
<p><strong>SSC MTS 2025 Correction Window:</strong> Good news for young people preparing for the SSC MTS exam. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has opened the correction window for the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and Havaldar recruitment exam 2025 today, 4 August. Candidates can make necessary changes to their application forms until 6 August 2025. The correction window was initially scheduled from 29 July to 31 July, but the dates have been extended. To make changes, candidates must log in to the official SSC website, ssc.gov.in, using their application number and password.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Changeable Information</h2>



<p>Candidates can only make changes to specific information, including: candidate&#8217;s name, parents&#8217; names, date of birth, gender, and class 10 roll number.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Correction Fee</h2>



<p>The commission has allowed two opportunities for application form corrections. The fee for the first correction is ₹200, while the fee for the second correction is ₹500. Candidates should note that more than two corrections are not permitted.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Number of Posts and Exam Pattern</h2>



<p>A total of 1089 vacancies will be filled under this recruitment drive. These include Group-C posts such as peon, gardener, watchman, Jamadar, and gatekeeper in various central government departments, along with Havaldar posts in CBIC and CBN. The computer-based exam will be conducted between 20 September and 24 October 2025. The SSC MTS and Havaldar exam will be held in two sessions (Session-I and Session-II). Attendance in both sessions is mandatory. Questions will be asked on subjects such as Reasoning Ability, Numerical Aptitude, English Language, and General Awareness.</p>

<p>In a joint operation by the Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh police, two individuals were arrested on Monday from the Badlapur area of Thane district. Both accused are members of a WhatsApp group where discussions allegedly revolved around topics like ‘jihad’ and incitement of youth towards extremist ideology.</p>



<p>According to police officials, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) received information about the spread of extremism through this group. Based on this information, the UP ATS and Maharashtra Police raided a house in Badlapur and apprehended two suspects.</p>



<p>One of the arrested accused is a resident of Uttar Pradesh, while the other is a local resident of Badlapur. Interrogation revealed that some members of this WhatsApp group were also in contact with handlers based in Pakistan.</p>



<p>It is reported that the group was used to mentally prepare youth for a terrorist organisation. Officials stated that the frequent use and open discussion of the word ‘jihad’ in the group indicated its use for spreading extremism.</p>



<p>One accused had already been arrested in UP. Interrogation of this individual led the investigating agency to these two other accused residing near Mumbai. Subsequently, a raid was conducted in Thane with the assistance of the Maharashtra ATS.</p>



<p>Both accused have been handed over to the UP ATS, and a thorough investigation is underway. The police and ATS are also investigating the motive behind this network and the Pakistan connection.</p>

<p>The Rajasthan government has swung into action to curb accidents caused by dilapidated buildings. So far, 4276 dilapidated buildings have been identified. Of these, 175 have been demolished and 205 sealed. </p>



<p>Action is pending on 1533 buildings, while the owners of 2362 dilapidated buildings have been asked to vacate them. Many of these properties are entangled in legal disputes.</p>



<p>The Department of Local Self-Government has asked all municipal bodies to seal or demolish dilapidated buildings and submit reports. They have also been instructed to ensure that warning boards are displayed in front of such buildings and warned against negligence. </p>



<p>Jodhpur city tops the list, with both its north and south municipal corporations having 322 dilapidated buildings. Bikaner has 150, and Jaipur Heritage has 126 identified buildings.</p>

<p><strong>Huge Fire:</strong> News of a major incident is emerging from Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. A massive fire broke out Tuesday morning in the Haryana Handloom complex located in the Gandhi Chowk area. The fire quickly engulfed dozens of nearby shops. The intensity of the fire caused panic in nearby establishments, including Bharati Press, Bharati Tower Hotel, and Haryana Handloom, within minutes.</p>



<p>According to eyewitnesses, the flames rapidly consumed the three-story building. The building reportedly housed a gym and several other shops.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Fear of People Trapped</h2>



<p>There are fears that some people may be trapped inside the hotel. Following the incident, local police and administrative officials arrived at the scene and rescue operations have begun. The heavy smoke and fire are continuously hindering relief efforts. Eyewitnesses report that while the fire brigade arrived promptly, a lack of equipment and coordination is making it extremely challenging to control the fire.</p>

