<p><strong>LSG Team Over Rate Penalty:</strong> Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant was penalized for a second time on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium for slow over-rate against Mumbai Indians. During the match, LSG was also sanctioned for having one fielder short outside the circle towards the end of Mumbai&#8217;s innings. Furthermore, LSG captain Rishabh Pant and all the team players have been fined as this was Pant&#8217;s second offence regarding minimum over-rate. Previously, LSG was found guilty of a slow over-rate in a league match against Mumbai.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Fine Imposed on Impact Player</h2>



<p>This being a second offence, not only captain Pant but also the impact player and all members of LSG&#8217;s playing eleven have been fined. The IPL, in a released statement, said that this is LSG&#8217;s second offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which relates to minimum over-rate offences.</p>

<p><strong>MP Weather:</strong> A significant change in weather is being observed. Due to the influence of three weather systems formed in different locations, the inflow of moisture from the Arabian Sea has begun. On Monday, light showers occurred in some parts of Jabalpur, leading to a drop in temperature. A warning has been issued for rain and thunderstorms in Jabalpur and other districts of the division on Tuesday. According to the Meteorological Department, this spell of rain and thunderstorms will continue for the next 3-4 days.</p>



<p>On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38.6 degrees Celsius, which was 2 degrees below normal. The minimum night temperature also decreased due to Sunday&#8217;s rainfall. It was recorded at 20.2 degrees Celsius on Monday, 5 degrees below normal.</p>

<p>According to the Meteorological Department, currently, a western disturbance, a trough near Vidarbha, and a cyclonic circulation in the upper atmosphere over southwest Rajasthan and its vicinity are present. A north-south trough extends from Vidarbha to Tamil Nadu. Due to the influence of weather systems formed in different locations, moisture is coming from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Due to this, the weather (Rain Alert) may remain the same for 3 to 4 days.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Heavy Rainfall in Energy Capital, Hail in Several Areas</strong></h2>



<p>The weather in the energy capital remained changeable on Monday, the second day. The sky remained cloudy, and a spell of rain began in the late evening, accompanied by hail. This caused the temperature to plummet, with the maximum reaching 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum 23 degrees Celsius. The effect of the squall and rain (Rain Alert) of the past two days persists, resulting in a drop in temperature. The rain has made the weather pleasant. Throughout Monday, there was a mix of sunshine and shade, and as evening approached, heavy showers and hail began to fall in the district headquarters and rural areas. According to the Meteorological Department, similar weather is expected in the city for the next few days.</p>



<p>Hailstorms were most prevalent in Naugai, Kachni, Bilounji, Majan Mod, and Naugarh. The streets of the city were covered in a white sheet of hail. Vegetable vendors in the open market scrambled to safety. The hailstorm lasted for about two minutes, while the rain continued for about 20 minutes. However, agricultural work is mostly complete for this season.</p>

<p><strong>Pahalgam Attack:</strong> Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, tensions between India and Pakistan continue. Meanwhile, Pakistan&#8217;s Defence Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, has made a significant claim. Minister Asif stated that Pakistan believes India could attack at any time, and therefore, they are fully preparing their army.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">‘Army Strengthened’</h2>



<p>In an interview with Reuters, Pakistan&#8217;s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that they have strengthened their army, which has become necessary now. Certain strategic decisions needed to be made, and therefore, those decisions have been taken.</p>



<p>The Pakistani Defence Minister stated that India&#8217;s rhetoric is escalating. The Pakistani army has indicated a possibility of an Indian attack. He did not elaborate on the intelligence information or event that led to this assessment.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">‘Pakistan Fully Alert’</h2>



<p>During this time, Pakistan&#8217;s Defence Minister Asif also mentioned the use of nuclear weapons. He stated that Pakistan would only use its nuclear weapons if its existence is threatened. Pakistan is now fully alert. On the other hand, India&#8217;s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken of &#8220;reducing terrorist bases to dust&#8221;.</p>



<p>However, earlier, Pakistan&#8217;s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif had demanded the formation of an international investigation team from Russia, China, and Western countries to investigate the Pahalgam terrorist attack. He said in an interview that this investigation would confirm the veracity of India&#8217;s allegations regarding Pakistan&#8217;s involvement in the attack. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also supported this international investigation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">26 Killed in Pahalgam Attack</h2>



<p>Twenty-six people died in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. This has caused widespread outrage across the country. Following the Pahalgam attack, India has taken strong action against Pakistan. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police have released sketches of three suspected terrorists, and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the investigation. RBI Orders to ATM Cash to Include ₹100 and ₹200 Notes: RBI Directive


<p><strong>Reserve Bank of India:</strong> The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regularly issues new instructions regarding Indian currency. In line with this, the RBI has provided a new update concerning Rs100 and Rs200 notes. The central bank has instructed banks to ensure the dispensing of Rs100 and Rs200 notes from ATMs to increase their availability to the public. Banks and White Label ATM Operators (WLAOs) will have to implement this instruction in a phased manner.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rs100 and Rs200 Notes to be Dispensed from ATMs</h2>



