<p>While congratulating the successful students, the Chief Minister also boosted the morale of those who did not succeed. He said that failure is not the end. The state government will provide another examination opportunity in June so that students do not waste their valuable time. He also appealed to parents to maintain their children&#8217;s morale, as every student has talent. He also mentioned that changes are being brought about in the education system under the New Education Policy (NEP 2020) to provide students with more opportunities and options.</p>

Complete blackout in Jammu and Kashmir, blasts heard, police alert residents


<p>Tensions remain high between India and Pakistan following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. A blackout was imposed in Jammu at 8 PM on Thursday night. Explosions were heard in Jammu, and mobile services were disrupted. Drones were also sighted in several areas of Jammu. The blackout also affected Samba, R.S. Pura, and Akhnoor. A high alert has been issued in Jammu.</p>

<p>After the success of &#8216;Operation Sindoor&#8217;, Pakistan&#8217;s panic is clearly visible. On Wednesday night, Pakistan tried to target military bases in at least 15 cities from Jammu and Kashmir to Rajasthan with missiles and drones, which was completely foiled by India&#8217;s air defense system and in retaliation, Lahore&#8217;s air defense system was destroyed. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Four-Hour Blackout in Jodhpur</h2>



<p>Jodhpur is currently on high alert. This is evident from the four-hour blackout imposed on the city on Wednesday night. Following instructions from the Union Home Ministry, mock drills and blackouts were conducted in various parts of the country, including Jodhpur. The blackout in Jodhpur lasted from 10:00 PM to 10:15 PM on Wednesday.</p>



<p>However, around 11 PM, Collector Gaurav Agrawal issued instructions for a blackout from 12:00 AM to 4:00 AM. Government and private schools and Anganwadi centres were declared closed until further notice. The Jodhpur district administration remains on high alert, with meetings ongoing throughout the day. Another blackout is planned for tonight, although the timing has not yet been announced. The Jodhpur district administration has also issued new instructions.</p>

<p>Following the air strike by India on Pakistan, security agencies in Uttar Pradesh are on high alert. Security has been heightened at sensitive locations across the state, and several precautionary measures have been taken.</p>



<p>These include the suspension of all flights from Hindon Civil Airport in Ghaziabad until further notice. This decision, taken due to security concerns, is aimed at ensuring passenger safety. Around 30 flights used to depart daily from this airport to 14 cities across the country.</p>

Suspicious objects and individuals were searched for on trains and platforms. Security forces thoroughly checked passengers&#8217; luggage.</p>



<p>The state government and security agencies have appealed to the public to avoid rumours, remain vigilant, and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.</p>

<p>Madhya Pradesh High Court delivers major ruling on teacher recruitment – The court has issued an interim order, raising the possibility of a special examination. The Madhya Pradesh High Court in Jabalpur issued this interim order regarding the alleged neglect of guest teachers in the teacher recruitment process. Some petitions claim that discrepancies in the experience certificates of guest teachers in the 2023-24 teacher recruitment led to many eligible teachers being excluded.</p>

<p>A single bench of Justice Sanjay Dwivedi of the Jabalpur High Court issued the interim order. The court stated that the results of the teacher selection process will be subject to the court&#8217;s final decision on the petitions. If the petitions are accepted, the education department will have to conduct a special examination and consider the cases of the petitioners.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Issue of Experience Certificates</h2>



<p>Priti Tripathi and 13 others from Jabalpur challenged the teacher recruitment process in a petition filed with the Jabalpur High Court.<br>The petition states that for the first time in the 2023-24 teacher recruitment, the Employee Selection Board made experience certificates of guest teachers a mandatory document in the application. However, officers from the districts failed to provide them in the prescribed format. This resulted in a large number of eligible teachers being deprived.</p>

Uttarkashi Helicopter Crash Kills Five


<p>News has emerged of a helicopter crash in Uttarkashi. The helicopter belonged to a private company, Aero Trink, and was carrying seven people. According to reports, five people have died in the accident, while two are reported injured. Police, administration, and disaster management teams have launched a rescue operation at the site, and a search is underway for the remaining passengers.</p>

<p>Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey confirmed the accident, which occurred near Ganganani in the border district of Uttarkashi. Pandey stated that as soon as the authorities received news of the accident, relief and rescue teams were dispatched to the site. The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that SDRF and district administration teams have reached the site for relief and rescue operations. 200km Border Sealed in Sri Ganganagar District Amidst Heightened Security Alert