<p>Locals are accusing the fire brigade of inadequate arrangements. The lack of sufficient resources and timely effective action has allowed the fire to spread further. Additional fire engines are being brought in from other areas to control the situation. While the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected to be due to a short circuit or contact with flammable material. Administrative officials are on the scene assessing the situation.</p>

Nine More Districts to Join MP&#39;s Metropolitan Regions


<p><strong>MP News:</strong> On Monday, the Madhya Pradesh Metropolitan Region Planning and Development Bill, 2025, was introduced in the Vidhan Sabha for the development of the Bhopal and Indore Metropolitan Regions. The Bhopal region will include Bhopal, Sehore, Raisen, Vidisha, and Rajgarh, while the Indore region will comprise Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, and Dhar. The bill includes provisions for the formation of a Metropolitan Area, a Metropolitan Planning Committee, a Metropolitan Area Development Authority, its executive committee, a Metropolitan Development and Special Planning Authority, and an Integrated Metropolitan Transport Authority.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Chief Minister to Head the Authority</h2>

<p>The Chief Minister will be the chairman of the authority. The ministers of three departments – Urban Development, Panchayat &amp; Rural Development, and Revenue – will be the vice-chairpersons. The Chief Secretary will be a member. An executive committee will be formed to implement the authority&#8217;s work. Its chairman will be the Metropolitan Commissioner. After the formation of the Metropolitan Authority, the power to grant development permissions will rest with it. The authority will also grant development permissions in the areas of the Area Development Plan and TDS. Government departments will also have to inform the authority before undertaking any construction. The authority will have the power to revoke permissions if objections are raised. The Metropolitan Commissioner will grant development permissions for private projects as well. There is a provision for appeal if development permission is not granted. Local bodies will continue to issue building permits at the local level.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Functions of the Metropolitan Authority</h2>



<p>● Assisting the planning committee in drafting the plan.</p>



<p>● Planning and development in areas outside the jurisdiction of development authorities.</p>



<p>● Development of projects spanning multiple authority jurisdictions.</p>



<p>● Coordination and implementation of projects and schemes.</p>



<p>● Management of the Metropolitan Development Fund and land bank.</p>



<p>● Planning and implementation of government-directed projects, schemes, or area development plans.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Metropolitan Development and Investment Plan</h2>



<p>The Metropolitan Area Development Plan will be prepared for a minimum of 15 years. It will define the economic development policy for the metropolitan area. It will outline the proper utilisation of all resources. It will comprehensively depict the uses of land in the region, including settlements, agricultural land, forests, barren land, water bodies, transportation, and industrial areas. Furthermore, it will set policies for infrastructure, tourism, watershed management, water supply, public amenities and services, transportation, public transport, industrial development, forest conservation, and the development of large infrastructure projects.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Plan Approval Process</h2>



<p>● The authority will prepare a draft plan, obtain approval from the Metropolitan Planning Committee, and then invite objections and suggestions.</p>



<p>● A committee will be formed to hear objections and suggestions and resolve them.</p>



<p>● After the hearing, the authority will send the draft plan, along with its report and the committee&#8217;s recommendations, to the government for approval.</p>



<p>● The final decision on the plan will rest with the state government. Work will commence only after approval.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Other Provisions</h2>



<p>● The government will create a Metropolitan Development Fund with an initial capital of ₹200 crore for administrative functions under the Act. Development charges and fees will be deposited into this fund.</p>



<p>● The Metropolitan Commissioner may authorise entry onto any building or land within their jurisdiction for investigations and surveys.</p>



<p>● If the Metropolitan Commissioner does not decide on a development permission application within 60 days, it will be deemed approved.</p>



<p>● The government will form an Integrated Transport Authority for the Metropolitan Area (Bhopal Indore Metropolitan Region). It will effectively implement and coordinate measures taken by various departments regarding transport and traffic.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Action for Violations of Development Permissions</h2>



<p>In the metropolitan area, for any development without authority approval, violation of development permission conditions, or failure to provide stipulated amenities, the Metropolitan Development Authority will issue a notice to provide the amenities within a specified time. Failure to comply will result in the Metropolitan Authority undertaking the development or providing the amenities itself, and recovering the entire cost as a penalty.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Development as per Plan</h2>