<p>The RBI issued a circular stating that this decision was taken as an effort to ensure better access to frequently used currency denominations by the public. All banks and White Label ATM operators must ensure that their ATMs regularly dispense ₹100 and ₹200 banknotes.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">RBI Issues Deadline</h2>



<p>According to the circular, by 30 September 2025, at least 75 percent of all ATMs should dispense Rs100 or Rs200 notes from at least one cassette. By 31 March 2026, this should increase to 90 percent of all ATMs.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">ATM Fee Rules to Change from 1 May</h2>



<p>It should be noted that the rules for ATM transaction fees are going to change from 1 May 2025. According to the RBI, from May 1st, customers will be able to make a certain number of free ATM transactions every month. Under this, three transactions will be free in metropolitan areas and five in non-metropolitan areas. These transactions include both financial and non-financial activities. From the first of May, there will be changes in the free transaction limit at ATMs across the country, charges for additional transactions, and interchange fees.</p>

<p><strong>Policeman Shot:</strong> A shocking incident of a life-threatening attack on a policeman has come to light in another district of Madhya Pradesh, even before the government could issue strict orders regarding the brutal assault on a police officer in Bhopal, the state capital. This incident raises serious questions about the safety of police personnel, let alone ordinary citizens, in the state. Surprisingly, this attack took place within a police station itself.</p>



<p>In Satna, Madhya Pradesh, at approximately 12:30 AM, a young man shot Head Constable Prince Garg while he was on duty at Jaithwara police station. The attack occurred while the officer was having dinner. The assailant fled the scene after the shooting, causing chaos within the station. This brazen attack, unprecedented in its audacity, saw a criminal enter the police station and attack an officer.</p>



<p>Head Constable Garg was rushed to the district hospital and later referred to a medical college in critical condition.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Search for the Accused Begins</h2>

<p>Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Gupta and other police officials rushed to the district hospital upon learning of the incident. Separate police teams have been dispatched to identify and apprehend the accused.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Attack During Dinner</h2>



<p>Head Constable Prince Garg resides in the barracks within the Jaithwara police station. While having dinner after his shift, he heard a noise outside his room. He saw a masked young man. Before he could react, the young man fired a shot from a pistol, hitting him near the shoulder. The assailant then fled.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Policeman&#8217;s Condition Out of Danger</h2>



<p>Fellow officers immediately took Head Constable Garg to the district hospital where a CT scan was performed. The bullet was not found inside his body. As a precaution, he was referred to a medical college. At the time of writing, his condition is reported to be stable.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Accused Identified as Acchu</h2>



<p>Head Constable Garg told police officials that the shooter was masked, but suspects it was Acchu Gautam  from Mehuti. He had previously had a dispute with Acchu Gautam regarding a parked vehicle. While he suspects Acchu Gautam, CSP Mahendra Singh (सीएसपी महेन्द्र सिंह) stated that further action will be taken based on the investigation.</p>


<p>Questions are being raised about the rule of law in Madhya Pradesh (MP). Just two days after a policeman in Bhopal was brutally beaten after his name was discovered, and before any strict action was ordered in that case, an unknown assailant shot a policeman inside a police station in Satna.</p>

<p><strong>CG Weather Update:</strong> Chhattisgarh&#8217;s Raipur is experiencing a spell of squalls, rain, and hail due to the influence of two weather systems. On Monday, hail fell in several areas, including Bemetara, outer Raipur, and Udaipur. The clouds and rain have brought relief from the intense heat. However, this is detrimental to paddy and rabi crops. No significant change in weather is expected in the next 24 hours. Rain, squalls, and hail are expected in various parts of the state, including Raipur.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">CG Weather Update: Relief from Intense Heat</h2>



<p>Raipur received more than 50 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours. Due to this, the maximum temperature was 38.4 degrees Celsius, 2.7 degrees below normal. The night temperature was 22.2 degrees Celsius, 4 degrees below normal. The maximum temperature may increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in the next two days. However, heatwave conditions are unlikely.</p>



<p>The first week of May is also expected to provide relief from the intense heat. However, heatwaves are expected in May. Naunata also falls in this month, from 25 May to 2 June. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">CG Weather Update: Mercury to Plunge Today</h2>



<p>The Meteorological Department reported 101.1 mm of rainfall in the capital from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on Monday. However, according to residents of the Lalpur area, this much rain did not occur. If this were true, it would have broken the 114-year-old record.</p>



<p>On 20 April 2011, the highest rainfall of 45.2 mm in 24 hours was recorded. The total monthly rainfall in 1909 was 131.1 mm. From 5:30 pm on Sunday to Monday morning, 38.4 mm of rain fell. However, this was later revised to 13.6 mm. Only 0.4 mm of rain fell in the evening.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rainfall in 24 Hours</h2>



<p>7 cm of rain fell in Bijapur, and 3 cm each in Antagarh and Usar. Similarly, 2 cm of rain fell in Belergaon, Pakhanjūr, Kanker, Kutroo, Gangalūr, Narharpur, Sarona, and Nagri. 1 cm of rainfall was recorded in Bhopalpatnam, Bhanupratappur, and Bhairamarg.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rainfall Across All Districts of Durg Division</h2>



