Sadhvi Pragya Thakur Breaks Down After Acquittal in Malegaon Blast Case


<p><strong>Pragya Thakur Acquitted in 2008 Malegaon Blast Case:</strong> A special NIA court in Mumbai delivered a historic verdict on Thursday in the 2008 Malegaon blast case. The court acquitted all seven accused, including former BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur and Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Shrikanth Purohit. The court stated that the prosecution failed to prove the charges, hence all accused are being discharged.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">I Am Alive Because I Am a Sannyasin &#8211; Sadhvi Pragya</h2>



<p>After the verdict, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur broke down in the courtroom. Joining her hands, she addressed Judge Abhay Lohati, saying, “I was tortured for 13 days. My life was ruined. I was humiliated for 17 years. They branded me a terrorist in my own country.” She described this not just as her victory but as a victory for the entire “Bhagwa” (saffron). She stated that from the beginning, her stance was that there should be a solid basis for summoning someone for investigation. But she was forcibly arrested, tortured, and her life was destroyed. “I was living the life of a sannyasin, yet I was made an accused,” she said emotionally. “I am alive today because I am a sannyasin. They conspired to defame the Bhagwa. Today, Bhagwa has won, Hindutva has won, and God will punish the guilty.”</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pragya Singh Thakur Innocent &#8211; Court</h2>



<p>The court made several important observations in its judgment. Special Judge Abhay Lohati said that while the prosecution proved that the blast occurred in Malegaon, it failed to prove that the bomb was planted in the motorcycle attributed to Pragya Singh Thakur, nor could it be proven that the bike belonged to her.</p>



<p>Questioning the investigation, the court stated that forensic samples were not collected properly, no sketch of the crime scene was prepared, and no fingerprints, dump data, or anything else was collected. The court also found that the victims&#8217; medical records were tampered with and the actual number of injured was 95, not 101.</p>



<p>Regarding the charges against Lieutenant Colonel Shrikanth Prasad Purohit, the court stated that no explosives were recovered from his house, and it could not be proven that he prepared the bomb or arranged for the RDX.</p>



<p>In its judgment, the court ordered the Maharashtra government to pay ₹200,000 to the families of those killed in the blast and ₹50,000 to the injured as compensation.</p>



<p>On the night of 29 September 2008, at 9:35 pm, during the month of Ramadan, a bomb blast occurred near a mosque near Bhikku Chowk in Malegaon city. Six people were killed and 95 were injured in the blast. The responsibility for investigating this case was initially given to the Maharashtra ATS, led by then ATS chief Hemant Karkare. However, before the mystery of the Malegaon bomb blast could be solved, Karkare was martyred in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Later, the case was handed over to the NIA.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">40 Witnesses Turned Hostile</h2>



<p>Besides Pragya Singh Thakur, Lieutenant Colonel Purohit, Sudhakar Dwivedi, Major Ramesh Upadhyay (retired), Ajay Rahirkar, Sudhakar Dwivedi, Sudhakar Chaturvedi, and Samir Kulkarni were named as accused in this case. The special court examined over 300 witnesses in this case. Of these, 40 witnesses turned hostile, 40 statements were dismissed, and 40 other witnesses have died.</p>

Bengaluru Company Defrauded of Rs 378 Crore by Part-Time Employee


<p>A case of approximately ₹378 crore being stolen by hacking a company&#8217;s server in Bengaluru on Wednesday has come to light. The company suspects the involvement of a part-time employee.</p>



<p>The Whitefield Cyber Crime, Economic Offences and Narcotics (CEN) police station has registered a case in this regard. Nebilo Technologies Private Limited, located in Vaishnavi Tech Park near Belandur, Bengaluru, has filed the complaint.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Police detain employee</h2>



<p>Hardeep Singh, Vice President of Public Policy and Government Affairs, filed the complaint. The role of Rahul Agrawal, a company staff member, is suspicious in this case. He has now been taken into police custody.</p>



<p>According to the First Information Report (FIR), the company operates as a trading platform for cryptocurrency exchange and sales. On July 19, at approximately 2:37 AM, an unknown person hacked into the company&#8217;s wallet and transferred 1 USDT to another account.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Amount later transferred to different accounts</h2>



<p>Later, at approximately 9:40 AM, the same person transferred 40 million USD (approximately ₹378.95 crore) to their account. This amount was later distributed across six different accounts.</p>



<p>Upon investigating the hacking incident and the transfer of funds, the company found that the laptop used by employee Rahul Agrawal had been tampered with.</p>



<p>Upon questioning, Agrawal stated that he had been working part-time with the company for a year and used the laptop solely for company-related work.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Laptop used for unauthorised purposes</h2>