<p>Development in the metropolitan area will be in accordance with the Metropolitan Development and Investment Plan. The Metropolitan Area Development Authority will create plans and schemes and will be responsible for their approval.</p>

<p>The LT Grade teacher recruitment in Uttar Pradesh, one of the most talked-about recruitments in the education sector, is witnessing tremendous enthusiasm among candidates this time. The number of One Time Registrations (OTR) for this recruitment, released after seven years, has broken all previous records. In just 21 days, over four lakh new candidates completed the OTR process, which is unprecedented for any recruitment.</p>



<p>This unprecedented number suggests that the total number of applicants this time could exceed 10 lakh, potentially surpassing the record of 10,76,004 applications for the RO/ARO preliminary examination 2023.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Recruitment Process</h2>



<p>The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) issued a short advertisement on 14 July 2025 for recruitment to 7,466 posts of LT Grade teachers. The commission also clarified that all candidates must obtain an OTR number before the online application process begins on 28 July, as no application will be accepted without an OTR.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Figures So Far</h2>



<ul>
<li>Until 14 July: 21.75 lakh candidates were registered through OTR.</li>



<li>From 15 July to 4 August (21 days): The registration number increased to 25,80,953.</li>



<li>That is: Over four lakh new OTRs in 21 days.</li>
</ul>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">2018 Recruitment vs. 2025 Expectations</h2>



<p>It is noteworthy that the advertisement for LT Grade teacher recruitment was last issued in 2018. Then, the recruitment process was conducted for a total of 10,768 posts, with 7,62,317 candidates applying. In these seven years, not only have millions of new B.Ed candidates emerged, but also old candidates waiting for jobs are applying this time. This is why there is a strong possibility that the number of applications this time will exceed 10 lakh.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Key Demands of the Candidates</h2>



<p><strong>1. Demand for Relaxation in Age Limit</strong><br>A delegation of the competitive student union submitted a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath through Panchayati Raj Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar, demanding relaxation in the upper age limit for LT Grade teacher and lecturer recruitment.</p>



<p>The memorandum argued that the last recruitment was in 2018, and no advertisement came for a long time after that, due to which many candidates have now crossed the maximum age limit. If the government grants some years of relaxation in the age limit, thousands of competitors can be relieved. Prominent names among those who submitted the memorandum include Sheetla Prasad Ojha, Ranvijay Singh, Alok Singh, Bhaskar Singh, Gaurav Yadav, Amit Rajbhar, Rajesh Pandey, and Vivek Chandra Dwivedi.</p>



<p><strong>2. Demand for OMR-based Questions in the Main Examination</strong><br>Both preliminary and main examinations will be conducted in this stage of the LT Grade teacher recruitment. However, the commission has clarified that short and long answer questions, which will be of an essay nature, will be asked in the main examination. Candidates have opposed this and demanded that the main examination should also be OMR-based objective, so that the evaluation process can be transparent and quick.</p>



<p>Sunil Kumar of the GIC Sangharsh Morcha says, &#8220;If no concrete decision is taken quickly at the government level, the candidates will continue their protest through democratic means such as protests, sit-ins, and submitting memorandums.&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Reasons for Such a Large Number of Registrations</h2>



<ul>
<li><strong>Recruitment after a long time:</strong> Recruitment for LT Grade posts is happening after 7 years.</li>



<li><strong>Increase in the number of B.Ed holders:</strong> Lakhs of students have done B.Ed in the past years.</li>



<li><strong>Attraction of government jobs:</strong> Amidst rising unemployment and instability in private educational institutions, a government teacher&#8217;s job is considered a secure option.</li>



<li><strong>Clear eligibility and number of posts:</strong> The recruitment rules and the number of posts have also attracted young people.</li>
</ul>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">UPPSC&#8217;s Estimation and Next Steps</h2>



<p>Officials estimate that at the rate at which the OTR numbers are increasing, this recruitment could become one of the largest competitive examinations ever. The last date for application is fixed as 28 August, after which the final figure will be revealed regarding the total number of candidates who participated in this much-awaited recruitment.</p>

<p>Rewa Gangwar Firing: In a blatant challenge to law and order, bike-borne youths created chaos in the city. A gang war (Rewa Gangwar) erupted between two groups, with weapon-wielding youths attacking each other. The accused also fired from country-made pistols. The incident created a panic in the entire neighbourhood. Police, arriving at the scene, sent two injured individuals to the hospital.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Over 12 Youths Arrived on Bikes</h2>