<p><strong>Deepak Sharma</strong><br>Sri Ganganagar. Following India&#8217;s surgical strikes on terrorist bases in Pakistan, soldiers are on high alert along the border. The Border Security Force (BSF) has sealed approximately 200 km of border in Sri Ganganagar district, from Rawalammandi and Suratgarh to Hindumalkoat. Soldiers are vigilantly monitoring the border fence in shifts.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Increased Security on the Border</h2>



<p>According to BSF sources, Pakistan had deployed its troops a few days earlier. Pakistan has constructed an earthen embankment well behind the zero line, making it difficult to observe activities on the other side. In response, the BSF has increased the number of personnel at border outposts. The number of night checkpoints has also been increased. Officers from sector and battalion headquarters are also regularly patrolling the border.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">No Anxiety Among Villagers</h2>



<p>Considering the tension, villagers near the border have been prevented from accessing their fields beyond the fence, but there is no anxiety among the villagers. Villagers from Lakhakam, Khataan, 33 PS, 36 PS, 40 PS, and other villages bordering Pakistan, stated that they will cooperate with the security forces under all circumstances. These villages witnessed the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars.</p>



<p>Meanwhile, a team comprising the District Collector, Superintendent of Police, and CMHO is on high alert along the border, anticipating a possible retaliatory attack following the air strikes. Police are patrolling border villages. City residents expressed happiness over the surgical strikes and pledged their support for the nation&#8217;s decision. A mock drill was observed and understood during the day. In the evening, as soon as the sirens sounded, vehicles on the roads stopped and pulled over to the side.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Appeal to Ignore Rumours</h2>



<p>On Wednesday, an Anupgarh police team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Prashant Kaushik and Station House Officer Ishwar Prasad Jangid, visited border villages. The police interacted with the villagers, briefed them about the current situation, and strictly warned them against rumours. They emphasised the need for vigilance but stressed that there was no need for panic.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Instructions Given to Villagers</h2>



<p>The police team appealed to the villagers to immediately report any suspicious individuals, activities, or vehicles to the nearest police station or helpline. They were also urged not to spread or share any false information on social media. DSP Kaushik stated that strict action would be taken against those spreading rumours. The Station House Officer informed that police patrols have been intensified in border villages due to their sensitivity.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Full Cooperation from Villagers</h2>



<p>Upon the arrival of police officers in the villages, the villagers welcomed the administration and assured their cooperation in all circumstances. In many places, villagers volunteered to monitor and report any suspicious activity. DSP Kaushik stated that the Anupgarh area is completely calm and normal life continues. People are urged to maintain peace and not be misled by any unverified information.</p>


<p>A team comprising the Superintendent of Police, the Chief Medical Officer (CMHO), and others is on high alert at the border, anticipating a possible retaliatory attack following the airstrike.</p>

<p><strong>Rohit Sharma Retirement:</strong> Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has surprised everyone by announcing his sudden retirement from Test cricket. </p>



<p>The decision comes ahead of Team India’s five-Test tour of England right after IPL 2025. Rohit&#8217;s decision is not only a major blow for cricket fans but also a cause for concern for the team management, as they will now have to appoint a new Test captain soon.</p>



<p>The team has vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah as a potential candidate for the Test captaincy. However, according to some media reports, the selectors are hesitant to appoint Bumrah due to fitness concerns and workload management. They prefer a younger player who will be available for all matches in the series. Two contenders are being considered.</p>



<p>Reports suggest that the selectors want to give this responsibility to young batsman Shubman Gill. Gill is currently the vice-captain of the ODI team and has consistently emerged as a rising star in Indian cricket. According to reports, it is not feasible to play Jasprit Bumrah in all five matches of the England Test series. The BCCI may rest him in some matches, keeping workload management in mind. Therefore, it is essential for the team to choose a captain who can play the entire series.</p>



<p>Gill bats at number three in the Test team. His record across all three formats is also good. Playing for India in the longest format, Gill has scored 1893 runs at an average of 35.05 in 32 matches, including five centuries and seven half-centuries. Another reason behind considering Gill as captain is his fitness. He is one of India&#8217;s fittest players and has rarely missed a match.</p>



<p>Besides Gill, the team management could also entrust the captaincy to KL Rahul (केएल राहुल). Although Rahul has captained the Test team before, his record as captain has not been particularly impressive so far. He has captained India in three Test matches, winning two. He took over the captaincy in the absence of Virat Kohli during the second Test of the South Africa tour in 2021-22. He also led the Indian team on the Bangladesh tour.</p>



