<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Firing from Pakistani Military Posts, Army Responds Strongly</h2>



<p>Following the terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Pakistan has been engaging in firing across the Line of Control (LoC). Incidents of firing from the Pakistani side have been reported over the past two days. The Indian Army has responded strongly to this firing from Pakistani military posts. The army reported that on the night of 25-26 April, firing was carried out from various Pakistani army posts across the LoC in Kashmir. This firing, using small arms, was unprovoked. Indian soldiers responded appropriately with small arms fire. According to the army, there are no reports of casualties in this firing. Earlier, on Friday, there was also firing across the LoC. This firing was also initiated by Pakistan. The Indian Army responded effectively to this firing.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">General Upendra Dwivedi Takes Stock of Security Arrangements</h2>



<p>The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, arrived in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. The army chief held several important meetings here. The army chief met with the Lieutenant Governor. The army chief took stock of the security arrangements from the state&#8217;s Director General of Police. The army chief also inspected military preparations with the chief of the army&#8217;s Northern Command, Lieutenant General M.V. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Major Action Against Infiltrators, Over 500 Detained</h2>



<p>Gujarat Police, in a large-scale operation against infiltrators, has detained over 557 people in Ahmedabad and Surat. The Ahmedabad Crime Branch apprehended 457 infiltrators in the Chandola area, while Surat police detained over 100 Bangladeshi citizens in various areas. Interrogation is underway, and they will be deported after the investigation is complete. Joint Commissioner of Police, Ahmedabad Crime Branch, Sharad Singhal, said that this operation was carried out on the instructions of the Minister of State for Home, DGP, and Police Commissioner. 70 out of 127 Bangladeshi citizens apprehended in earlier investigations have already been deported.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">UN Security Council Condemns Attack, Emphasises Accountability</h2>



<p>The United Nations Security Council strongly condemned the terrorist attack in the Beasaran Valley of Pahalgam. Council members called for holding accountable the organisers, perpetrators, and financiers who promote terrorist activities. In this attack, which occurred on April 22nd, 26 people were shot dead.</p>



<p>In a press statement issued on Friday, the 15-member Security Council reiterated that terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations, constitutes a threat to international peace and security. Member states expressed their deepest sympathy and condolences to the bereaved families, the Government of India, and the Government of Nepal. They wished for a speedy recovery for the injured.</p>

<p>Kota city in Rajasthan is experiencing a significant heatwave. On Friday, the maximum temperature soared to 43.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature rose by 2 degrees to 26.9 degrees Celsius. Wind speed remained at 7 km per hour. Amidst the rising temperatures, a change in weather is anticipated.</p>



<p>According to the Meteorological Department, a new western disturbance will become active on 26 April (today). Its impact is expected to bring thunderstorms, light rain, and strong winds or dust storms in the afternoon across several districts, including Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur, and Kota. In view of this, the department has issued a yellow alert. However, this relief is not expected to last long.</p>



<p>From 27 April, a period of intense heat is expected to return, with a possibility of a heatwave developing by 29 April. People are advised to exercise caution.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Relief from Heatwave Expected in May</h2>



<p>The Meteorological Department has predicted another change in weather during the first week of May. The influence of easterly winds and continuously active western disturbances could increase the frequency of storms and rain, leading to a drop in temperature and providing relief from the heatwave.</p>


<p>Weather Update: A fresh western disturbance will become active on 26 April, i.e., today. Due to its influence, several districts including Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur, and Kota, and surrounding areas may experience thunderstorms, light rain, and strong winds or dust storms in the afternoon.</p>

<p><strong>UP Board Result Live:</strong> The Uttar Pradesh Board examination results were declared on Friday, 24 April 2025. Director of Secondary Education, Dr. Mahendra Dev, and UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh announced the results. This year, 81.15% of students passed the 12th-grade examination, while 90.11% passed the 10th-grade examination. The pass percentage of prisoners was 5% higher than that of students.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Prisoner Performance</h2>



<p>Considering the Uttar Pradesh Board examination results, 91 out of 105 prisoners passed the intermediate (12th grade) examination, achieving a pass percentage of 86%. This is 5% higher than the 81.15% pass rate for students. In the 10th-grade examination, 91 out of 94 prisoners who took the exam from jail passed, resulting in a 96% pass percentage. Compared to the last 5 years, there has been a 17% increase in the pass percentage (83% in 2020).</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">12th Grade Results</h2>



<p>In the Uttar Pradesh Board examination results, 81.15% of students passed the 12th grade. A total of 27,05,017 students appeared for the 12th-grade exam this year, including 14,58,983 boys and 12,46,024 girls.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">10th Grade Results</h2>



<p>In the Uttar Pradesh Board examination results, 90.11% of students passed the 10th grade. This year, there were 14,49,736 boys and 12,82,458 girls who appeared for the exam. Girls achieved a pass percentage of 93.87%, while boys achieved 86.66%, a difference of 7.21%.</p>