<p>The incident is reported from the Indira Nagar neighbourhood under the Samaan police station. Around 12 youths, riding bikes, gathered in a field. Simultaneously, a similar number of youths from the opposing group arrived, armed with weapons. A fierce fight ensued between the two groups. The accused attacked each other with hockey sticks, rods, and other weapons, terrifying the locals. The field turned into a battleground, with the accused wreaking havoc unchecked. Reports also suggest that the accused fired shots.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Injured Admitted to Hospital, Treatment Underway</h2>



<p>Locals informed the police, who arrived at the scene. The fleeing accused attacked a youth in the ViVi police station area, hitting him with the butt of a pistol, injuring him. Police arriving at the scene found two youths injured and sent them to the hospital for treatment. The injured have been identified as Aryan Singh and Ritik Sen.</p>



<p>Police are currently waiting for the injured to recover before recording their statements. The initial investigation has not revealed the cause of the dispute or the names of the accused. However, the police are currently denying that any shots were fired.</p>

<p><strong>Ganpati Festival 2025 Special Trains:</strong> Central Railway has announced 44 new special trains for the upcoming Ganpati Mahotsav, bringing much-needed relief to Ganesh devotees. Two additional services have also been added to the Diva-Chiplun-Diva MEMU daily unreserved trains. This announcement increases the total number of Ganpati special trains from 250 to 296.</p>



<p>Ganpati Festival is considered the biggest and most grand festival in Maharashtra, especially in Mumbai and the Konkan region. Millions of devotees travel to their villages during this time. Every year, the railway runs special trains to manage this crowd and ease travel for the people. This year, the number of services has been further increased, providing significant relief to passengers.</p>



<p>A key addition is a bi-weekly special train between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) and Sawantwadi Road, operating a total of 8 trips. This train will depart from LTT at 8:45 AM on Thursdays and Sundays (28 August, 31 August, 4 September, and 7 September), arriving at Sawantwadi Road at 10:20 PM the same day.</p>



<p>The return journey from Sawantwadi Road will depart at 11:20 PM on the same dates, arriving at LTT, Mumbai at 12:30 PM the next day. This train will have 20 stops, including major stations like Thane, Panvel, Roha, Ratnagiri, Kudal, and Sindhudurg. The train&#8217;s composition will include two AC-3 tier coaches, twelve sleeper coaches, six general second-class coaches, and two guard brake vans.</p>



<p>Furthermore, 36 services of MEMU daily unreserved special trains between Diva and Khed will be introduced. From Diva, the train will depart daily at 1:40 PM from 22 August to 8 September, reaching Khed at 8:00 PM the same day. The return train will depart from Khed at 8:00 AM daily from 23 August to 9 September, arriving at Diva at 1:00 PM. This train, an 8-coach MEMU rake, will stop at several local stations including Panvel, Roha, Indapur, and Vinhere.</p>



<p>Two additional services have also been added to the previously announced Diva-Chiplun-Diva MEMU daily unreserved special trains. This train will now operate 40 trips and run from 22 August to 10 September. The railway has also simplified the reservation system for passenger convenience.</p>



<p>Bookings for Ganpati Special Train number 01131 commenced on 3 August at all computerised reservation centres and on the website <a href="www.irctc.co.in">www.irctc.co.in</a>. Tickets for unreserved compartments can be purchased through the UTS app or at the station, and the fare will be as per the usual charges for superfast mail/express trains.</p>



<p>With this addition, the total number of previously announced 250 trains has increased to 296. This initiative by the railway is a boon for the thousands of Ganesh devotees who travel from Mumbai and surrounding areas to Konkan during Ganesh Utsav. This will ensure a safe and convenient journey for these passengers.</p>

<p>Secondary Education Director Sitaram Jat has issued orders for the transfer of 509 principals across the state. </p>



<p>The order states that the transferred principals should be relieved of their duties with immediate effect and assume charge at their new postings. They are also required to upload this information on the Shaala Darpan portal. </p>



<p>Omprakash Khatik of the Jahazpur region has been appointed as APO and attached to the Directorate of Secondary Education headquarters in Bikaner. ADE0 Secondary Education Vikas Joshi has been posted to the Government Senior Secondary School, Salmgarh, Pratapgarh.</p>