<p>Recently, Rahul has regained his form in Test cricket and played some crucial innings in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. <p>A significant agreement has been reached for employees and officers of the Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company (MPPGCL). The company has partnered with the State Bank of India (SBI) and Union Bank of India as part of its salary package. Under this agreement, both banks will provide MPPGCL employees with free life insurance coverage of ₹1 crore. Employees and officers will also receive other benefits.</p>



<p>MPPGCL, keeping the interests of its employees and officers in mind, has signed an agreement with SBI and Union Bank of India for salary package benefits. According to company officials, this agreement will significantly benefit engineers and employees working at the power generating company.</p>



<p>Engineers and employees working at the company can voluntarily receive their salaries from either SBI or Union Bank of India. This will provide employees with free life insurance and other important benefits either free of charge or at discounted rates.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Free ₹1 Crore Accidental Life Insurance</h2>



<p>Due to MPPGCL&#8217;s agreement with SBI and Union Bank, both banks will provide company employees with free accidental life insurance coverage of ₹1 crore. In addition, salary account holders will receive other benefits from the banks. These include free or discounted home loans, car loans, personal loans, locker facilities, overdrafts, cheques, online banking facilities, life insurance, health insurance, health check-ups, OTT subscriptions, online gym subscriptions, free airport lounge access, and more.</p>

<p>The Madhya Pradesh Secondary Education Board is offering a second chance to students who failed the class 10th and 12th board exams in 2025. Students unhappy with their results can also retake the exams to improve their scores. The MP Board has released the timetable for this second main examination.</p>



<p>Students who failed or passed with low marks in the MP Board exams are getting a second opportunity. The timetable has been released, and the application process has also begun. The process of filling out forms on the MP online portal for the High School and Higher Secondary second examination has started. Forms can be filled until 12 midnight on 21 May 2025.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Class 10th: 76.22% and Class 12th: 74.48% Students Passed</h2>



<p>Pragya Jaiswal topped the MP Board 10th examination, scoring 500 out of 500. Priyal Dwivedi from Satna topped the 12th examination with 492 out of 500. The overall pass percentage for class 10 was 76.22%, and for class 12, it was 74.48%.</p>


<p>The Madhya Pradesh board is giving students who failed the first main examination of classes 10th and 12th in 2025 a second chance. The timetable for the second main examination has been released.</p>

Bijapur Naxal Encounter: Over 20 Naxals Killed in Chhattisgarh


<p>While India launched a major operation, codenamed ‘Operation Sindhur’, against Pakistan at 1:30 AM on Wednesday, resulting in the targeting of 9 terrorist bases in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), security forces in Chhattisgarh&#8217;s forest region have also conducted a significant operation. Security personnel engaged in intense firing, reportedly eliminating over 20 Naxals. No official confirmation has been released regarding this operation yet.</p>



<p>It is reported that two days prior, during an encounter on the Karegutta hills, security forces killed a female Naxal and recovered a .303 rifle from her body. The SP confirmed in recent days that during a 12-day operation, 4 Naxals were killed, several weapons seized, and hundreds of Naxal bunkers destroyed. Currently, security forces have reportedly surrounded key Naxal leaders.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bijapur Naxal Encounter: Over 200 IEDs Recovered</h2>



<p>Reports indicate that over 200 IEDs have been recovered from the area. Security personnel are fully deployed at an altitude of approximately 5000 feet near Karegutta hill. It is believed that any attempt by Naxals to enter Chhattisgarh from the Telangana border will result in direct confrontation with security forces.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Claims of Killing Top Naxal Leaders</h2>



<p>Police claim that several senior Maoist leaders have either been killed or seriously injured during the operation. In addition to the encounter, hundreds of Naxal hideouts and bunkers have been destroyed.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Joint Operation Ongoing Since 21 April</h2>



<p>IG Sundarraj stated that this joint operation involving CRPF, Cobra Battalion, DRG (District Reserve Guard), and STF (Special Task Force) teams has been underway since 21 April. Continuous search operations are being conducted in forests where prior intelligence indicated Naxal activity.</p>



<p>During the encounter, heavy firing took place on both sides. After the Naxals retreated, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation, during which the body of the female Naxal was recovered. Her identity has not yet been publicly released, but security agencies are investigating her rank and any cases registered against her.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Over 100 Hardcore Naxals Killed</h2>



<p>Bastar IG Sundarraj P stated that a total of 129 hardcore Naxals have been killed so far in 2025. The bodies of these Maoists have been recovered, along with several modern weapons.</p>
