
<p><strong>IIT Bombay</strong> (Indian Institute of Technology Bombay) regularly launches several certificate courses covering various technologies and catering to different professionals and students. The Desai Sethi School of Entrepreneurship (DSSE) at the Mumbai-based IIT Bombay has announced a special online course for women. This introductory course is designed to train professionals, entrepreneurs, and managers in the professional application of Generative AI. The course is titled “GenAI for Business: A Hands-On Introduction”. This online course will be held from 11 to 13 September 2025, with the registration deadline set for 9 September.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">AI-related Technology to be Taught</h2>



<p>According to the institute, this three-day certificate program will provide candidates with practical experience using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Co-Pilot, DALLE, Perplexity, Flux1, Grok, and Notebook LM. It will offer learning opportunities through live demos, exercises, and case studies. The course is designed to ensure candidates gain a thorough understanding of the technology.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Survey on Students&#8217; Learning Habits</h2>



<p>IIT Bombay also conducted a survey to gather data on students&#8217; learning habits. This report, titled “Senior Survey 2025”, was released by the institute&#8217;s official student media body, Insight. The survey included 282 students, with 272 responding on how they acquire new skills. Of these, 118 students opted for online platforms (such as Coursera), while 65 students reported using ChatGPT. Only 9 students cited library books as their primary learning resource.</p>

<p>Monsoon devastation in Punjab has submerged the entire state. The worst flooding in decades has crippled life, with 51 deaths and over 3.87 lakh people affected so far. The overflowing of major rivers like Sutlej, Beas and Ravi, additional water from Himachal Pradesh and Jammu &amp; Kashmir, and incessant heavy rainfall have submerged nearly 2,000 villages across 23 districts. Over 1.75 lakh hectares of crops have been ruined in the agrarian state, devastating farmers.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Flood Inception</h2>



<p>This flooding began in the first week of August, but intensified in September. Initially confined to 12 districts, the disaster has now spread across all 23. The worst affected districts are Gurdaspur (323 villages), Kapurthala (107), Firozpur (101), Pathankot (89), Hoshiarpur (85) and Amritsar. Pathankot reported the highest number of deaths at 6, while Amritsar, Barnala, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana and Mansa reported 3 deaths each. In Ludhiana, erosion in the Sutlej river embankment threatens to inundate 15 villages, and floodwaters could reach urban areas like Rahon Road and Tibba Road.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Gradual Improvement</h2>



<p>According to the meteorological department, there is no rain warning for the next two days, leading to a gradual improvement in the situation. However, the Ghaggar river water level is still at a dangerous level. Experts believe that climate change, a poor drainage system and illegal mining have exacerbated the disaster. While an average of 7.5 million hectares of land is affected by floods in India every year, this time 1.17 million hectares of agricultural land has been destroyed in Punjab.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Relief and Rescue Operations</h2>



<p>For rescue operations, 23 NDRF teams, the army, air force, BSF and SDRF have jointly moved over 22,000 people to safer locations. 35 helicopters, 12 military units and 114 boats are involved in relief efforts. Over 200 relief camps have been set up in the state, sheltering more than 6,000 people. Gurdwaras and NGOs are distributing food, clothes and medicines.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Compensation Announced for Farmers</h2>



<p>Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited the affected areas and requested ₹60,000 crore in special assistance from the central government. He assured farmers of ₹50,000 per acre in compensation. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders also arrived to review relief efforts. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar donated ₹5 crore, while stars like Sonu Sood and Diljit Dosanjh came forward to help. The Haryana government announced ₹5 crore in aid.</p>

<p><strong>Rajasthan Health:</strong> The Rajasthan government recently launched a scheme offering free treatment to patients from other states. It was claimed that patients from other states would receive free treatment in government hospitals. However, the ground reality is quite different. Many patients in SMS and other major government hospitals are being denied the benefits of this scheme. The reason? They lack the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) card. This leads to arguments and disputes at the counters. As a result, patients are forced to undergo expensive treatment without the benefit of the scheme.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Scheme Implemented in Only a Few Hospitals</h2>



<p>Jaipur currently offers this facility only at SMS, Kanwatiya, and the Super Speciality Block. In MMH, 50% of patients lack the required card, and there is no alternative arrangement for them.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Card Mandatory</h2>



<p>The SMS administration states that free treatment for patients from other states is only possible if they possess the relevant scheme card. The card is mandatory to claim benefits under the central government scheme.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">SMS: Only 150 Patients Benefited So Far</h2>