<p>India formally informed Pakistan on Thursday of its decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty with immediate effect, citing Islamabad&#8217;s violation of the treaty&#8217;s terms. Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary, Ministry of Jal Shakti, wrote to the Secretary of Pakistan&#8217;s Ministry of Water Resources. The letter, written by Debashree Mukherjee to Syed Ali Murtaza, Secretary, Pakistan&#8217;s Ministry of Water Resources, stated: “The Government of India has decided that the Indus Waters Treaty, 1960, will be suspended with immediate effect.”</p>



<p>The decision to suspend the decades-old treaty follows a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists. India stated that cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistan targeting Jammu and Kashmir directly impedes India&#8217;s rights under the Indus Waters Treaty. The 1960 treaty allocates the eastern rivers Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi to India and the western rivers Indus, Jhelum, and Chenab to Pakistan.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Cross-Border Terrorism Continues</h2>



<p>The letter reads: “Respectful adherence to a treaty is fundamental to its basis. However, we have witnessed continued cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistan targeting the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.” The letter further states that the resulting security uncertainties have directly hampered the full exercise of India&#8217;s rights under the treaty. The letter adds: “Furthermore, in addition to other violations committed by it, Pakistan has refused to respond to India’s request to enter into consultations envisaged under the Treaty and has thus violated the Treaty.”</p>



<p>Following the Pahalgam terrorist attack, India announced several strong policy measures. The Cabinet Committee on Security decided to temporarily halt the Indus Waters Treaty and suspend visa services for Pakistani citizens with immediate effect. Additionally, the number of staff at the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi has been reduced from 55 to 30.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Visas Cancelled from 27 April</h2>



<p>The Ministry of External Affairs stated on Thursday that all existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani citizens will be cancelled from 27 April 2025. Medical visas issued to Pakistani citizens will only be valid until 29 April 2025. All Pakistani nationals currently in the country must leave India before the revised visa expiry date. Meanwhile, Indian citizens have been strongly advised against travelling to Pakistan, and those currently in Pakistan have been advised to return home as soon as possible.</p>



<p>On Thursday, India briefed top diplomats from around 20 countries on the Pahalgam attack and India&#8217;s stance. These countries include the US, UK, Russia, the European Union, Italy, Qatar, Japan, China, Germany, France, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, the UAE, and Norway. Their diplomats were summoned to the Ministry of External Affairs in South Block.</p>



<p>The terrorist attack in the Baisaran Valley, Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on 22 April, shocked the nation. The attack resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists, including 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen, with several others injured. The terrorist group ‘The Resistance Front’, linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack. The incident has once again heightened tensions in India-Pakistan relations.</p>

MP now to offer one job per family, officials told to implement


<p><strong>MP News:</strong> Finding employment is challenging for ordinary people. In response, the government plans to provide employment to at least one family member. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav instructed officials to this effect during a review meeting of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) department on Friday. He stated that the state has immense potential for development. Every sector is full of promise; work needs to be done at the grassroots level. Through MSMEs, at least one person in every family can be provided with employment or self-employment.</p>



<p>With an investment of ₹55,000 crore, 17.55 lakh registered MSME units are operating in the state, providing jobs to over 92 lakh people. There are 5,300 start-ups, with more than 2,500 led by women. Investors are being given details related to the land bank, and over 1,100 plots will be available for allotment from 1 May. Departmental minister Chaitanya Kashyap was also present at the meeting. The CM instructed the department to organise a grand event on MSME Day (27 June) in Indore, followed by another in Bhopal in September.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Open Small Units in Districts, Starting with Ratlam</strong></h2>



<p>CM Mohan Yadav said, &#8220;Rapidly expand activities according to the circumstances and capabilities of each district. Expand entrepreneurship by connecting youth with micro-industries such as oil mills, spice-flour mills, and processing units for kodo millet, kutki and other millets. Modernise agricultural produce markets. These should include facilities for safe storage of milk, vegetables, etc., starting with Ratlam.&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>State Ranked 7th in MSME Development</strong></h2>



<p>Madhya Pradesh is ranked 7th in the country in MSME development. The CM said, &#8220;We have to secure a top position for the state by next year.&#8221; The year 2025 is being celebrated as the Year of Industry and Employment, therefore, Industry-Employment Day will be celebrated at two-month intervals. Powerloom units will be started. Regional-level camps will be held to improve skill enhancement and technical proficiency with the help of experts.</p>



<p>The Tech Growth Conclave organised by the Department of Science and Technology will be held at the Brilliant Convention Centre in Indore on 27 April. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, Siemens-EDA, Tholons, Yotta, CTRLS Data Centers, Rackbank, and Netlink will participate. These companies have given their consent. The conclave will focus on the animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, and extended reality industries.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>CM to Hold One-on-One Discussions</strong></h2>