<p>It was also discovered that, in violation of company policy, the laptop was also used for unauthorised purposes. The FIR states that Rahul Agrawal is suspected of being involved in this crime, possibly in collusion with others.</p>



<p>Police have registered a case against Rahul Agrawal and others under sections 66, 43, 66(C), and 66(D) of the Information Technology Act, as well as sections 303, 316(4), 318(4), and 319(2) of the BNS Act.</p>



<p>An officer stated that further investigation into the matter is underway and more information is expected to emerge as the investigation progresses. Cybercrime remains one of the most challenging issues these days.</p>



<p>In the past few years, many people have fallen victim to it and lost their hard-earned money. However, due to the tireless efforts of the authorities, many cases have also been solved, and large sums of stolen money have been recovered.</p>

<p>A technical fault at the NATS Swanwick air traffic control centre (ATC) led to the cancellation of numerous flights across the UK. The UK&#8217;s National Air Traffic Services (NATS) later reported that the technical issue had been resolved and flight operations resumed. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Flight Services Affected Across the UK</h2>



<p>ATC initially issued a statement indicating that the number of aircraft flying over London had been restricted to ensure safety. NATS reported that the problem at the Swanwick ATC significantly impacted air services across the UK, affecting both domestic and international flights. Media reports indicated delays at Gatwick, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Birmingham airports.</p>



<p>Gatwick Airport released a statement addressing the situation, explaining that a technical issue with NATS was affecting all outbound flights across the UK. The statement confirmed that no flights were departing from London Gatwick until the situation was resolved and that they were working with NATS to resume flights as soon as possible. Inbound flights were still landing at the airport. Passengers were advised to check their flight status with their respective airlines. Newcastle International Airport Authority also issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter), stating that a problem in London airspace was affecting airport operations and that all flights were currently suspended. They promised timely updates.</p>

<p>The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for several districts in Rajasthan following widespread rainfall across the state. Light to moderate rain was recorded in most parts of eastern Rajasthan, with heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas. </p>



<p>Western Rajasthan also experienced light to moderate rainfall, with heavy showers in isolated locations. The highest rainfall was recorded in Shahpura, Jaipur, at 156 millimetres. The highest maximum temperature was recorded in Ganganagar at 37.0 degrees Celsius, and the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Sirohi at 20.1 degrees Celsius. The IMD has forecast further rainfall for the next 48 hours.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Orange Alert in 6 Districts</h2>



<p>The IMD has issued an orange alert for Ajmer, Jaipur, Sikar, Churu, Nagaur, and Pali districts, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning.</p>



<p>A yellow alert has been issued for Alwar, Bhilwara, Bundi, Dausa, Jhunjhunu, Kota, Rajsamand, Tonk, Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Jodhpur, and Sri Ganganagar, predicting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning.</p>

<p>The IMD has issued a yellow alert for eight districts for tomorrow, predicting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning in Ajmer, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Bikaner, Churu, Hanumangarh, Nagaur, and Sri Ganganagar.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">IMD Forecast</h2>



<p>According to the IMD, a circulation system persists over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining eastern Rajasthan, leading to the ongoing heavy rainfall. However, there is a strong possibility of relief from heavy rainfall from August 1st. However, some parts of the Shekhawati region and Bikaner division may still experience isolated heavy rainfall on August 1st.</p>

<p><strong>World Athletics</strong>: Women athletes will now be required to undergo a one-time gender test, the SRY gene test. Any female athlete who does not undergo this test will not be able to participate in world ranking competitions. The World Athletics Council implemented this test on Wednesday. </p>



<p>This rule has been created to prevent athletes who have changed their gender to compete in women&#8217;s events, and will come into effect on 1 September 2025. Therefore, female athletes will not be able to participate in the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, starting August 13th, without passing the SRY gene test.</p>



<p>According to a press release issued by World Athletics, this test will need to be done only once in a lifetime and will be conducted via a buccal swab or blood test, whichever is more convenient. This test will identify the athlete&#8217;s gender.</p>

Couple robbed on way back from religious trip, wife murdered, husband hurt


<p><strong>Bareilly</strong>: A couple returning from a pilgrimage to Purnagiri were attacked and robbed, resulting in the brutal murder of the wife and serious injuries to her husband. The incident sent shockwaves through the police department. Upon receiving information, SSP Anurag Arya, SP South Anshika Verma, SP Crime, SOG, Surveillance Unit, and the Forensic Team arrived at the scene and collected evidence.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Incident Occurs Late at Night While Returning by Bike</h2>



