Battery Chashma in Ramban in which three army personnel died. It is being reported that the accident occurred at around 11:30 am when an army truck, part of a convoy travelling from Jammu to Srinagar on National Highway 44, lost control.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rescue operation started</h2>



<p>Following the accident, a joint rescue operation was immediately launched with the help of the army, police, SDRF, and local volunteers. All three soldiers in the vehicle were found dead at the scene.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Vehicle Damaged in Accident</h2>



<p>The deceased have been identified as Sepoy Amit Kumar, Sujeet Kumar, and Man Bahadur. Their bodies are being recovered from the gorge. Officials said that the vehicle was completely damaged due to the accident.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">NH-44 Closed in Both Directions</h2>



<p>It is noteworthy that heavy damage was caused by a cloudburst in Ramban on Friday. National Highway 44 was closed in both directions due to mud on the road. Following this, the administration also alerted people. The administration advised people to travel only after receiving information about the highway being cleared.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Similar Incident in March</h2>



<p>It should be noted that a similar accident occurred in March. A goods vehicle carrying vegetables slipped off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Ramban district. Two people died in this accident.</p>

<p>It may be recalled that on January 4, an army truck fell into a deep gorge in Bandipora district. Four soldiers died in this accident and two were seriously injured. Six soldiers were in the truck.</p>

The platform was initially conceptualised in March 2025, when Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, and Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi, presented its framework at a Chief Electoral Officers’ conference.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Over 40 Services on a Single Platform</h2>



<p>A key feature of ECINet is its integration of over 40 existing mobile and web applications of the Election Commission. This includes popular apps such as Voter Helpline App, cVigil, Saksham, eSMS, KYC, Suvidha 2.0, and Voter Turnout, which have collectively been downloaded over 55 million times. The new system eliminates the need for users to download and log in to multiple apps.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">User-Friendly Interface and Reliable Data</h2>



<p>The platform is being designed with a user-friendly interface to ensure easy access to election-related information via smartphones or computers. To ensure data authenticity, only authorised election officials will be able to input information. However, in case of any dispute, legally filled forms will be considered the primary documents.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Extensive Reach and Benefits</h2>



<p>ECINet will benefit approximately 1 billion voters and over 10.5 lakh BLOs, 15 lakh BLAs, 45 lakh polling officials, 4,123 EROs, 15,597 AERO, and 767 District Election Officers involved in the electoral process. It aims to make the electoral process more transparent, accessible, and digitally empowered.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Within the Legal Framework</h2>



<p>The development of this digital platform involved consultations with election officials from all states and union territories, and a review of 9,000 pages across 76 election-related publications. The platform will operate fully within the ambit of the Representation of the People Act, 1950 &amp; 1951, the Electoral Registration Rules, 1960, and the Conduct of Election Rules, 1961.</p>

<p><strong>Government Terminates KV Subramanian from Service:</strong> The Indian government has terminated the services of Dr. Krishnamurthy V Subramanian, India&#8217;s Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), with immediate effect. This decision comes six months before the completion of his three-year term. Subramanian was appointed to this position in August 2022 and assumed office on 1 November 2022. His term was to run until November 2025, but the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) issued an order terminating his services on 30 April 2025.</p>

<p>The government has not provided any clear reason for Subramanian&#8217;s removal, leading to much speculation. Sources suggest that the decision was taken in the context of rising tensions between India and Pakistan and ahead of an IMF board review meeting on 9 May, which will discuss financial assistance to Pakistan. <p>The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct NEET UG-2025, the nation&#8217;s largest medical entrance examination, on 4 May. The exam will be held from 2 PM to 5 PM. Alwar district has established 24 examination centres. Entry to these centres will begin at 11 AM and close at 1:30 PM.</p>



<p>8952 students from the district will participate in this examination. The examination centres will be equipped with CCTV, biometric systems, and jammers. To prevent cheating and maintain order, 6 police and home guard personnel will be deployed at centres with a seating capacity of 480, while 10 personnel will be deployed at centres with a larger capacity. Five duty magistrates have been appointed. The District Nodal Officer for the examination is ADM City Bina Mahawar.</p>

<p>The 53rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will be played between the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR). This match, to be held at Kolkata&#8217;s Eden Gardens, is a &#8216;do-or-die&#8217; encounter for KKR, while Rajasthan, already eliminated from the playoff race, has nothing left to lose.</p>



<p>Rajasthan might test their bench strength in this match, potentially giving South African fast bowler, Quena Mafaka, a chance. Mafaka could replace Afghan bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi in the playing XI. Meanwhile, KKR could see the return of Moeen Ali, possibly replacing Rovman Powell.</p>



<p>Rajasthan&#8217;s bowling attack looks rather ordinary after the injuries to Sandeep Sharma and Wanindu Hasaranga. Among the bowlers, Chetan Sakariya has returned after a long time, while more is expected from Varun Chakravarthy, Harshit Rana, and Vaibhav Arora.</p>

<p>According to reports from Sacnilk, <em>Raid 2</em> earned approximately ₹18.25 crore net at the box office on its first day. The film showcases a clash between Ajay Devgn&#8217;s Amay Patnaik and Riteish Deshmukh&#8217;s  villainous Dada Manohar Bhai. The film is 2 hours 30 minutes long and was released on approximately 4,000 screens across the country.</p>

<p><strong>CG Accident:</strong> A promising student, Ashutosh Agrawal, tragically died in a horrific road accident in the Karli area of Dantewada district early Thursday morning. Ashutosh was preparing for the UPSC exam, and his untimely death has sent shockwaves of grief throughout Dantewada town. The accident occurred around 3:30 am on the Gidam police station road.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Injured Referred to Medical College</h2>



<p>According to reports, Ashutosh Agrawal was the eldest son of Prashant Agrawal, a prominent businessman in the town. Late at night, after finishing his studies, he went for a ride on an Activa scooter with Krishna Yadav, who works at his shop. During this time, on the Police Line Karli road, a high-speed Innova vehicle, in an attempt to avoid a buffalo, collided violently with their scooter and then fled the scene. A high-speed vehicle is described in this report.</p>



<p>Both Ashutosh Agrawal and Krishna Yadav were seriously injured in the accident. With the help of local people, they were brought to Dantewada District Hospital, where doctors declared that Ashutosh&#8217;s life could not be saved due to a ruptured liver. Krishna Yadav has been referred to the Medical College in Jagdalpur.</p>