<p>SMS Hospital receives patients from other states daily suffering from serious illnesses like heart conditions, kidney failure, liver disease, and cancer. However, due to the lack of cards, these patients are forced to bear the cost of expensive treatment. Since the scheme&#8217;s launch, only 150 patients have benefited, while a large number of patients from other states visit the hospital daily. Many people from other states reside in Jaipur, mostly belonging to the labourer class. The situation is almost the same at Kanwatiya and the Super Speciality Block.</p>

<p>In the confidence vote held in the French Parliament, Bayrou&#8217;s government received only 194 votes in favour, while 364 votes were cast against. He faced a significant defeat.</p>

<p>Bayrou himself had requested a confidence vote in parliament. The main reason was France&#8217;s deteriorating economic situation and rising debt. Bayrou urged MPs to support his proposed plan for public spending cuts to save his government. According to him, the country&#8217;s budget deficit has almost doubled the European Union&#8217;s limit of 3%, and the country&#8217;s debt has reached 114% of the economy.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Resignation today</h2>



<p>Bayrou, having failed to secure a confidence vote, will submit his resignation to President Macron today. He served as France&#8217;s Prime Minister for only 9 months.</p>

<p>Great news for Mumbai residents! India&#8217;s first e-water taxi service is set to launch soon. The journey from the Gateway of India to JNPA (Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority) will be reduced to just 40 minutes. The e-water taxi service will commence on 22 September. This launch will make travel between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai significantly easier and faster.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Faster and Affordable Option</h2>



<p>Currently, travel on this route involves wooden boats, taking over an hour. However, the e-water taxi will halve this travel time. Notably, these water taxis are environmentally friendly. One taxi will be solar-powered, and the other will run on electricity. Both taxis will have a capacity of 20 passengers. The fare has been kept very affordable, with the journey from Gateway to JNPA costing only ₹100.</p>



<p>The e-water taxis are manufactured in India and are considered a superior, environmentally conscious alternative. Amidst the ever-increasing pressure on Mumbai&#8217;s road and rail transport systems, this service could prove to be a boon for commuters.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Future Expansion of E-Water Taxi Services?</h2>



<p>Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is also enthusiastic about this project. There are plans to extend similar services from the Gateway of India to Elephanta and Alibag in the future. The launch of the e-water taxi is not only convenient for Mumbaikars but also marks a significant step towards modern and green transportation in the city.</p>

Trump continues to claim credit for the ceasefire, but India has clarified that no third party played a role. Furthermore, Pakistan also recently acknowledged that they negotiated the ceasefire directly with India, without any third-party involvement.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Project Details (Mumbai Urban Transport Project)</h2>



<p>This suburban rail corridor will span 69.23 kilometres and is estimated to cost over ₹12,710 crore. The route will commence from Panvel, traversing through Vasai, and reaching Borivali and Virar. A total of 19 stations will be constructed along this line, including stations like Bhiwandi Road, Navi Dombivali, Kopar, Taloja Panchand, Kalamboli, and Borivali.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Significant Relief for Mumbaikars</h2>



<p>Currently, commuters travelling from Navi Mumbai (Panvel) to Borivali or Vasai need to change trains at Kurla or Wadala. This new corridor will eliminate this inconvenience, providing direct connectivity. This will save considerable travel time for daily commuters to and from western Mumbai. The route will also greatly benefit commuters in the western suburbs, enabling them to directly access long-distance trains to Goa or Pune from Panvel.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Major Benefits for Bhiwandi and Palava</h2>



<p>This new rail corridor will provide Bhiwandi, known for its loom power industry, with direct connectivity to Navi Mumbai and western Mumbai. This will significantly boost Bhiwandi&#8217;s development. Residents of large housing projects like Palava and Runwal City, located on Shilphata Road, will also benefit from this rail link, gaining easy access to Borivali, Vasai, and Panvel.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Reduced Crowding on Local Trains</h2>



<p>Upon completion, this project will mark a significant transformation in Mumbai&#8217;s suburban rail services. Officials state that this corridor will alleviate passenger pressure on the Central and Harbour lines, reducing overcrowding and making commutes faster and more comfortable.</p>


<p>The Panvel-Borivali-Vasai Local Train Corridor will directly benefit industrial cities like Bhiwandi and residents of prominent housing projects. It will provide easy access to Navi Mumbai and Western Mumbai, thereby boosting development.</p>

<p>The Asia Cup 2025, commencing on 9th September, will feature eight teams for the first time, including three associate nations: Hong Kong, UAE, and Oman. Hong Kong, the most experienced of the three, is participating in its fifth Asia Cup. The UAE has participated four times, while this will be Oman&#8217;s debut. All three teams qualified through the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Premier Cup tournament.</p>