<p>It is noteworthy that for several months, the education department had been stating that there would be no transfers this time. Education Minister Madan Dilawar himself had reiterated this on various platforms. Despite this, teachers&#8217; organisations had consistently maintained that transfers would take place and would be sudden. The list includes 26 principals and officials from Bhilwara district, who have been transferred to different locations. Officials from other districts have also been posted to Bhilwara district.</p>

The biggest reason for this is sitting in one place for too long. Whether it&#8217;s the office or work from home, sitting all day without moving causes joint stiffness and muscle weakness in the body.</p>

<p>Sitting for long periods makes muscles and joints stiff.</p>

Krishna Janmashtami 2025: Four Auspicious Muhurats for Worship


<p>Krishna Janmashtami, the festival celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna, is observed with great devotion and faith across India. According to scriptures, Lord Krishna was born at midnight on the Ashtami Tithi of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada. In 2025, this Tithi will begin at 11:49 PM on 15 August and end at 9:34 PM on 16 August.</p>



<p>According to religious beliefs, those following the Smarta Sampradaya will celebrate Janmashtami on 15 August, while the Vaishnava Sampradaya will celebrate the birth anniversary on 16 August. If you are planning to perform puja at home, you can worship Lord Krishna during any of the four auspicious muhurats given below.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Brahma Muhurat (4:24 AM to 5:07 AM)</h2>



<p>Brahma Muhurat is considered the purest and most tranquil time of the day. Worship during this time provides mental peace and spiritual energy. Those who are not observing a fast can wake up early, bathe, and perform their devotion to Kanha Ji during this time.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Vijaya Muhurat (2:37 PM to 3:30 PM)</h2>



<p>Vijaya Muhurat is believed to bestow success and auspicious results. Worshipping Lord Krishna during this time maintains peace and prosperity in the home and ensures success in all endeavours.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Nishita Muhurat (12:04 AM to 12:47 AM)</h2>



<p>This is the time when Lord Krishna descended to Earth. During this time, perform an abhisheka (ritual bath) of Lord Krishna with Panchamrit (a mixture of five nectars), dress him in new clothes, and swing his cradle (jhula). This puja is considered the most fruitful.</p>

<p>The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has announced a significant gift for the state&#8217;s women ahead of Raksha Bandhan. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared that women will receive free travel on UP Roadways (UPSRTC) and urban bus services from 6 am on August 8th to 12 am on August 10th. This facility will be available across Uttar Pradesh for three days.</p>



<p>Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made this announcement during a crucial meeting at his official residence. This free travel facility for women has been provided with Raksha Bandhan in mind, enabling them to meet their brothers and celebrate the festival joyfully.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Gift Repeated from Last Year</h2>



<p>It is noteworthy that this is not the first time the Yogi government has offered this gift to women on Raksha Bandhan. A similar facility was provided last year, and it is being repeated this year. This initiative has been undertaken with a focus on women&#8217;s safety and convenience.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Focus on Janmashtami Preparations</h2>



<p>Along with the announcement of the free bus service, the Chief Minister also gave necessary instructions to officials regarding the upcoming Janmashtami festival. He explicitly stated that arrangements for cleanliness, security, and crowd control must be strictly ensured during the festival. Instructions were also given to strengthen arrangements in view of the increasing crowds at temples.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign and Drone Surveillance</h2>



<p>The meeting also discussed the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, drone operations, law and order, and issues related to the Basic Education Department. The Chief Minister instructed officials to avoid any negligence and work with better coordination at every level.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Initiative for Coordination Between Officials and Public Representatives</h2>



<p>CM Yogi had recently raised this issue in a review meeting of Jhansi and Chitrakoot divisions, highlighting dissatisfaction among MPs and MLAs with officials in their respective areas. Many public representatives complained that they had to make repeated efforts for development work but were not receiving the expected cooperation. On this issue, the Chief Minister took a firm stance, emphasising better coordination between officials and public representatives.</p>

<p>This initiative by the Uttar Pradesh government is not merely a convenient travel service; it is also a strong step towards women&#8217;s empowerment. The government aims to enable women to reach their destinations independently and safely.</p>