<p>Om Sharan, a resident of village Vyuli, Wazirganj, Badaun, was returning with his wife Amarwati (35) after visiting Purnagiri. After stopping for a while at their in-laws&#8217; house in village Motipur, Awala, they set off for home at night on a relative&#8217;s motorbike. Family members advised them against travelling at night, but they insisted, citing their children being alone at home.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bike Stopped Near Kanthari Temple by Miscreants</h2>



<p>As the couple neared the Kanthari temple on the Awala-Wazirganj road, they were surrounded by more than half a dozen miscreants. The armed assailants, after looting cash and jewellery, attacked the couple when they resisted. Om Sharan stated that the miscreants attacked his wife&#8217;s face and head with a sharp weapon, causing her to fall to the ground bleeding profusely. She was rushed to the Community Health Centre, where doctors declared her dead.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Injured Husband Informs Relatives, Police Arrive</h2>



<p>Following the incident, the injured husband informed his relatives and then the police. The Dial 112 team arrived at the scene and took the injured to the hospital. The news of Amarwati&#8217;s death caused chaos among her relatives. The deceased has two young children – a son and a daughter. Her husband, Om Sharan, runs a tent house in Wazirganj town.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Police Gathering Technical Evidence</h2>



<p>The police have completed the panchnama (post-mortem report) and sent the body for post-mortem. Forensic experts have collected crucial clues from the crime scene. SSP Anurag Arya stated that a case has been registered and the investigation has begun. Preliminary investigations suggest that there were about six assailants. Technical surveillance is being used to identify and apprehend them. The SSP assured that the culprits will be arrested soon and the strictest action will be taken.</p>


<p>A couple returning from a pilgrimage to Purnagiri were attacked and robbed en route. The woman was brutally murdered, while her husband sustained serious injuries. </p>

<p>A major development has emerged from the Indian music industry. Rapper Vedan (Hiradas Murli), has been accused of rape by a female doctor. Following a police complaint, the young doctor has also levelled several serious allegations, including accusations of deception regarding marriage. According to a report in <i>The Indian Express</i>, Kerala Police registered a case under Section 376(2) of the IPC on Wednesday, which pertains to repeated sexual assault.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Female Doctor Accuses Rapper Vedan of Rape</h2>



<p>The entire case against the rapper is based on the statement of the female doctor, who alleges that Vedan engaged in sexual relations with her under the false promise of marriage. The doctor further alleges that between 2021 and 2023, the accused took her to various locations in Kerala and repeatedly assaulted her under the pretext of marriage. She claims that she reported the matter to the police after he changed his mind and reneged on his promise. She also alleges that she had been lending him money for several years and has provided the police with bank statements and UPI transaction details.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rapper Vedan Previously Arrested</h2>



<p>According to police, this is not Vedan&#8217;s first encounter with the law. In April, he was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for possessing six grams of cannabis in Kochi, later receiving bail. He also faced a wildlife case related to wearing a pendant made of leopard teeth.</p>

पोस्ट ऑफिस में लगी राखी भेजने के लिए बहनों की भीड़

पचमढ़ी से लगभग 19 किलोमीटर की पदयात्रा कर नागद्वारी गुफा तक जाने के लिए श्रद्धालुओं की पदयात्रा का समापन नागपंचमी पर हुआ। 

यह यात्रा सतपुड़ा टाइगर रिजर्व के कोर एरिया के घने जंगलों से होकर पूरी होती है। 


इस बीच मध्य प्रदेश और महाराष्ट्र के अलग-अलग जिलों से आए लाखों श्रद्धालुओं ने शेषनाग देवता का पूजन किया।

10 दिन चलने वाले मेले को 16 सेक्टरों में विभाजित कर सैकड़ों अधिकारी, कर्मचारी और पुलिस जवानों को तैनात किया गया था। 

इस यात्रा में कई स्थानों पर श्रद्धालुओं को चट्टानों पर लगाई गई लोहे की सीढ़ी से उतरकर खाई को पार करना पड़ता है। 

 पचमढ़ी के नागफनी, जलगली से शुरू होने वाली से पदयात्रा में श्रद्धालुओं को सात पर्वतों को पार कर नागमंदिर तक पहुंचाना पढ़ता है।

जंगल में जगह जगह श्रद्धालुओं के लिए ठहरने सहित सभी मूलभूत सुविधाएं दी गई। मेले के संचालन के लिए पचमढ़ी तहसील में कंट्रोल बनाया गया है।

<p> स्वतंत्रता दिवस की भव्य तैयारी राजधानी रायपुर में शुरू हो चुकी है। बुधवार की दोपहर पुलिस परेड ग्राउंड में पूर्वाभ्यास किया गया। सुरक्षा बलों की टुकड़ियां पूरे जोश और अनुशासन के साथ अभ्यास करती नजर आईं। </p>