<p>CM Dr. Mohan Yadav will hold one-on-one discussions with representatives of the major companies attending the conclave. In the morning, sectoral roundtables will discuss GCC, IT, ITeS, semiconductors, drones, and AVGC-XR. Discussions will focus on partnerships. In the afternoon, there will be one-on-one meetings between the CM and industrialists.</p>


<p>MP News: Finding employment remains a challenge for ordinary people. In response, the government is planning to provide employment to at least one member of each family. CM Dr. Mohan Yadav  gave instructions to officials in this regard during a review meeting of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) department.</p>

<p><strong>CSK vs SRH Highlights:</strong> Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered another home defeat in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) on Friday, virtually ending their playoff hopes. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), on the other hand, secured a five-wicket victory in the tournament&#8217;s 43rd match, keeping their own playoff aspirations alive. A large crowd turned out at Chepauk to support Dhoni&#8217;s team, but CSK&#8217;s consistent losses this season left fans disappointed once again. Hyderabad, meanwhile, secured their third win of the season and their first-ever victory against CSK at the latter&#8217;s home ground.</p>

<p><strong>Ground Zero Box Office Collection Day 1:</strong> Sunny Deol&#8217;s <em>Jaat</em> saw its lowest single-day earnings on its 16th day of release. On Friday, its collection plummeted from crores to lakhs. Meanwhile, <em>Kesari 2</em> earned even more on Friday than it did on Thursday. Amidst this, Imran Hashmi&#8217;s film, <em>Ground Zero</em> has also been released. While <em>Jaat</em> had dominated the box office since its opening, <em>Kesari 2</em> is now surging ahead of all competitors. <em>Ground Zero&#8217;s</em> opening collection was extremely disappointing. The film was expected to perform exceptionally well, but this did not happen.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><em>Jaat</em> Film&#8217;s 16th Day Performance </h2>



<p>Besides Sunny Deol, <em>Jaat</em> also stars Randeep Hooda. This marks the first time both stars have worked together. Made on a budget of ₹100 crore, <em>Jaat</em> collected ₹90 lakh on its 16th day of release, Friday, 25 April—its lowest collection to date. The film&#8217;s total collection now stands at ₹81.65 crore. It was anticipated that the film would soon enter the ₹100 crore club and recoup its budget, but this now seems unlikely. However, the makers hope for a resurgence at the box office over the weekend.</p>

<p>Turning to <em>Kesari 2</em>, Akshay Kumar&#8217;s film has shown its mettle on its eighth day. On its eighth day of release, <em>Kesari 2</em> surpassed all other films, entering the ₹50 crore club. The film collected a strong ₹4.15 crore on Friday, 24 April, its eighth day of release. Its total earnings now stand at ₹50.25 crore. It is anticipated that the film will recoup its losses over the weekend, achieving what it should have done on its opening day a week later.</p>

<p><strong>UP Weather Update:</strong> According to the meteorological department, Uttar Pradesh&#8217;s weather will change from 26 April, with rain and thunderstorms likely in several districts until 29 April. The meteorological department has issued warnings for the affected areas.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Weather to Change from 26 April</h2>



<p>In Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh, cloudy skies are expected on 27 April, with a high probability of rain between 28 and 30 April. Light rain is possible in Azamgarh on 27 April, with strong winds and rain anticipated on 28 April. Ayodhya will experience cloudy skies on 26 April, with a likelihood of rainfall on 27 and 28 April. Ballia and Deoria are also under an alert for rain and strong winds on 27 and 28 April.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rain Possible in Eastern Uttar Pradesh</h2>



<p>Light to moderate rainfall, strong winds (40-60 km per hour), and thunderstorms are predicted for eastern Uttar Pradesh between 26 and 29 April. While this change in weather is expected to bring relief from the heat, caution is advised due to the adverse weather conditions.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Current Temperature Status in UP</h2>



<p>According to the meteorological department, the weather remained dry in both meteorological divisions of Uttar Pradesh during the last 24 hours. On Tuesday, there was no significant change in daytime temperatures across all divisions of the state. Daytime temperatures remained significantly higher than normal (+3.1°C to +5.0°C) in Varanasi (Varanasi, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Jaunpur), Ayodhya (Ambedkar Nagar, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Amethi), and Agra (Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Mathura) divisions, and higher than normal (+1.6°C to +3.0°C) in all divisions except Kanpur (Etawah, Itawa, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat). Daytime temperatures in the Kanpur division remained normal (-1.5°C to +1.5°C). The highest maximum temperature in the state on Tuesday was recorded at 43.3°C in Varanasi (BHU).</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Heavy Rainfall Warning for Northeast India</h2>



<p>Meanwhile, the meteorological department has also stated that heatwave conditions will persist in Northwest India until 29 April and in East and Central India until 26 April. Furthermore, a warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for Northeast India until 27 April. A new spell of rain, along with strong winds and lightning, may begin in East India between 26 and 28 April.</p>