<p>Hong Kong secured second place in their group by defeating Qatar and Malaysia, reaching the semi-finals. Despite losing to Oman in the semi-final, they qualified for the Asia Cup by winning the third-place playoff against Nepal.</p>



<p>This is Hong Kong&#8217;s fifth Asia Cup appearance and their second in the T20 format. Their first qualification was in 2004, followed by 2008. After missing the next four editions, they returned strongly in 2018 and again qualified in 2022. However, they have yet to progress beyond the first round. This time, Hong Kong will aim to improve their record.</p>

<p>The UAE qualified for the Asia Cup through the ACC Men&#8217;s Premier Cup 2024. In this tournament held in Oman, the top two teams secured Asia Cup berths. The UAE defeated Nepal in the semi-final before beating Oman in the final. They are grouped with defending champions India, Pakistan, and Oman in Group A. Their first match is against India in Dubai, followed by Oman in Abu Dhabi, and then Pakistan in Dubai.</p>



<p>The UAE previously played in the Asia Cup T20 format only once, in 2016. That year, the qualifying stage was integrated into the tournament, and the UAE easily won the first stage with victories over Afghanistan, Hong Kong, and Oman. In the second stage, they lost all four matches, finishing bottom.</p>

<p>Oman will be making their Asia Cup debut. Their campaign begins on 12th September against Pakistan in Dubai. They will then face the UAE on 15th September and conclude their group stage against defending champions India on 20th September at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.</p>



<p>Oman topped their group in the Premier Cup with four wins from four matches, before defeating Hong Kong in the semi-final. Although they lost to the UAE in the final, both teams qualified for the Asia Cup. The third-place playoff victory by Hong Kong also secured their place in the tournament.</p>

<p><strong>Lucknow:</strong> Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a significant benefit for teachers across the state on Teacher&#8217;s Day – cashless medical treatment. This facility will not only be available to teachers of primary, upper primary, secondary, aided schools and colleges but will also cover Shikshamitras, instructors, and cooks.</p>



<p>At the state-level Teacher&#8217;s Honour Ceremony held in Lucknow on Friday, the Chief Minister announced that all teachers in the state will now be able to avail of cashless medical treatment. This facility will not only be available to teachers of primary, upper primary, secondary, aided schools and colleges but will also cover Shikshamitras (Shiksha Mitra), instructors, and cooks.</p>



<p>Making this historic announcement, CM Yogi said that this decision will directly benefit approximately 9 lakh teacher families. Now, in any illness or emergency situation, teachers and their families will not have to face financial hardship.</p>



<p>CM Yogi described this as a &#8216;symbol of the government&#8217;s gratitude for the contribution of teachers&#8217;. </p>



<p>He honoured teachers, distributed tablets, and inaugurated smart classes at the event held in the Lok Bhavan auditorium on Teacher&#8217;s Day. In his address, the Chief Minister said, &#8220;I would say to all the teachers across the state: you do well, and we are with you. On Teacher&#8217;s Day, you all must be thinking what more could be done. We want to announce that we will provide all teachers in the state with the benefit of cashless treatment. जयपुर के जमवारामगढ़ में एक बार फिर रामगढ़ बांध लबालब होने की उम्मीद जागी है। बूंदाबांदी के साथ ही कंपनी की ओर से शुरू किया क्लाउड सीडिंग ऑपरेशन खत्म हो गया। 

दोनों ड्रोन सोडियम क्लोराइड लेकर उड़ाए गए। सीडिंग के बाद बांध के आसपास की पहाड़ियों पर हल्की बूंदाबांदी दर्ज हुई। कृषि मंत्री डॉ.किरोड़ीलाल मीना ने कहा कि रामगढ़ को भरने के लिए सरकार प्रतिबद्ध है। कंपनी क्लाउड सीडिंग की रिपोर्ट तैयार करके सरकार को सौंपेगी। 


मंत्री ​ने बांध के बहाव क्षेत्र में अतिक्रमण को लेकर कहा कि अतिक्रमियों को खुद आगे आकर अतिक्रमण हटाने में सहयोग करना चाहिए। इससे 6 जिलों को लाभ होगा। 

बांध में सरकार रामजल सेतु लिंक परियोजना के माध्यम से ईसरदा से चंबल का पानी लाने का कार्य कर रही है। यह देश का पहला पायलट प्रोजेक्ट है, जिसमें एआइ तकनीक और स्वदेशी ड्रोन की मदद से क्लाउड सीडिंग की गई।