<p>Light rain continued in the Durg division of Chhattisgarh on Monday. 6.4 mm of rainfall was recorded in the Durg district. 3.8 mm in Bemetara, 0.7 mm in Kawardha, 2.2 mm in Khairagarh, and 5 mm in Rajnandgaon. 5.7 mm of rain fell in Balod. In Kawardha, rain and hail fell in some places in the afternoon on Monday. In Bemetara, rain and hail fell for 15 minutes in the afternoon. Rajnandgaon experienced light showers with squalls.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bilaspur Division: Drizzle in Some Areas, Light Rain in Others</h2>



<p>Bilaspur experienced a mix of sunshine and clouds in the morning. Drizzle occurred in some parts of the city, providing significant relief from the heat. Meanwhile, in Raigarh, the Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert, forecasting moderate rain and hail in some areas of the district. Jashpur experienced light showers with strong winds on Sunday night. Light rain continued intermittently throughout the day in Janjgir-Champa. Cool winds throughout the day provided relief from the heat.</p>

<p><strong>Pahalgam Attack:</strong> The recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam has impacted tourism by up to 90 per cent. The cancellation of 3500-4000 bookings due to fear has significantly cooled the summer season&#8217;s business. While approximately 5000 people visit Kashmir annually, many book tickets, hotels, and motels in advance to avoid crowds. However, following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, tourists are avoiding Kashmir and other hill stations.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pahalgam Attack: Majority of Bookings Cancelled</h2>



<p>Tour and travel operators say that tourist movement will resume once the situation normalises. However, they anticipate this will take considerable time. Raman Jadwani, state president of the Travel Federation of India (TAFI), stated that following the incident in Pahalgam, the number of tourists has significantly decreased.</p>



<p>Consequently, many are cancelling bookings made for this season. Notably, over 2.5 million tourists visit Kashmir from April to August. People typically travel to Jammu and Kashmir between April and July, according to their convenience.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Full Refunds Being Processed</h2>



<p>The TAFI state president reported that full refunds are being issued to those who made bookings. This decision was taken by the Jammu &amp; Kashmir Hotel and Restaurant Association, along with tourist corporations, travel agencies, and aviation companies. Refunds are being processed upon submission of relevant booking documents.</p>



<p>Travel operators state that never before have so many tourists been killed simultaneously in a terrorist attack in Kashmir. The impact of this attack is most severely felt in the state, across the country, and in Jammu and Kashmir.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rising Trend of Tourism</h2>



<p>Travel operators mention that during summer holidays, most middle and upper-class individuals travel to Kashmir and other hill stations with family and friends. The trend has increased <span style="margin: 0px;padding: 0px">post-COVID-19</span>. Bookings in 2023 totalled approximately 1600, rising to 3400 in 2024 and nearly 4600 by now in 2025. However, the terrorist attack has completely disrupted the tourism business.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">1.3 Million Bookings Cancelled in the Valley</h2>



<p>According to the TAFI state president, citing Babar Chaudhary, president of the Jammu &amp; Kashmir Hotel and Restaurant Association, at least 1.3 million bookings from April to August have been cancelled across the valley. The association represents approximately 240 hotels and restaurants. Typically, over 2.5 million tourists visit Kashmir from April to August. However, this year, due to fear, at least 90 per cent of tourists will not be coming to Kashmir.</p>

<p><strong>IMD Weather Forecast:</strong> The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms in several states across the country, including Bihar. The weather in Bihar has changed, and strong winds, thunderstorms, and hail are expected in many districts of the state for the next two days. The meteorological department has issued red and orange alerts for more than 20 districts.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">High Alert in These Districts</h2>



<p>According to the Metrological Department, districts such as Siwan, Gopalganj, Patna, East Champaran, West Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, Katihar, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, and Munger are expected to experience heavy rainfall and winds gusting at 50-70 km per hour. There is also a risk of lightning and hail. The disaster management department has appealed to people to stay indoors, avoid standing under trees, and stay away from electricity poles.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Weather Havoc in Other States as Well</h2>



<p>Besides Bihar, several states in North India are expected to experience adverse weather conditions. The Meteorological Department stated that heavy rain with thunderstorms is possible in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, pre-monsoon activities, including thunderstorms and rain, have been warned for Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. In eastern India, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha may also experience deteriorating weather conditions after 27 April. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in parts of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana in South India.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Advice for Farmers and the Public</h2>



<p>The Meteorological Department has advised farmers to keep harvested crops in safe places and to stop irrigation work. The public has been urged to avoid open fields and to use electrical appliances cautiously. Given that Bihar has previously experienced loss of life and property due to thunderstorms and lightning, it is essential to exercise caution.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Past Experiences and Precautions</h2>



<p>On 10 April, thunderstorms in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh resulted in 83 deaths – 61 in Bihar and 22 in Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has again urged people to exercise extreme caution. <br>The Meteorological Department and local administration are monitoring the situation and have advised people to contact the nearest administrative authorities in case of any emergency.</p>
